Pancakes! The size of a medium pizza. Absolutely delicious!!!

We took our nephew and his girlfriend to Clinch Mountain. My husband and I shared a burger. It was HUGE. Actually it was too big even for 2 people! Each burger is a full pound. Some people might really like that but we aren't a huge fan. The toppings were good though. It tasted more like a meatloaf though. They could save money by making the burgers a little smaller or offering a smaller version for those of us who aren't into that much beef at one sitting. Our nephew ordered the egg salad sandwich. He said it was delicious. It was normal sized. The server was a little less than enthusiastic about being there but she did a good job. The food came out very quickly. The restaurant is a country diner and has a great view out the back.

My husband and I came for lunch after church. We arrived at 12 noon and were surprised to see only three other tables with people at them, one of them was an employee on a break. We were greeted right away but I was a little bummed when the menus had no descriptions of what's in the dishes and BOTH of the servers had no clue. After asking what was in 3 dishes (what's in an omelette, not what ingredients are used to make a complex meal) I gave up and picked one. Would have loved if all the entrees (breakfast and lunch/dinner) actually said what was in them. I didn't want to make the waitress go find someone who knew the answers to all my questions over and over. Food came pretty quick and the portion size was great. The food was good quality and there was TLC in it. When we finished we waited quite a bit of time (10-15 minutes) to get a box for my leftovers (side note another employee checked on us by this point and she was the knowledgeable one the other 2 had to go to). She was concerned I didn't like my food because I only ate half. I just was full, but I really appreciate that she cared. Once we got our box the original server tried to bring our check and we told her we wanted pie to bring home. She looked defeated that we were not done. She got the pie but it took a little while. By the time we left it was after 1pm and we could have easily been out in 40 minutes. They had about 15 more people at that point and we were worried that the 2 servers wouldn't be able to handle it. We'll try again and hopefully get a better server. Food was good but we just felt like they were not trained or knowledgeable and quiet slow. I'm sure it'll be better next time.

The stay was amazing the staff was great the breakfast WAS AMAZING the beds were comfortable the stay was nice but they need a outdoor pool

    The jacuzzi!

This is our 3rd stay here and it's been awesome, like always. We stop here for a couple days each year to decompress after our annual 4th of July family reunion in Ohio, and to break up the drive between there and Georgia. The service is always awesome - Krystal is very accommodating - if it's within her means to hook you up, she will. This year we are in a jacuzzi cabin, which has the jacuzzi inside the cabin itself, so even if it's a million degrees outside, you can chill in the AC and jacuzzi. Its like a 2-3 person jacuzzi, but 3 is pushing it - it's tiny. There are basic amenities, including a microwave, AC unit in the wall, Wi-Fi, big flat screen TV with Roku and Netflix, and whatever channels you add to it. The Wi-Fi password is underneath the router, if you can't find it. The cabin is one large room with a bathroom separate from everything else. So, to put it plainly, you're not roughing it out here - it's just a quiet, cozy, refreshing place to sit back and relax and enjoy the view. The view is the main selling point of these cabins. They all have a back porch that provides a wide, expansive view of mountains, hills, a couple towns, and awesome sunrise/sunset skies. There is a little diner/bakery at the opening of the road the cabins are on, which serves some great breakfast, lunch, and dinner; with some music on the weekends for certain events. The food is reasonably priced and the portions are large, so prepare yourself. Overall, this place is awesome. Don't come here expecting to be treated like royalty. Just come here and hang out, be respectful of the locals, the staff, and be grateful that you found this quiet little getaway. Thanks again for everything Krystal!

This is a great find!! Quant restaurant with a million dollar view!! I loved the nutty burger....who would have thought of putting peanut butter on a burger!! Unique delicious flavors!! The vinegar pie is a nice surprise also!!

    Rueben Sandwich

The people that remarked on the portion sizes were right. My husband and I could have split his Rueben sandwich and we would have had leftovers. I had the Philly and it was delicious with piles of sliced beef, peppers, onions and mushrooms. The fries were regular crinkle cut, but they were hot and perfectly fried. Did we try the vinegar pie? Of course we did. Would I do it again? Absolutely not. There were other desserts and we will try one of those next time. My husband didn't think it was awful, but he would eat anything containing sugar. The servers were very sweet but probably new to waitressing. That said, they promptly delivered everything we requested and they were very nice. We travel this route often and we will go back. If your looking for fancy, it may not suit your needs but they have really good food and huge portions.

Where the atmosphere feels like Home and the service makes you feel like Family. Danielle was our server. She was Patient, and Exceptional at her job. She was welcoming, accommodating and personalable. We loved getting to Know Danielle! (Prayers for Caden!) She made sure my Husband and I were filled up on coffee and drinks while we were enjoying our Homecooked meal. I cannot Say ENOUGH good things about this Beyond Hospitable Waitress. Actually, the whole entire team that we met, were just absolutely BEYOND REMARKABLE. From the ARMY dude "Johnson" to Mrs. Freda who sat us and also gave us Great Conversation... I would be BEYOND proud of this Homey Restaurant, if I were it's Owner. Freda gave us the Amazing background on how this place came to be about 14 years ago. And you can just hear how proud she is of this Beautiful Hidden Gem and how far it has come. Thank you for Freda, for the Great Welcoming atmosphere. You're so warm and your Service is Wonderful. "JOHNSON"- We hope to one day see your coat of many colors... and we are hoping to see your "New and Improved Military Attire!!" Haha!! We loved hearing the employees bless each other with Good, Edifying Words. We did Not hear ONE swear word. It's SO Family Friendly. They gave our Son like 6 crayons to color with, and d they have high chairs. Everything on the menu sounded SO delicious. My Husbamd and I were given gift certificates for Our Anniversary, so we had decided to "treat ourselves" with the Fried Green Maters and the Spinach Articoke Dip! HOLY COW. Their Spinach Artichoke recipe is better than mine... And the Fried Green Maters were just ABSOLUTELY MINDBLOWING. (This was our first time ever trying them- EVER) The Creamy Mustard they give you with it is smooth and tangy. Whereas the Ranch based sauce was our Favorite and Packed with Flavor that just intensified the flavor of the Maters!!! Astounding. We have never ate such Great Food. (The Burps were just as good!! Haha! ) The Quality and Price of the food are beyond Enjoyable. And VERY LOW PRICED!! The Philly Cheese steak was wonderful and My Husbands Reuban was SO big he couldn't even wrap his mouth around it. Safe to say, we left SO full. And with 4 boxes of Leftovers. We Cannot WAIT to come back. Get your Loved Ones ain't Certificate, and Prepare to have your minds BLOWN. WE WILL BE BACK SOON AND WE Are REALLY looking forward to it. The food was so delectable, we were sad when all the leftovers were gone.NEVER ATE FOOD THAT TASTY OR EVER HAD REMARKABLE SERVICE LIKE THAT. THE FOOD WAS SO GOOD, We even tipped the cooks. We have never had food taste like that, and we have been thinking about it ever since we went. Loved the Signage and Christian Music. This Place is Perfect. God Bless the Owners, Cooks, and ALL the Staff here at this Restaurant. My Recommendations: -FRIED GREEN TOMATOES WITH THE SAUCES... YOU'LL BE THINKING ABOUT IT FOR DAYS!! - Spinach Artichoke Dip!! I have NO words... -Coffee was brewed Fresh and Hot with Robust Taste! -Hot Dogs (for kids) with the Mac N Cheese... our Son LOVED it!! -The Steak Tips, with Onions and Peppers. LITERALLY cooked to Perfection. -The Reuban Sandwich!! -Anything you get, I guarantee will be SO Delicious. Pros: -Great, Quiet Location. Easy to Find with Maps! -The Coffee was Fresh and Flavorful. -Every SINGLE staff member was Courteous, BEYOND Hospitable, and Attentive. Loved forming the Relationships we Did. -BEST SERVICE WE HAVE EVER HAD. -Plenty of Parking -Great Decor, Funny Sinage, very Clean and Welcoming. (We saw People cleaning and taking Pride in their Restaurant when we went) -CHEAP PRICES WITH QUALITY FOOD AND TASTE...I cannot brag on this enough!!! -Portion Sizes will BLOW. YOUR .MIND. (If the Taste and service doesn't do that already.) -Family & Friendly Atmosphere that holds strong to Family and Christian Virtues/Values. Cons: - WHAT IS A CON?!? We Can't WAIT to be back! God Bless!! -The Kanevski's

For the appetizer I had the Double Dipper. The spinach dip lacked any flavor and the pimento cheese was ok. The bread points were just drowned in butter. The cucumbers were slimy and thinly sliced. Also it came with celery which I don't eat at all. The menu said fresh vegetables. I should have asked. My fault there. I got the French Broad Burger which was pretty good considering. Sweet potato fries were good too. The service was amazing! Everyone was so friendly!!! Went early on Saturday evening and unlike before it was slow but with the amount that was there it was a great little chatter time! We split the brisket sliders withe sweet potato fries and the brisket had a good flavor to it but I recommend getting their house BBQ sauce that was sweet with a fruity flavor but also made with veggies like carrots. It was excellent and I brought some home. What a great find for our outing here.

The pulled pork in my Sweet Carolina BBQ sandwich had the look and taste of long, slow cooking. Lots of color on the "bark", with a balanced mix of coarse chopped pieces and thinner shreds. I thought it slightly dry and maybe not as much smoke flavor as I'd like, but that could be the pitmaster's preference. Any dryness was fixed by adding some of the 4 available house-made sauces. I tried all and decided on the spicy barbecue. My meal arrived quickly, no more than 5 minutes at most. The sandwich comes with 1 side. I chose the potato salad, which was very good: mustardy and tangy with the potatoes "al dente." Two sizes were available, regular and large. I thought the regular was sufficient and a good deal at $11.50 with the side. The coleslaw was very small as usual, but, as it was intended to be put into the sandwich for the Sweet Carolina, was sufficient, and good. The menu also has burgers, ribs, wings, and some interesting sounding combination sandwiches. Like Fried Bologna BLT. And brisket. Wish I could have tried that. My only complaint is the menu is very sandwich-oriented. No way to order a plate: a meat and 2 sides, and maybe a slice of cornbread (actually hoe cakes here instead). Larger combo are available, like the Smoky B Sampler with ribs, 2 additional meats, garlic toast, and a side (just 1). Way too much for one person, and with just 1 side, not ideal for sharing either. Many interesting appetizers and small bites, including corn nuggets, fried pickles and green tomatoes, cheese curds with marinara. The inside was clean, a generic modern building. Outside tables were not set up - was it just too hot to sit outdoors? The floor could use some fixing up: it looked like they had scraped off carpeting and left the glue. Strange. Lots of TVs tuned to various sports, the sound turned off. Music playing at a medium level which I enjoyed. Very hard rock. How hard? 9.5 on the Mohs scale. And then all of a sudden it changed to Taylor Swift. That was jarring but ok. I like her too. Clientele at this midday hour seemed to be mostly working men on lunch break. I think I was the only one without blue jeans and a baseball cap. When I got up to pay at the counter my waitress reminded me that my drink (Coke) comes with a free refill in a go cup. I didn't really want more but she encouraged me so I was going to get ice water. I pressed the wrong button on the machine and got lemonade instead. Oh well, that's fine too.
