Anyone can mask a donut with cereal toppings or bacon bits, but can you make a solid classic donut? Dad's does! I had the vanilla cream, a crumb and a maple bar. Each was perfectly cooked with that slightly crispy outer layer, fluffy inside and glazed/topped to perfection. Every bite of the vanilla cream was delish! Warm, fresh, clean, and tasty donuts. What more could you ask for? Even when the donuts are delivered, they are all which I mentioned above and more! Tip, when ordering from them, use their website and not another one. They have a variety of donuts as well so whatever you are craving, they probably have it. Good everyday go-to donut shop. It also offers drinks, sandwiches, and more, but I have never availed myself of those offerings, so this review is only for the donuts. The cinnamon rolls (snails) are top notch. The Boston Cream and the iced cake with sprinkles are very good. The rest from chocolate or maple bars to French (crullers) to good old raised glazed will not disappoint. Pleasant service and 4 am to 9 pm hours round out the scene. read more

Love this place! The owner is a doll - he's very warm and friendly and has a great rapport with the customers. I go here frequently for work events, and they always do a great job. Donuts are delicious, as are the cream cheese croissants. I'd give it 5 stars, except I'm from the Midwest and California donuts are just missing that one special something - not sure what, but there's something. In any case, Dad's are the best L.A. donuts, in my opinion. read more

Consecutive days I went to Dad's today I had their Cronut - both original and Chocolate - along with Boston Cream, Bavarian, and Blueberry. Unfortunately the Cronuts were awful. They tasted day old. Nothing fluffy or decadent about them. The other donuts were excellent! Creamy, fluffy, perfect. I'll stick to what they're excelling at - the filled pastries! read more

I have never eaten so many donuts in my life; thanks to Dad's Donuts, I will never be able to return to being an average consumer. Great service! I always call in ahead of time to make sure that they have those Boston Cream donuts and Cronuts, and I always get extra filling (extra charge... but worth it). Don't have it? They make it :) They have pretty good deals for regular donuts less than $10 for a dozen, etc. And, the guys working there are always so sweet (just like those yummy donuts) hehe Dad's Donuts is my donut spot! read more

Not only are these the best donuts I have had in LA, the cronut holes are to die for! I have been coming for years, and even have friends/family from out of state who beg to go when they come to town. I was so excited to see them open during the Covid crisis that I bought a dozen, and even several days since buying them, still are delicious!!! Fan for life! read more

Had the apple fritter and glazed twist donuts. The dough of both was light and airy, not heavy/dense and oily like other places. You can definitely taste the freshness. I would go out of my way to come back to this place. read more

Great egg on bagel. But if you want any bagel other than plain. Order other flavor bagels at first there good quality then all of sudden there cheap different brand. Low quality no ingredients in bagel just specks of ingredients. Purchase enough inventory to fulfill customers requests. I'm not able to cook or wouldn't get breakfast everyday. We spend alot of money. Could we get the quality that starts out good .Purchase a new toaster one that toast whole bagel. They have nice bagel toaster at Walmart for 29.00 . We spend 30.00 in 2 days. read more

Growing up my dad made it a tradition to bring home donuts every Friday after work so that we can have one for dessert that night, and one for breakfast the next morning. Now that I'm a 30 years old, I made my own tradition of having a donut at least 4 days out of the week, I know obsessed much? Yes! I still haven't met anyone who loves donuts as much I do. So let me get to the point. I had ate Donuts from Dad's donuts a few times from when my dad would bring a dozen home, however it has been a very long time and I had to try A donut from Dad's Donuts. I loved the display of donuts being behind the counter on a shelf similar to a boulangerie. After spending 10 Minutes trying to decide which donut I wanted, I finally went with a classic -old fashion chocolate and of course a cup of iced coffee. The donut was delicious and perfectly dense inside for an old fashion-my. Only dislike was that it wasn't crunchy enough on the outside as it should have been. I will return for a donut when I'm in the area and maybe this time I'll try the apple fritter which wouldn't stop smiling at me. read more

I love donuts and I love Dad's. I saw the really favorable reviews and I have to agree that these donuts are pretty awesome. I came by late Sunday a couple hours before they were closing and being that it was the end of the day I wasn't expecting to be wowed since the donuts were probably sitting out all day maybe longer. However, because of the reviews I was expecting a really good donut and I got that. I got the old fashion glazed and old fashion chocolate and the cake maple and chocolate cake/ chocolate frosting. The texture was good and the bottom of the donuts were crispy, a huge plus! read more

The reason my rating is low is because of their "cronuts." Be forewarned. They ain't good. They look alright from the outside but are raw on the inside - my third time trying them and it's the same. If you've ever eaten one on the east coast you know what a cronut is supposed to be and these ain't it. The picture shows a lump of raw puff pastry scooped out from the center. I purchased a box of donuts from here. I made a pick-up order through their website. Since it was my first time, I wanted to take the time to pick out the flavors, and it was boxed and ready to go when I got to the store. The man who served me was very kind and friendly, making small talk that made me feel like Burbank is truly like a small town. Warning - the donuts are very addictive. They're soft and airy, the coating is very generous (and a bit on the sugary side so I have to dust some of it off). It's hard to eat just one donut and not think about the next. Why would anyone wait in a ridiculous line for Krispy Kreme when there's this place! read more

I come to Dad's at least once a month for a croissant breakfast sandwich, plus something sweet like cronut holes, a jelly donut, an apple fritter or a thai tea. I mostly come on Saturday/Sunday mornings and they're surprisingly never very busy inside. The parking lot can be a bit of a nightmare, but if you're patient/hungry enough to circle the lot a few times you should be able to snag a spot! read more

The pastries look beautiful for Instagram, but the taste no longer matches the image. People probably come for the terrace and the "Paris" aesthetic, but nothing about these pastries feels authentically French anymore. The owner is Iranian and honestly should stick to Iranian pastries instead of trying to market this place as a French pâtisserie, because it is nowhere close to the quality or refinement of a real French pastry shop. On top of that, customer service is terrible. The employees are rude, impatient, and act bothered when you ask simple questions like the price of a croissants ; especially since prices are not clearly displayed. Paying almost $7 for a croissant or New York roll, and $10+ for many pastries, would maybe be acceptable with excellent quality and service... but definitely not with dry pastries and rude staff. Parking is another nightmare. There's no dedicated parking lot, so you have to park on San Fernando, pay for parking, and parking enforcement is constantly circling waiting to ticket people the second your time expires. This was my last visit. Save your money and go elsewhere for pastries -- honestly, even Whole Foods does better at this point.

There's so many options, I've been there a handful of times with my boyfriend and we've ordered something different every time and it always tastes great! There aren't any seats inside of the ice cream parlor, but there are benches right out front that you can sit on to eat your treats. Sliders makes for a fun little adventure to get some ice cream any day of the week!

Their red and yellow striped building is impossible to miss. Located in the back of the hut is a small parking lot. I stopped by before work to pick up some donuts and was pleasantly surprised by their selection. They have all the classic donut flavors and then some Asian inspired ones. Matcha, Thai tea, coconut, and some other ones that were sold out when I arrived. They also have giant sized donuts too! The woman at the front was super friendly and gave me a quick run down of their breakfast menu. Ill definitely be back in the future!
