Honestly, wasn't expecting to like this chai as much as I did. The barista was also really nice. The inside of the location (tables/chairs) could prolly use a little love, but that didn't take away from the quality of my beverage.

Coffee choices diverse, pastries average, prices moderate, friendliness below par ( we went 4 days in a row bc it was across from our hotel in walking distance)-BEWARE check dates on chips they were 6 months old we had to spit them out ( we were there Thanksgiving weekend and these were dated August and another bag May. When I told them the next day they looked and noticed they had a bag with May but no refund offered. Service lacking. Ambiance was typical of a small coffee shop-cleanliness lacking .

PJ's Coffee is pleasant enough, and got the job done when we wanted a quick caffeine fix and breakfast. As my companion pointed out, it's the sort of place that's in the first floor of a condo unit, just because the owner wants to list it as an amenity - nice, but not worth going out of the way for. Breakfast sandwiches (sausage and egg, might've been cheese too, on English muffin) and chocolate muffins seemed to be microwaved and kind of dry and boring. I would've preferred having the bread toasted. Coffee drinks were fine; add-in flavors were the artificial-flavor sort in the big pump bottles. An in-house "nitro bar" was closed due to low demand during COVID.

PJs is one of Downtown's original coffee shops. This coffee company started out in New Orleans, so it is Louisiana-local. They are conveniently located at the corner of Convention and Lafayette Streets, right by the beautiful Lafayette Park. They are by the Shaw Center for the Arts, and two quality hotels. They are near it all downtown! Coffee and teas are the main attraction of course. I love their lattes year round, and in summer there are the beautiful velvet ices and iced coffees. I like to check out the rotating specials, which often are interesting and different. Last time I visited they were featuring honey lavender drinks, which make a most excellent velvet ice. They always have some nice baked goods on hand, from savory to sweet. There are also some other nice snacks on hand. My personal favorite is the dark chocolate covered espresso beans! The interior is cozy, and has a great view of the outdoors. There is a small courtyard outside with outdoor tables, but I think if one wants to be outdoors the Shaw Center Courtyard or Lafayette Park are the places to be.

I come here every Tuesday to study. Love the environment! The Cajun Sandwich is something I look forward to every week. Would much rather take the drive downtown than drink the CC's coffee on campus.

This shop was right by the hotel we stayed at and was the perfect place to get our coffee/pastries before hitting the road back to TX. The staff was friendly and made our drinks quickly. They were helpful explaining the menu when we didn't know exactly what everything was.

It came warm in a giant cappuccino mug and I don't even think she steamed the milk (the picture is actually how it came, I didn't touch it yet). They pride themselves on their coffee and I was impressed that they even had a flat white on the menu so I had high hopes. I also ordered the poached egg on the biscuit which came out as a hard boiled egg on top of a stale biscuit. I asked for an egg that wasn't " hard-boiled" and guess what came back on top... a mini quiche. I could see the confusion though, the cook probably thought that I wanted an egg prepared a different way than before. Anyway, the cheese on it wasn't even melted and the arugula was slimy like cooked spinach. Coffee egg cheese biscuit arugula . The only thing I ate was the old dry bacon. One out of five elements of that was edible. On another note, the atmosphere is very nice and it has a cool vibe. It has a really good potential, just poorly executed.

Based on the reviews and seeing that this place roasted their own coffee I was very excited to try it but it left much to be desired. Walked in to a very lively coffee shop, lots of students and they had a very nice sized space. Service was bleh, not very friendly just kind of like "what do you want attitude". Not sure if the college students employed are a little stressed out but you are in the service industry, give people a good experience! Ordered a pour over and an oatmeal cream pie. The pour over was good! Whoever is roasting did a great job highlighting the origin flavors of that coffee and it was brewed well thanks to the automated brewing system they had. The oatmeal cream pie was nothing special. A little hard and couldn't tell if it was old or just a recipe used that made it dense. The worst part for me was at the area you pick up drinks, it was messy and because of that mess there were a lot of little fruit fly looking things flying around. Not the best look for an establishment serving food and coffee. I really wanted to like this place. My coffee was great but a coffee shop is more than the cup. It's the whole experience and unfortunately, it was lacking. If I'm ever back in the area I'd give it a second try to see if it was a one off or not.

The equipment used to prepare both coffee and tea is top-of-the-line, and the quality shows in every cup. The olives pogača (pronounced pasha in Turkish), topped with sea salt, is truly unique--fluffy, rich, and deeply satisfying.
