Well, the sweetest smells of spring are up and coming!! This is a lovely cafe to sit down, chillax and just enjoy that! During the first portion of my morning, I sat outside for a meeting I had. They have a beautifully spacious patio/courtyard area that has plenty of shade, too! I guess you can call me a cafe junkie because I spend a majority of my days at a coffee shop using as my satellite office. Large cafe... parking can be a challenge during a busy day. I came here in mid-morning and stayed until about 1:30pm and was happy to see the cafe was still very busy throughout the duration of my stay. It was such a lovely day to enjoy a cafe latte with soy milk, so I did just that. They had a lovely array of cafe pastries. I can honestly say that I am not really a morning pastry kind of girl, but for those that love them, you will have several to choose from. The customer service was very friendly and they were also very patient with me, as I was deciding what to order. My only complaint was the parking situation. A great place for a meet up!

Overall, I enjoyed my time here, though I was disappointed by the service and the scones. My friend and I went in to kill some time, and he decided to get some work done. I picked it because I used to drive by it all the time on my way to work, and the building is tucked away behind a beautiful patio surrounded by pretty plants. When you walk in, the first thing you notice is the front counter is loaded with treats. There are cookies and cakes and other pastries. The prices are reasonable, two pastries and two medium drinks came out to about $13. I had the White Chocolate Raspberry scone. While I enjoyed the flavor, it was almost like eating a brick of scone -- way too dense. It was also really weird that I could not find a menu that listed what baked goods they had and how much they cost. Also, only some of the pastries are labeled. So...you can have surprise cake! The barista was also a bit snobby. She did not know that I had spent 6 years working as a barista, so I knew what drinks were. As I had never been to this coffee shop before, I had some questions, but she was condescending when I tried to ask about various drink options and their drink recipes. This is the main reason I am only giving them 3 stars.

It's a serene place to hang out in the evenings. Ideal for a romantic chat, gossip with friend, read and/or browse. There is plenty of room to sit around - inside with light music or outside in the greenery. Coffee is authentic and good but the only downside is even for dine in, it's served in a disposable cup as against a ceramic ones. We had a cappuccino and a mocha with the turtle cake. Cappuccino is good while Mocha is Ok. The cale is delicious, rich in chocolate, creamy and nutty. I would recommend this place to hang out often.

This is a wonderful local coffee shop near the Garden District. This shop has different coffees, teas, scones, cakes and cookies. I am guilty of buying the blueberry scone every time I go in for a mocha. It is delicious!!! Chances are if you're from Baton Rouge you'll probably see someone you know! They have indoor and outdoor seating. It is very relaxed and laid-back. They even have T-shirts that you can purchase to show the world how much you love Garden District coffees! So next time you're looking for a excellent local coffee shop with a great environment, swing on by for a Hot or cold beverage and a yummy sweet pastry! Enjoy!!!

I liked this place. The porch looked inviting but it was full when we went. It was also super hot so maybe when it cools down. My Americano was perfect and so was the service. The prices are fair. They have a lot of alternatives for milk such as soy and almond milk. The scones are the real deal. They also roast the beans on-site which I am a huge fan of. I will certainly come back.

Hidden away neighborhood place, but worth our drive to visit from South Baton Rouge. Loved their granita.

Great coffee and some of the best pastries in Baton Rouge. The blueberry lemon pound cake is life changing.

Based on the reviews and seeing that this place roasted their own coffee I was very excited to try it but it left much to be desired. Walked in to a very lively coffee shop, lots of students and they had a very nice sized space. Service was bleh, not very friendly just kind of like "what do you want attitude". Not sure if the college students employed are a little stressed out but you are in the service industry, give people a good experience! Ordered a pour over and an oatmeal cream pie. The pour over was good! Whoever is roasting did a great job highlighting the origin flavors of that coffee and it was brewed well thanks to the automated brewing system they had. The oatmeal cream pie was nothing special. A little hard and couldn't tell if it was old or just a recipe used that made it dense. The worst part for me was at the area you pick up drinks, it was messy and because of that mess there were a lot of little fruit fly looking things flying around. Not the best look for an establishment serving food and coffee. I really wanted to like this place. My coffee was great but a coffee shop is more than the cup. It's the whole experience and unfortunately, it was lacking. If I'm ever back in the area I'd give it a second try to see if it was a one off or not.

It means so much to have found my new go-to coffee spot when I'm back in BR. The space itself is perfectly warm, clean, and welcoming. Everything is curated to make you feel like you belong. The coffee, tea, and food choices are perfect. I grabbed an espresso shot and cinnamon roll to stay and an iced matcha latte to go. The espresso was nicely dialed in, the notes were present and the barista served it wonderfully. The cinnamon roll was warmed up and freshly iced before being served. The matcha was so good, and a great choice to takeaway as a treat. The staff here really goes beyond to provide excellent service. This is my new go-to coffee spot in Baton Rouge. Thanks Coffee Joy!

The menu is thoughtfully curated, featuring seasonal items, genuinely fresh pastries, and excellent savory options. The equipment used to prepare both coffee and tea is top-of-the-line, and the quality shows in every cup. The olives pogača (pronounced pasha in Turkish), topped with sea salt, is truly unique--fluffy, rich, and deeply satisfying. The baklava is served warm and is remarkably soft and easy to enjoy, unlike the usually firm, layered texture you expect. There's also an impressive tea selection with real flavor, loose-leaf options, and specialty coffees, including French press with a choice of beans. Honestly, this place feels like a luxury for this town.
