The shmorgusboard of truffles! They sell on multi packs or smaller sizes or just get a different one every day. :)

Brew Ha Ha is the perfect mix of great coffee, fun vibes, and dangerously good treats. The drinks are top-notch, and the truffles? Unreal. Friendly staff, cozy space, and a menu that keeps you coming back. If you love caffeine and chocolate, this place is a must-visit! Oh and bring your own coffee cup and it's only 1$!!!

Paleo chocolate chip banana bread. Really hard and dry

We came here because we saw there were gluten free options. I got the paleo (gluten free and dairy free) chocolate chip banana bread. I was so disappointed. Banana bread is not something that should ever be dry. This was so hard I could barely get my spoon through it and it was super, super dry. My husband got the peanut butter chocolate chip cookie. He also complained it was dry and didn't really taste like peanut butter. Other gluten free options: chocolate chip brownie, cake balls (red velvet, wedding cake and funfetti). Please note all of these contain dairy.

No hot meals that I know of but they always have cakes, cookies, cake balls and fruit. Folks are always helpful. And this is the OG spot for short meetups and study sessions.

Yes, I picked the place due to their name. I was heading through Baton Rouge, and I knew I would need a caffeine pick me up. There were a few different choices, but this one sounded interesting. I ended up having a gingerbread latte, which was good but not OMG blow you away level. I also picked up a couple of their cake balls, which again were good, but they were pretty much what you'd expect from a local coffee shop. Bottom line, if you happen to be in Baton Rouge and want to go somewhere local for just coffee and/or cake balls, it's worth a stop. I don't know that I would drive out of my way, though.

I came to this place for the first time today. My husband bought the cake pops from here a few times before and today I went there with him. I didn't expect the ambiance at this place. It was so peaceful. It has the vibes of where people can come to sit around and do their work or have simple work meet or so. I had their iced mocha and my husband had dirty chai - spicy both are right on spot. Loved them. Coming to the cakeballs (cakepops), there are so many flavors. We got a dozen of them with 6 different flavors and all of them were such a hit with my girls. They were asking when can we go back. So need to plan to go back... this place is worth it.

I read about Brew Ha Ha on Yelp, of course and knew I had to visit while I was visiting Baton Rouge. Me, being a sucker for a clever name that I am knew they already had me. I just love the atmosphere here. They have local art covering the walls and if you particularly love a specific piece they are for sale The first time I visited I got a frozen lemonade and a couple of cake balls since at the time I wasn't a huge coffee drinker. The lemonade was so sweet and refreshing and the cake balls were delicious (lemon almond coconut and devils food) but the star of the show was the lemonade for sure. On my most recent visit I tried an iced coffee and picked up a couple of the local jellies for gifts. I enjoyed my coffee...it was not bitter and gave me the little pick up I needed. If you're in the area go check out Brew Ha Ha!

Dirty chai (which is chai with an extra shot of espresso)

A wonderful coffee shop! I came in on a Sunday morning, and immediately felt a positive vibe when I was pleasantly greeted by the barista. Furthermore, a display case filled with cake balls provides a nice welcome to guests coming in. There is a large selection of various types of cake balls available. On the signboard, there is a listing of coffee, teas, and other breakfast/pastry items available that day. I ordered a cake ball and a dirty chai, which is a chai with an additional shot of espresso. The cake balls come in two sizes, while the drinks come in three. I opted for a smallest of each. The prices are competitive to most other gourmet coffee shops. The barista made my order right away. There is a small station in the corner for additional sugar, cream, etc. The dining area is quite large but cozy with various paintings and artistic photography available from local artists for sale. There is a Little Free Library in the corner as well as a record player. WiFi is free and strong. There is a diverse range of patrons there, from students to professionals, to retirees, all enjoying coffee and cake in the morning. The dirty chai was at a good temperature and tasted wonderful, as was the cake ball! Overall, Brew Ha Ha was a wonderful experience and I will certainly return when I am in the area!

I got the Thai tea and it was delicious. I also got minicakes in wedding cake and oreo flavor.

This could have been a picture of Primo Toast, but I ate it .

First time here and now I'm going to have to be a regular, GREAT. I was really hoping it would suck or just be "okay" so that every morning when I pass it I could keep to my intermittent fasting goals but here I am. Eating the Primo Toast and not fasting. I ate it so fast I forgot to take a picture of the beautiful, delicious, piece of art that was simply avocado toast with an egg. It was beautiful, you'll have to take my word for it. Definitely recommend this place for breakfast and coffee!

Customer service was good, so was the food. The ballbuster (cake ball was good). Nice & quiet coffee shop. Very spacious there's a lot of room to have multiple meetings.

My husband had an omelette with peppers and bacon, and he really enjoyed it. It was fluffy, generously filled, and cooked just right, with great smoky flavor from the bacon and a nice kick from the peppers. The service was friendly, the food came out quickly, and the whole experience felt warm and welcoming. Definitely a great local spot for a hearty, satisfying meal.

It's a small restaurant with a small open kitchen and a small dining room where you stand in line to place your order, get a number to put on your table, and servers bring the food to your table when it's ready. So, if you're looking for a large upscale, elegant restaurant with elaborate food presentations, this is not the place for you. But if you're looking for a simple, quick and delicious meal, Simple Joe Café is for you. The menu consists of a wide variety of breakfast favorites, but the menu is not intimidating and easy to read and order from. Simple enough. When my family and I arrived, the small dining room was packed with a few open tables and about six other customers in line waiting to place their order. On Saturday and Sunday, you cannot sit at the open tables or hold the tables until you have placed your order and given a tent number. At that point, the servers will help you find a table to accommodate your party. The employees do a very good job of clearing and turning over the tables to make sure everyone is seated and able to enjoy their meal in a timely manner. I am not a fan of breakfast food and normally don't eat breakfast, so I only had coffee while my family enjoyed their meal, so the food quality part of this review is based on what they described as they were eating. They each ordered Joe's Number One Breakfast Combos which came with two eggs, choice of meat and pancakes and they shared an order of hashbrown and a side of grits. The food came out quickly. They stated everything was fresh, prepared and cooked as requested, the food tasted very good and enjoyed every bite. Of course, the coffee was hot, and fresh and the service was fast and friendly. The relaxed ambience and decor add to the unique character of the restaurant. Date of Visit: Saturday 05-16-26 Simple Joe Café | 3057 Government St, Baton Rouge, LA

We ordered two coffees, which came out about 10 minutes later. After that, things went downhill. There was a grandmother with three young grandchildren seated at the table next to us. Their table was directly in the sun, and the metal chairs were literally too hot to sit on. They asked if they could move to one of the 3-4 open booths in the shade. The waitress told them those booths were reserved. The problem? Not a single person sat in those booths during the entire hour and a half we were there. The solution offered to the grandmother was, "Next time, try making a reservation." They ultimately had to leave and find somewhere else to eat. Watching a grandmother and three little kids have to leave because an empty shaded table was being "reserved" was honestly pretty upsetting. Meanwhile, we waited an hour and a half for our food. We ordered an omelet and a breakfast burrito--nothing complicated, no substitutions, and nothing that should reasonably take that long. When the food finally arrived, it was mediocre at best. The overall atmosphere felt less 'charming and quirky' and more like a run-down, cluttered junkyard that's been intentionally styled to look eclectic. It has that very curated 'quirky' aesthetic where things that would normally look unfinished or out of place are apparently part of the charm. I really wanted to like this place, but between the unnecessarily long wait, mediocre food, and the way that family was treated, I can't say I'd recommend it. There are plenty of brunch spots where you can get better food and much better service without waiting 90 minutes.

The service was unfriendly, the food was overpriced, and the overall experience was disappointing from start to finish. We had a party of six and were charged a "large party fee," which would have been fine if it had been explained upfront. Then there was an additional fee just for using a card. I ordered the table beignets, and they tasted more like fried biscuits than the beignets they used to serve. My son ordered a chicken waffle and was asked if he wanted bacon(2pc) on the side, assuming it came with the meal, only to later find out it was an extra charge that was never explained. I ordered the shrimp and grits, which used to be my favorite dish here, and it was terrible. The only flavor was Worcestershire sauce and green onions. Nothing about it tasted fresh or balanced. The restaurant itself was not clean. The floors were sticky, and the tables were so wobbly our drinks kept sloshing out. We finally had to shove napkins under the table leg just to keep it stable. To top it off, we never received one of the drinks we ordered or the extra bread we asked for. For just me and my son to eat brunch, the bill came to over $72. I truly hate leaving bad reviews, but between the poor attitudes, dirty floors, lack of service, surprise fees, and bad food, this place earned it. There are too many better brunch spots in Baton Rouge to waste your money here. And one last thing -- if you're going to charge a party fee, charge it fairly across the table instead of sticking certain people with more because they ordered more food. Do better.
