Came across this place while in Miami craving for some Thai food. This place is located walking distance from the mall we were at (outside mall). Came here on a Friday night and we were seated promptly. This place has a nice date night vibe and great atmosphere. Chicken Wings- crispy and flavorful. Although only had like 4 or 5 wings. For $10 it is a little pricey. Pad Thai- we got the beef protein and it came with like 5 small slices of beef? A little disappointed in the meat portion. The noodle was flavorful and good. For $18, it could have either had more meat or bigger portion? Presentation looks nice though. Mango sticky rice- rice was soft and warm and the coconut sauce was on point. Mango could have been more ripe but it wasn't too bad. Overall, it's a nice little place for date night or hanging with friends in general. Amazing food every time! Daek in Midtown Miami is a gem for Thai cuisine lovers. Lets say that there are delicious and hearty Tom yum soup, and there's the ones that are not, and unfortunately this is the latter. Fine for a small appetizer soup but I prob wouldn't have gotten it had I know what it's like. The fried chicken wings--it was super crispy on the outside, but it was really just the batter that was crispy, not the skin. A true amazing crispy wing is crispy on the skin! And the meat in the inside had no flavor, it was fine with the sweet chili sauce on the side. The Thai basil stir fry came out in a big bowl and we were quite excited, but then realized that there's actually not too much stir fry in there as the bowl is mostly filled with rice on the bottom. Ordered delivery on a Friday night and everything came quickly and tasted up to par too. I honestly did not have high hopes after ordering from a couple of other Asian restaurants. Daek passed the test. I'm a huge fan of thai food and I thought the taste was comparable to some of the restaurants in SF. While I shouldn't compare, as Miami isn't known for their Asian food. Wonderful dining experience at Daek! The service was phenomenal upon arrival which was exceptional and the food was stellar and finger licking good! Kicked off the dinner with the garlic edamame which was exceptional flavorful and delicious. The sticky pork ribs were dazzling in a spicy chill sauce and the serving was plentiful! Made reservations online and was greeted as we walked in my the manager who walked up and knew my name. Considering I got there exactly at 7:30pm he knew it was me. A group of girlfriends and I decided to have our monthly girls night dinner here and it didn't disappoint in terms of food and service. Quite frankly it lacked an ambience in my opinion and would've loved to see this place a little more lively. The food though was delicious and the service was also great. My favorite was the sushi and the duck salad which had a sour taste. Saddened that they didn't have Cabernet so I decided to get Pinot noir instead but it was still good. This is a tough review because the food was good but not the flavors of authentic Thai food that we love. From the start, the atmosphere is beautiful and service is excellent. Prices are your standard Miami/Wynwood high. The menu is super small but it was actually nice and easy to make decisions (although they have multiple links for their online menu so it's a little confusing). We tried the drunken noodles, fried rice, hot and sour soup, dumplings, and Thai Donuts. Overall all the dishes didn't have the strong flavor and spices we're used to in Thai cuisine. The hot and sour soup was very bland, the fried rice barely had any flavor, and the drunken noodles were more flavorful but not amazing. We really enjoyed the donuts because they were fresh, soft, and sweet with condensed milk. Overall, it's a good spot for dinner but not a great spot for Thai. read more

Solid 3 stars all around, might be back, but not getting the red curry next time. The curry broth was flavorful, but a lottt of bamboo shoots and not enough vegetables. The damn thing was 1/3 bamboo and only 4 shrimp vs the 5 in the noodle dish which makes no sense considering you're paying extra for shrimp. Pad Thai was solid although the portion is kind of small for $21 (with shrimp) $45 or so dollars for two dishes that are decent, but definitely not amazing?? Try it and judge for yourself. We got the red Thai curry and pad Thai both excellent, the mochi desserts were alright (could easily skip) but the rest of the food itself was delicious. We shared an order of the ribs, steamed dumplings, and each of us had the Tom Ka Soup. For our main's we all had Pad Thai. The apps were on the small side but the all hit the spot, with the soup being one of the best I have had. The Pad Thai had just the right amount of heat, and the noodles done perfectly. I am a huge fan of their sister restaurant Lung Yai, so it was a no brainer to try this since they opened right before the pandemic. The cuisine is inspired by some of the traditional dishes of Lung Yai, however with an addition of Japanese cold dishes. Started with the Tom kha soup, Daek roll, which is off the menu so you have to ask for it! We also got the hamachi ponzu salad, which I was pleasantly surprised at the portions of fish we received compared to many other Miami Japanese restaurants. The crab fried rice and the pad kee mao were just as delicious as I remember at Lung yai, and we finished with the combination of kanisu which was extremely fresh and great those who are raw fish connoisseurs.
