The coconut definitely comes through and gives it a tropical taste without taking away from the matcha. For lunch, I had the tomato basil soup with a side salad and garlic herb cheese bread. The soup was good and probably my favorite part of the meal. The bread was a little too cheesy for me, but overall everything paired well together. The atmosphere really stood out. It's cozy and welcoming and feels like the kind of place you can settle into for a while. I'd definitely come back. Since the Island Matcha was seasonal, I'm already eyeing the strawberry matcha for my next visit.

It was a bit too sweet, but the coffee itself was very nice. I'm a coffee snob and can't stand when coffee has that "burnt cigarette" taste. If you haven't discovered Reve Coffee Lab yet, I have one question: are you okay? (Seriously, go…read morecheck them out.) This place was basically my second home during undergrad. I'm pretty sure the baristas remember my order better than I do. Here's what makes Reve worth the visit: - The coffee is legitimately phenomenal. They're all about quality over quantity, using science-based brewing and traditional standards to craft coffee that actually tastes like they care. Because they do. If instant gratification is your thing, Starbucks is down the street. If you want good coffee, you're in the right place. - The baristas actually know their stuff. They'll help you find exactly what you're looking for without making you feel clueless. Fair warning though: this is their coffee shop, and they're respectfully enthusiastic about doing things right. Treat them like the humans they are, and you'll have a genuinely great interaction. - The vibe hits different. It's cozy and intimate inside (compact in the best way), but if the weather's nice, the patio is where it's at--plenty of space, zero stress. Work, study, hang out with friends--it all just works here. If you care about good coffee, good people, and a space that actually feels like somewhere you'd want to be, Reve Coffee Lab is your spot.

My husband had an omelette with peppers and bacon, and he really enjoyed it. It's Simple as the name suggests…read more Nothing fancy or elaborate about this place. It's a small restaurant with a small open kitchen and a small dining room where you stand in line to place your order, get a number to put on your table, and servers bring the food to your table when it's ready. So, if you're looking for a large upscale, elegant restaurant with elaborate food presentations, this is not the place for you. But if you're looking for a simple, quick and delicious meal, Simple Joe Café is for you. The menu consists of a wide variety of breakfast favorites, but the menu is not intimidating and easy to read and order from. Simple enough. When my family and I arrived, the small dining room was packed with a few open tables and about six other customers in line waiting to place their order. On Saturday and Sunday, you cannot sit at the open tables or hold the tables until you have placed your order and given a tent number. At that point, the servers will help you find a table to accommodate your party. The employees do a very good job of clearing and turning over the tables to make sure everyone is seated and able to enjoy their meal in a timely manner. I am not a fan of breakfast food and normally don't eat breakfast, so I only had coffee while my family enjoyed their meal, so the food quality part of this review is based on what they described as they were eating. They each ordered Joe's Number One Breakfast Combos which came with two eggs, choice of meat and pancakes and they shared an order of hashbrown and a side of grits. The food came out quickly. They stated everything was fresh, prepared and cooked as requested, the food tasted very good and enjoyed every bite. Of course, the coffee was hot, and fresh and the service was fast and friendly. The relaxed ambience and decor add to the unique character of the restaurant. Date of Visit: Saturday 05-16-26 Simple Joe Café | 3057 Government St, Baton Rouge, LA

But, I decided to be basic and get the cold brew with cold foam. It was so good! I finished it in less than 10 minutes lol. The barista was really helpful in helping me decide what I want. I didn't wait long for my coffee either. There wasn't a ton of people in here (about three) but the service was fast, tables were clean, and there were tons of places to sit. There was a lot more than coffee here too. They had a whole glass container filled with cake pops! Even gluten free ones, which I appreciate. There were smoothie options too. I will be back forsure!
