This is easily the best restaurant on the island. I have been coming here for years, and it never disappoints. Depending on your mood, weather & time of day there's 3 different bars to pick from. Rooftop bar: opens at 4pm, has food menu including sushi! Best bar tenders - Kat & Tucker. I recommend rooftop for best service and best drinks. Not to mention an awesome view! Garden / back yard bar: absolutely beautiful atmosphere for day or night. Great food menu! I recommend a refreshing salad or the shrimp cocktail! Yum! Not the best bartenders ... get a glass of wine . Inside bar/ restaurant: high end relaxing beach atmosphere. They really went above and beyond for the island. First and foremost, this place always has amazing food. On our most recent trip, we had two unfortunate instances in 1 night that we felt were handled unprofessionally. We called to make a reservation for 8 (4 adults, 4 kids). They assured us that wasn't necessary. When we got there, the hostess seemed genuinely annoyed at the sight of our kids (who I must say, were well behaved). The strollers seemed to upset her... which is why I tried explaining on the phone we should be seated somewhere to accommodate us appropriately and to be out of the way of the servers and other guests. We also ordered from the specials, which came back sold out -- nothing major. We understand these hiccups occur. The worst part was that at the end of our meal, after asking for our check, the waitress told us that a third party had paid for our meal. We were shocked, delighted, and looked around to "pay it forward" to another table assuming this was a random act of kindness. After five minutes, the manager came over to tell us that this in fact was a mistake, and that our bill was on the way. Of course we had no problem for paying for our meal, I just would have assumed the delivery of that message would be accompanied with more than a "sorry about that." From an owner's perspective, this was extremely unprofessional and killed the entire vibe of our otherwise wonderful dinner. read more

Food was OK. Not bad but not great. Service was terrible. Took forever to see our waitress when we first sat down and then it got worse from there. Rarely came to check on us between courses. She would go to one table at a time and then back to the bar or kitchen without looking at anyone else. Not a great multitasking server. I tried multiple times to get her attention and she never saw me. It's fine if the food comes out slowly but at least check in and see if we need more drinks. We would have ordered at least 1-2 more rounds and it would have made the restaurant more money and helped make it more tolerable while waiting. Second time there and not impressed. While on a Fall girls weekend in LBI, we decided to hit Daddy O's. We made a 9pm reservation for dinner and arrive at 8pm so we could have a drink or two at the rooftop bar. So I get it's "off season" but service upstairs was slow - we had a nice table, so we didn't get too bothered, but we were up there for an hour and could only have one drink due to slow service. We headed downstairs at 9pm and were seated right away. Pros included our fabulous waiter, Billy - he was really great and super attentive. There were some serving/kitchen issues going on - took FOREVER to get soups and salads - but the food was tasty and Billy was a doll. The one thing I will say is - the prices are absolutely outrageous. I get you are in LBI at a "nice" place but make sure you are prepared mentally. read more

Then, like a beacon of hope in the sky, 'twas a table for 2, top shelf at the Daddy-O's Rum Bar. Flounder picat, yes please, and an order of tacos. Round 1, make it 2, and the mule glass, they new? Oh, and how could I forget our man of the evening, young James in his prime and his glory. He served us with ease, round 3 yes please, don't forget those pickles so epic. Probably not fair to leave another review for the same place in the same month, but I really enjoyed my meal again. This time I ate at the bar, where Jill provided fast and attentive customer service to me and everyone else at the bar. I had the local flounder piccata with orzo and it was delicious. I also tried the cocojito rum drink and it was great. The person who brought out my food actually just graduated with my daughter, he's a great guy. If Chris works here, the place must be great! It was busy in the bar area and they had the Mets game on and the NASCAR race. The televisions are not distracting at all from the very upscale atmosphere. We live here on the island. I've walked past this place for 50 years and love it like family. We come several times a month for the outside garden for lunch and love to meet friends during the day. We went for dinner last night and the waiter Alex was very friendly and knowledgeable , we felt we had a winner for the evening. He communicated well at first and we even said to him your an experienced waiter, he appreciated the compliment. Things went for a turn. We no sooner received our salads drinks and sushi app when he past us and said your dinners will be out shortly. We said we are not in any hurry and we didn't get to enjoy the sushi as yet. He said no problem. Well they came out shortly anyway and were tepid for hers mine was actually cool. Johnathan came by just before the dinners came out and asked how's every thing we said the sushi was awesome as well as the martinis were perfect as always. Once into dinner Alex came by and i ordered another sushi roll and said it was great. I made no mention of the food temp because its from experience you just put up with it because it just turns out to go down hill 90% of the time anywhere. ( luckily I eat cool leftovers all the time in the morning ) Once finished with everything we sat there patiently for him to ask us for desert or coffee. Never came back to the table and it was getting busy. We know only too well how difficult the industry is now but I take back the experienced waiter comment. We would have loved to have a cappuccino and a piece of pie the two of us to end a relaxing eve for our 45th anniversary. We kept trying to get eye contact and finally got frustrated and grabbed Jonathan as he was working effortlessly bussing and assisting blazing by. I said I want to get Alex so I can get the check AND,.... before I could finish my sentence he said I'll get it and bolted from us so quickly, I looked at my wife and said Oh well, we have tea and cookies at home and with that he came back , I said don't leave and handed him my card after I glanced at the over $200 total So we didn't have to sit again. We paid the bill and instead of my usual 25-30% tip it was reduced to a fair 18. Sorry Al its the end of the season and winter is coming and so will we still. We will always be back. By far the best happy hour on the Island!! Quite a few food and drink items and everything we had was delicious. The toast of the day was amazing and the mussels in Thai curry, delicious. If you are looking for a really fun atmosphere and vegan food, come here! There is a separate vegetarian menu, but many items can be made vegan. It's not the usual fake meat throwaway dish. They have a nice variety of options and try to be creative with the dishes. The pasta is different each time and has a nice subtle sauce to bring it all together. There is also a warm grain salad and the option to add tofu to any of the vegetarian dishes. Not to mention a lot of fun drinks and great wine options. It was basically a kids chicken finger cut into awkward pieces with like chunks of blue cheese. Chicken Milanese was so thick, needed to be pounded down. Arugula was completely wilted. Shrimp tacos were ordered with no pico and side salad... came with pico and fries. Risotto and scampi were cold. Whatever. Kids food was good. I guess that was important. Not a good situation. Manager did not acknowledge the muscle situation until we brought it up. Waiter came with bill and muscles were still on it. Asked for a box 3 times before we got one. Just inattentive. Our king suite was spacious and the artwork is perfect for the modern beach vibe. One of the biggest perks of this little boutique hotel is the every day happy hour! Perfect way to ease into the night. Their cocktails are fairly priced, entrees are a bit high. The risotto is top notch. All around it is a great experience. A very cool, dimly lit, almost swanky decor. Server was very sweet and helpful. For dinner we started with the buffalo chicken (great!), and for mains my wife had a salad and I had sushi. The sushi was delicious but the offerings were all like the "special" rolls you find at sushi restaurants. There weren't any more traditional sushi offerings like at the Engleside, for example. I love this place! We had such a nice table right in the courtyard. Beautiful ambiance and nice staff. I had one of the best meals I've ever had. I got the seared chicken with the cornbread souffle and roasted vegetables. Everything was delicious although I did have to send the chicken back because it was cold. I had already eaten the other part of the meal except for the chicken, but they redid the entire dish for me! I really appreciate the fact that they cooked to Perfection the second time. I would go back to Beach Haven all the way from Connecticut just for that meal again! The only thing that did not make this a five-star experience was the fact that the waitress was also the bartender. With it being a busy night and a big courtyard, it was hard to get their attention if we needed something. The food Runner came out drop their plates and left right away so I had to wait 20 minutes for the waitresses attention for sale at them know that my chicken was served cold. Came here today, aesthetically this place is super clean and decorated very eclectic / modern - that is where the two stars are coming from, staff were also very nice and professional. That being said.... food portions are so small I was actually confused at first. I ordered a meal that was to come with 3 eggs over easy and avocado - there was 1 egg, it was fried and no avocado. My sister got chicken and waffles and it was almost like a small ego waffle with a small piece of chicken, no syrup, again - bizarre. Lobster bisque was $19! A couple in the parking lot saw us walking out and asked if they should eat there, I said no. Super disappointed w/ this spot, won't be back and neither will my friends / fam in LBI. I know times are tough post COVID but stuff like this sticks. Food is way too overpriced for portions and cooks should know the dishes on the menu. read more

Stayed at the hotel recently and it was awful. The carpet looked liked it hasn't been cleaned in years, it was disgusting. We were also sticking to the bathroom floor. There isn't a view of the ocean from the roof top bar. The service at the indoor bar was terrible. The bartender was rude and we sat there waiting for drinks. When she handed us the bill, she even apologized for the crummy service. When we pay that much money for a room in Hotel we expect it to be clean! read more

First time here - we sat on the roof terrace which is spacious and quite nice. There is a nice bar and mixed tables of low round and square high top styles. The service was relaxed and responsive.
