A beautiful shop to get dessert and other pastries! They have a lot of options to pick from, we got the cupcake, Matcha, cake, and one macaron. The Matcha was lackluster, and I already knew that coming in based off of the pictures. The favorite was the strawberry cake that I ordered, not too sweet and had lots of flavors and textures. The macaron itself was pretty good too! The cupcake was a bit too sweet for me. Delicious dessert shop! Sucre offers a wide array of beautifully handcrafted desserts and sweet treats. The atmosphere is excellent, exceptionally clean and welcoming, with the most amazing aroma as soon as you walk in. The service is consistently great, and everything we've tried has been just as delicious as what we've had at their New Orleans location. The quality is truly top-notch, and the cost reflects that. In my opinion, it's absolutely worth it, though the price point might feel a little high for the Baton Rouge market. This dessert shop was beautiful inside. There's seating and private rooms with seating as well. The service was nice and helpful. The strawberry cupcake ($7) was amazing. Not super sweet, very moist, nice icing to cake ratio. The cheesecake ($12) was an extremely smooth consistency, although the flavor was a bit too mild to me. Beautiful beautiful place!! I felt like I was in another city! Fancy!! The staff were so friendly. I ended up getting one of the cake squares and it was good. I was able to try one of the ice creams. It was good. They also have gelato. I saw muffins, cookies, coffee, etc. I will definitely return with my daughter to try additional items. They have two cute areas/rooms for more privacy. It's the same as the New Orleans locations... and that's a GREAT thing! The location is well suited as it's very close to, but not too close, to the very busy sections of the Baton Rouge business scene making it ideal for picking up some quick, sweet treats to share with co-workers and friends! The staff are just as wonderful and knowledgeable as the other locations in NOLA that we've grown to love. Closing later in the evening is a plus, as some of us have busy work days and deserve a gelato + macaroon treat at 8pm! They have a revolving selection of specialty dessert items that will absolutely capture your attention on social media, as we tried the cheesecake dessert and it was the BOMB! We left with an assortment of macaroons and plan to come back again to try out cupcake and gelato pairings! We're SOOO EXCITED this wonderful shop can now be found in Baton Rouge! read more

For those who fondly remember Sucre in NOLA - pass on its new incarnation in BR. Missing from the menu are the interesting candies and pastries. Maybe it's the new ownership or too much expansion but the product offerings are just also-ran and unevenly executed. I sampled several items and was shocked that the madeleines I purchased were dry and stale. read more
