A1. Tomato Beef Rolls with Rice Noodles
Linda I.

Brilliant addition!! I'm finally able to get "crossing the bridge" noodle soups with all the cute little side dishes, like when I'm in Yunnan. My mom and I went and tried two noodle soups and an app of the popcorn chicken. All were fabulous! For my first time, I thought I should try their specialty, A1 on the menu. My mom got the A11. Both were delicious. Such deeply flavorful savory, spicy, sour broths. With all the little add ins, including the quail egg just like in China. Hot bowls are presented in these plastic red containers, so low risk of burning yourself on the side of a hot soup bowl. Learned that ALL their hot noodle soups come with all the little side dishes so next time, I'll just pick the soup flavor that sounds the best! Popcorn chicken was good too! Crispy on the outside and well seasoned. Portion is generous. Great value for the price. Come hungry! Genius takeout bowls though, that come with two compartments for the soup and separating noodles/other toppings so they don't just fully disintegrate. Interior is clean, cheerful, with plenty of seating. Very nice servers who speak both Chinese and English! I'm very excited about this spot and will definitely be coming back again and again.

Food is excellent and authentic. Went there at lunch and a couple of weeks later returned for Valentine's Day with family. Everyone enjoyed the food.

Their online menu does not have the pictures that the in store one has and woowee it is a lot of choices of noodles! Amongst the 4 of us, we ordered the pork tip noodle, the Peking pork (zhajiangmian), hot oil wide noodle, beef tendon knife noodle. YUM! The noodles are handmade, handpulled and you can customize the shape and thickness you want! The portions as you can see are massive and the prices are very reasonable! $14/$15 a bowl! My pork rib tips were too tough but still seasoned. I would say their Peking style zhajiangmian is pleasantly less authentic and I liked this version better than the original! It included a braised full egg, and not too much of the cloyingly sweet and intense sauce. We ordered and within 2 minutes we were served fresh bowls of piping hot noods. Our server was efficient, warm, knowledgeable and bilingual. She said I looked like a popular Hong Kong singer, like OMG what a cute compliment! There was convenient parking and it was really close to my friend's house. Highly recommend!

When I asked her how I can leave a tip (because there was no option to), she explained that this is a self-serve place, so tip is not needed. The stores at the airport even asks for tip, so I was pleasantly surprised and appreciated the notion. I ordered their pho dac biet. I was asked if I wanted a lot of noodles or not. I was taken aback by the question, so I told her just the normal amount is fine. She then shares that their portion is not big which is what she asks all her customers when they order pho. The bowl was quite sad looking, lacked green onions, cilantro, meats, and no kidding on the noodles. The broth was clean but lacked that beefy richness. The herbs were fresh and they offered jalapeno slices and a line wedge unlike the place I went to on Sunday. But for the price, I could not expect more.

To begin with, the experience starts before you can get both feet in the door. Being new, Alexis greeted us as if we were new found cousins. Quaint, yet classy, with decor that reflects the warmth of the establishment as a whole. Very clean. Pimp had the Pork Chop dinner with cabbage and collard greens. I had the Catfish with greens and yams. All I can say is ...... who big maw back there putting the foots in them greens??? Everything was impeccable. The wait was ..... wellllll. It was well worth it. What amazed me more than the food was how nearly everyone who walked through that door was GREETED BY NAME. 30 minute drive from my home. We will be back.

We splurged on bean pie for dessert. Do not pass this up. It's unexpected and creamy. We will put this spot on heavy rotation.

Next time we will just do the hot pot because there's so many options for it. Everything was fresh and clean, we were very pleased and thought the food was delicious. We told our waiter it was our first time there and he explained everything but it was really fast. We were able to eventually figure things out, but we made a mess. The pricing was a little confusing, but it's an all you can eat place and we expected it would be on the higher end and would have to pay extra to take leftovers home. We definitely plan to return!

The bathrooms are also clean and I was surprised that the bathrooms have the green/red "vacant" and "occupied" feature. There a buffet style station in the back that has all the sauces, desserts, fruit, and fried food. There's a cooler with individual ice cream (strawberry, mint, vanilla, chocolate) and wooden spoon palettes. My only complaint is that the grill took so long so our meat took forever to cook. Service was pretty good. If we needed anything, we would ask and it would be provided. We needed a couple grill changes.
