Its a small coffee shop with tons of customers in the high paced area of Thames St. Today they collaborated with the local school and run group and created a memory with energy. With the large crowd they still stayed upbeat and good to the customers. I stood in line but unfortunately it was too long of a wait. There were many folks around and sipping but I hope to grab a drink on another go around.
This is a pretty affordable coffee shop with a lot of different options of drinks, sandwiches, and pastries. The service was good and the wait time was average for a coffee shop. The inside is pretty spacious and is a lot bigger than what it looks like from the outside. They even have an outdoor patio in the back.
I stopped in quickly for an ice coffee. The service was quick and efficient, but the iced coffee was just okay. Not the best I have ever had, but it was priced very well. With that, they have a spacious shop with plenty of seating in the back areas and wifi. I said I would go back soon to complete some work there and actually try some of the many sandwiches they have on their menu.
I came here on a Wednesday early afternoon, and it was not crowded. In fact there was only one other person working on their computer. I got a Cortado ($3.75), which is what I usually get from Starbucks except when I received my drink, it was lukewarm. This is before I even added the milk. Personally that's a huge pet peeve for me when my HOT coffee is not hot. The ice coffee ($4.25) was good. It had good coconut flavor. However, the lid did not fit on the coffee cup. It kept snapping off. I also got the Crispy Italiano sandwich which had pepperoni, ham, roasted red peppers, provolone, and onion on a sliced baguette. The sandwich was listed as $8.95, but she rang it up as $10.95 and charged me two extra dollars for bacon which I never asked for. I told her I don't want bacon in my sandwich but she said that it doesn't have bacon that's just how it rings up. It wasn't until the manager had to step in and put in the custom amount for my sandwich. When I did get my sandwich the bread was pretty stale and hard to eat. I also noticed that the onions were chopped up imperfectly (all different sizes). I also got the Chipotle Chicken Avocado ($9.95). It came out pretty messy with the avocado smeared everywhere. Literally the whole sandwich was falling apart (see picture). While the interior is nice, the coffee and food just did not do it for me. The bathrooms were clean, except for the fact that the hand soap was completely watered down. Not sure if I would come back here again.
I tried this spot again, and I wasn't disappointed. During this visit, my dog was offered a pup cup, which was a sweet gesture, especially since I was told they didn't have pup cups during my last visit. A great alternative coffee shop, though they are on the pricier side, so definitely not a daily visit.
Loved the exposed brick and archways which I believe is the original architectural design. The service was polite and efficient. I got the lox and jalapeños bagel and it was amazing. Normally with lox it goes with an everything bagel but the recommendation of the jalapeño was perfect. I would definitely recommend.
Friendly staff! Amazing coffee - I got the Ferraro Rocher latte! It wasn't too sweet & definitely could taste the espresso. My friend also got their early grey iced tea which was also delicious and refreshing.
Fantastic service two days in a row with fabulous breakfast fare for all of us. Allow me to recap! Day one was just me and my husband who were thankful for somewhere opened on Thanksgiving morning for coffee and breakfast. We both enjoyed a dirty chai - delicious! I had Jewish rye toast with one of the best homemade hummus sides ever. My husband scarfed down his everything bagel egg & cheese breakfast sandwich. The prices are so fair. The food so excellent. The service so quick and friendly. Day two we had six of us and everyone LOVED their food. From croissant breakfast sandwiches to bagel sandwiches.
Good service and decent coffee. Pastries and food are mediocre at best. All of the pastries we ordered seemed to be slightly stale and hard. The sandwiches were okay. Good if you're in a pinch, way more on the casual side.
Got iced matcha latte and iced shaken espresso within a span of a week to study. Matcha latte didn't have enough matcha for my taste so it mainly tasted like milk. Iced shaken espresso was not sweet so I got what I ordered- it was balanced well. Both times were in the afternoon during the week. I liked that it was spacious with not busy crowd. However, when people talk, you can hear them as the voice echos and travels to different nooks of the shop. It is a great social space but not the best studying spot (unless you can tune out very well).
Great americano. I didn't know there was an inside cafe space so I hung out outside at the table to people watch. I also saw a door with outside service and a menu so I assumed I could order there or at least get my take out coffee there. I ordered online and got my order quick. I figured out there was a door to go inside and I picked up my coffee. They serve food which I will have to try another time. I like the ambience inside and it's a lot bigger than I expected inside.
The Daily Grind is a small local chain in Baltimore, and their location in Fells Point is one of my favorites to go to! The ambiance is really relaxed inside; there's a small indoor courtyard in the middle of the restaurant which is airy and scattered with a few plants in the window sills. It's a lovely place to catch up with a friend or go on a casual date, and especially works well to cowork, as they have a stable internet connection here. I ordered the egg and cheese bagel on multigrain, and the Ferrero rocher espresso with almond milk. I have ordered the espresso a few times, and it never disappoints. The Bagel was plain but tasty; I was able to get a full breakfast for about $10, which is a good deal around Fells. I have tried their turkey sandwich before on rosemary bread, which I wouldn't necessarily recommend (there was no mayo or toppings on it which made it dry). The servers here are usually pretty chill, sometimes seem a little indifferent, but their service is still good. Overall, if you're in the area, I'd recommend checking it out.
Reviews are mixed. Many praise the friendly staff and spacious seating. People also enjoy the wide drink selection and sandwiches.

[This review was made in 08/2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic] What a cute and convenient place to get a cold brew on a hot day! I was really craving a cold brew coffee but they had much more than cold brew to choose from. Service was fast and I have absolutely no complaints here. For COVID, you have the option to go inside and order or use the window that opens to the outside to order. My friends and I only realized this after we ordered our drinks inside! read more

We stopped by on a Saturday Monday after browsing the farmer's market to enjoy the views! The service was fast and friendly, food was good, drinks refreshing, but most importantly, the view from the tables outside of the water was perfect! read more
RECOMMENDATION: Ferreror Rocher Mocha - I had actually asked if the drink is pretty sweet and they asked if I wanted it less sweet :-) I just happened to find this place as a close walk to my friend's place and I am so glad I did! What a neat layout with delicious drinks, pastries/snacks, free wifi, lots of seating and plenty of options and customizations for your drink! If I was staying longer, this would have been a daily stop for me and definitely a place I would love to sit and work or study. read more

The Daily Grind coffeehouse at 1720 Thames St, Baltimore, Maryland is a cool little spot. The front area has plenty of seating along with the coffee bar and bakery itself. The back area too where the restrooms are is tucked away and a great spot to read, check up on emails, collect your thoughts, or any other work. Not to mention, right across the street from the new Sagamore Pendry Baltimore Hotel being built. I was pleasantly surprised with the Daily Grind and will most certainly be back! I came here for coffee before our Urban Pirates boat ride at 11:00 AM which was nearby. I got an iced coffee and it was pretty good. The seating area was not clean though and I doubt they clean it regularly. There were newspapers everywhere and the tables were dirty. The restroom (women and men) key is by the cashier. The bathrooms were really dirty as well. I also doubt they clean it regularly either. It was fine for a quick coffee to go but I doubt I would spend time there. read more

I love the options of all the coffees, teas, sandwiches, and pastries. I also loved the abundance of tables and chairs with outlets; I was able to comfortably sit, enjoy my coffee, and work on my laptop on Saturday morning. read more
Standard coffee shop with a variety of hot and cold drinks as well as an assortment of baked goods including cookies and muffins. Seems to be a relaxing place for lots of people in the heart of Fells but the two times I've been here the staff was not too friendly. Another time I tried to come with friends online it said they were open til 8pm, a hand written sign on the door said they were open til 7pm but upon entering at 6:15pm for a hot coffee we were told all coffee had been dumped and were closing at 6:30pm...definitely feel this is unorganized and could have at least been communicated on the hand written sign on the door or maybe the employee was closing extra early? Either way if you are in need of coffee and something sweet you can stop in for reasonable prices otherwise I wouldn't go out of my way to come here. read more
Great bagel sandwiches. Got a lox with cream cheese on everything bagel and sausage, egg, and cheese on wheat. Only thing we'd change is a slightly larger sausage patty (doesn't come close to spanning the length of the bagel). We didn't get any coffee this time since we'd already had some on our leisurely Saturday walk, but I'll definitely get some when I return for another bagel sandwich read more

Visited there on Saturday morning, tried their new matcha latte and latte. The drinks were good, and I especially loved the matcha latte, which is not sweet and has actual matcha flavor. The inside is way more spacey than it looks from outside, I think it is perfect place to do your work or read books. read more
This is one of my favorite coffee shops in the city. It's so cute inside and has a lot of space for people to set up camp and get some work done. The coffee is really good and they have soy and almond milk. They also have nutmeg which I love to sprinkle in my coffee! The staff is very kind here and the service is very quick. I plan on going back to try some of their baked goods and sandwiches which I hear are fantastic! read more

The daily grind is my favorite coffee shop in Fells. they're always really efficient with orders and always greet you with a smile! I especially love in the mild and hot summer seasons that they have an outside door for when folks are taking their dogs for a walk. Are generous with little cheese snacks for your pup's too! You can sit outside and people watch and take in the view or step in the doors and check out local artists on the walls, pop up your laptop and get some work done. They offer free Wi-Fi get the password at checkout. Be sure to check out the assortment of different flavored coffee beans you can take home, not to mention the chocolate covered espresso beansfor a little extra kick in the middle of your day! read more

This is an example of what happens when apathy collides with ignorance. I stopped by on Father's Day to relax for a few minutes before meeting my party for a celebratory brunch at another venue. Always interested in trying out a new coffeehouse and reading some positive reviews left me cautiously optimistic. First impressions were not positive. Dated decor, dimly lit anti-room, dirty corners, scratched walls, and a general lack of attention created a grimy dive-bar feel. Pressing [stubbornly] on, I asked the "barista" what their espresso of the day was; my litmus test for any establishment serving coffee. She paused before finally answering, "a blend." That should have been my cue to leave. Many coffeehouses are experimenting with novel combinations, roasts and origins so you never know creativity might be available until you ask. Sadly when asked about what type of beans in this mysterious combo, she did not know and mentioned that they were not Arabica. Thank God! I shudder to think what murky concoction would have been served had they been using a variety barely suitable instant Walmart coffee. Steeling myself, I order the espresso. A few minutes later a tea cup containing a few ounces of something with a milk chocolate colored crema was sloshed in front of me. Wrong vessel and no style. The first sip told me everything I needed to know: bitter, acidic, almost acrid and no nuance of flavor. I immediately took it back and explained what went wrong because clearly they didn't know how to spot or assess a bad espresso. They offered to remake it and I rather kindly suggested a refund might be a better option. They complied and the person said, as they handed me back my cash, "Oh well. Our coffee isn't for everyone." Final Verdict: The staff exhibited a lack of knowledge, a lack of passion, and a lack of understanding. Almost every fixture was covered in thick layers of dust and the bathroom was just grody with tags than Instagram. The local artwork was nifty and tables seem to be in good repair saving them a star. read more

This has the potential to be an awesome establishment, especially for those able to work from home and go use coffee shops. Tons of seating and pretty good drinks. I only had a mocha and water, so I can't comment on anything else on the menu. There is outdoor and indoor seating with a bunch of tables and free wifi. Unfortunately, the place has a terrible work environment due to the homeless guy sleeping in the corner with a bloody forehead. The barista tried to throw him out, but it was a half-hearted attempt, and was not successful. The guy needs to go even if the cops have to be called. Not sure why people want to eat food in here with some guy bleeding on the table in the corner. After sitting here for a bit I am heading to find a better place to to do my work. The bathrooms are kept under lock and key due to people trashing them, or at least that is what the sign on the door says. You have to get a key from the barista in order to use them. Even under lock and key it looks like some past customers have had a lot of fun drawing on the walls of the restroom. Don't really mind the drawing as the restroom is kept clean. If you sit at the front tables or at the outdoor tables you have a great view of the water and can people watch all the Fells Point tourists and citizens. If they actually kicked out the homeless guy(s) and had a barista wipe down the tables on a regular basis I would actually come work here on a regular basis... read more
Daily Grind is really my first coffee shop. Growing up in Baltimore and going to college here, I would frequent Daily Grind... really not assessing what an independent coffee shop was in comparison to Starbucks or Dunkin. When I really started becoming a coffee/coffee shop snob, I realized why I liked this place. The problem with Daily Grind isn't the service, which is always good... or the food or coffee, which are par for independent coffee shops... it's the venue itself. For as much as I love going here out of tradition, Daily Grind kinda smells... bad... all. the. time. Today, it was humid and warm inside... worse than outside. So my friends and I grabbed an outdoor table, which was cool. The bathroom situation has always not been good. They once had a homeless-taking-a-shower issue with the men's room... perhaps it's psychological, but it's still funky in there to me. If you're in Fells Point, you should grab coffee here... but then walk around with it. read more

The Daily GRIME is more like it. This place needs a wipe down. I honestly can't believe how dirty and crappy this place is. It would be so easy for staff to do a quick sweep, hey, maybe even mop or wipe down tables and walls? Whoever thought customers might enjoy a nice clean space? How hard is that? Apparently it's hard because whoever owns this place doesn't give 2 craps. It's evident this place hasn't had a good clean in ages. The only reason this place is still frequented is because of it's prime location. This place would have to LITERALLY clean up it's act if it were located in another neighborhood. As many other Yelper's have said it is a nice study space. Many other people are diligently working so if you go to get work done you won't feel alone. It's big, spacious, in a good location (Fells near the water) and lots of tables are near outlets. BUT it's so poorly maintained which distracted me from getting work done. It has the potential to be so awesome and beautiful! COME Daily Grind, get with it. I am NOT a picky person. Even when it's busy you should have staff take 5 minutes to sweep, wipe off counters ect. And I honestly wouldn't dare eat here simply because it felt so grimy. The women's bathroom seat was cracked and the stall door was on it's hinges. As for the actual coffee- good. Nothing special and defiantly not bad. This place is still frequented because of it's prime location otherwise it would not stay in business. If you must eat/drink here get it to-go. You won't want to stay and enjoy. It's not a nice coffeehouse feel that so many of us want and look for. read more
