Nice decor with Morristown historical pics on the wall.

My husband and I come here a lot for lunch but today we brought our granddaughter for dinner. She's visiting from GA so she's never eaten here. My husband and I split the Margarita Chicken with a baked sweet potato and fried okra. Everything was delicious!! Our granddaughter ordered the Chicken Parmesan Penne. She loved it!! The chicken had a thick crust on it that was very crunchy with a good flavor. Our server, Lindsay, was very friendly, quick and efficient. Our granddaughter said she really loved the decor. It feels fancy, but it's casual.

While on a road trip, we met some relatives we hadn't seen in a few years at Holston's for dinner. This is a nice restaurant with a beautiful bar and great choices for dinner. The place is nicely decorated and has a nice vibe. We started with drinks and appetizers of spinach artichoke dip and fried green tomatoes. When in the South, you have to try fried green tomatoes, right? Our entrees ranged from burgers, creamy shrimp pesto, and the strawberry chicken salad. Everyone enjoyed their dinner, I thought my mushroom burger was very good! Service was friendly and prices reasonable. The restaurant is very convenient if you're traveling on I-81. I give it a thumbs up!

Margarita Chicken with the Baked Sweet Potato and Fried Okra

I went here for dinner with my grandparents at around 6:30 pm on a Monday. We were seated and greeted by Lindsay. She then took our food and drink order. I got the Chicken Parmesan Penne and my grandparents shared the Margarita Chicken with the Baked Sweet Potato and Fried Okra. I got the half sweet and half unsweet tea and my grandparents both got unsweetened tea. My food was delicious! The sauce on the pasta tastes like Alfredo with a hint of tomato. The chicken was lovely. It tasted like it was beer-battered and it had a slight spice taste to it. The tea was amazing, although it could have just a bit more sweetness. My grandparents seemed to like their meal. They enjoyed the diced tomatoes and onions with mozzarella cheese on top of the grilled chicken. They said the sweet potato was perfectly cooked and the okra was better than that served at Cracker Barrel, which they love. Lindsay was nice and checked on us frequently. The service was great! The ambiance was very pleasant! It looks like a fancy steakhouse. Overall, this was a phenomenal restaurant and I would definitely recommend trying it!

Outside

Every time I decide to come to this restaurant, I ask my wife, "Do you want to go to Holston's and eat outside?" Why? Because they have a nice outside area and we like to eat outside. That said, 10 times out of 10 times we come to the hostess and say, "we'd like to eat outside" the hostess ALWAYS makes it some kind of big deal. She'll always say, I don't know that we have any servers that can serve outside tonight. What???!!! So, "outside" is 15 steps from the closest inside booth. What's the issue??? It makes me feel like a nuisance because I want to eat in the outside area that THEY built and is on the front of the building. Tonight the hostess gave us attitude and also gave another couple, who wanted to eat outside, a hard time. She even HUFFED out loud when she walked by us. Wow. The food here is above average. Cheeseburgers are great. Are they enough to get me to come back to a place where I get the stink eye if I want to eat outside. ‍

Salad came with an extra dressing!

Another of my favorite is the tres leches. so I took a bite and I spit it right out it was disgusting. When I lifted up it was goopy and the three milks should not be goopy and it tasted like rotten milk it was disgusting. The third thing I got was a custard filled doughnut. At least that was soso. Someone on here on their review said the best authentic Mexican bakery... Yeah I don't think they've actually had legit Mexican bakery Products because this is not it.

Tlive more than an hour from this Mexican Bakery. However, this last time I stopped, the experience was not the same. My favorite was the cheese and jalapeño relleno bread. They also carry some with just cheese. So, I asked the employees which were the ones with jalapeños in them. The employee said they all had jalapeño's and cheese. I purchased two of them. When I arrived at home, the bread instead had chorizo and potatoes inside. The taste was so bad and cold. I was disappointed. So, I called the bakery hoping to get replacements of jalapeño and cheese whenever I have the opportunity to stop by there, since it wasn't my fault. The employee told me no. I told her I could take a photo and keep the receipt. Nope, she didn't care. In addition, since I live more than an hour away, I asked the employee for a box to place the bread in, so the frosting on the small cakes wouldn't get messed up. Upon, looking at my receipt at home to call them, I noticed I was charged $2.25 for a thin little box that one gets free for purchasing donuts at a donut shop. If the employee had told me that there is a charge for the box, I would've had her place the bread in bags instead. This Mexican bakery is not a place I recommend to buy from. Take your business elsewhere.

We found a table inside before it got too busy. It was a great place to sit a catch up with friends and enjoy some delicious food and coffee! I ordered the Greek omelet which came with toast (which I didn't get since I'm GF) and either a side of fruit or hash browns (I went with the fruit) and a sugar free hazelnut latte with almond milk. I had a difficult time deciding what to order because so many things on their menu looked amazing! Two of my other friends also got omelet's while one got the Nutella GF crepe. We all enjoyed our food and drinks thoroughly! I was also looking around at other tables to see what other people ordered and was oogling over what I saw. I don't think there's a bad choice on the menu here! The staff were all polite and kind. They kept up with the busy-ness (the line got pretty long around 10:30-11) where tables were cleaned off, dishes were taken away and we didn't have to wait long for our food or drinks. The cafe has a stylish inside with modern decor and some outdoor seating options for warmer weather. Inside, they also have a station where you put your garbage and dirty plates. At this station, you'll also find complimentary water with cups, extras for your coffee/tea and on the second shelf, there are condiments such as ketchup, hot sauce, BBQ sauce, etc. After this visit, my friends and I are 100% going to come back again for a girl's brunch!

But the creep itself was tasty I just threw the apples away. My daughter gobbled up her crêpe. The drinks were pretty tasty but they need to add more ice to those.

A friend and I decided to give it a try today and I'm so happy we did. My husband wouldn't go with me, saying it wasn't his "cup of tea"- pun intended. I stop there to say that, while there weren't any men eating there today, the menu can certainly satisfy anyone's craving. My husband probably would feel fine eating there if another couple went with us. I know without a doubt he would enjoy the food. My friend and I were seated at a table for two in the 2nd room, which was slightly dimmed from a lighting standpoint which gave it a nice ambiance in the midst of an already quaint atmosphere. Our server came right away and we ordered the Timeless Tea, which she said had a slight fruity taste. You could get it sweet, unsweetened or hot. We both chose iced and unsweetened. It was very tasty. I ordered one of the Tearoom specialties- Chicken Divan, which came with a green salad and Frozen Cherry. You could get any 2 sides if you chose to change them. I was intrigued by the Frozen Cherry salad so I kept the meal as listed. The frozen Cherry was very good- like a cherry gelatin with cream cheese mixed in. It was very good and not too sweet but I ate it as a dessert. The entire meal was great. The chicken divan was very hot and really delicious. I thought it might be very rich but it wasn't. It was full of chicken and broccoli and I couldn't even finish it because the dish was larger than it appeared. Did I mention that it was delicious? My friend ordered the Thursday special- grilled cheese with chips and tomato basil soup. The grilled cheese was different in that it came with bacon, lettuce, tomato and mayonnaise. She got it without the lettuce and tomato and said it was delicious. Our service and overall experience was great and I would definitely recommend this restaurant for a girl lunch or even a couple lunch, if your husband doesn't mind eating in a tea room.
