Light dinner and cocktails on their rooftop lounge on Monday night. was able to get a table with no wait and everything was excellent.

Daddy O more like DADDY NO. As someone who has been in the restaurant business it is very disappointing to write this review. We had a reservation and showed up on time and had to wait 45 minutes for our table to open. They explained that they were low staffed on a busy night and had a 30 person table but when we got seated we did not see a table of 30 leave and it was not as busy as it seemed. When we sat down the waitress spilled water and refused to put a napkin over the very large full glass spillage. After we ordered appetizers about 5 or 6 mussels came out without the mussels. We then waited about another 20-30 minutes for our entree. When the entrees arrived every entree except for the salmon was cold. It is very disappointing for a restaurant that has such a great ambiance to be this disappointing when it is considered a very high end restaurant on the island. If you are considering this place while on vacation I would take your chances on another place on the island. read more

Picked up the lava cake from Daddy'O last night and they had pre-warmed the lava cake, so by the time I got home the ice cream was half melted and the whipped cream was completely melted. This was an amazing dining experience from start to finish. For starters the decor modern, stylish and clean. The server was friendly, helpful and availability. We started with the spicy tuna tacos, which have to be one of the best bites I have ever had. If you go for no other reason, go for these. That being said, everything was so delicious it was hard at the end to say what I liked best. The braised beef French onion gnocchi was out of this world! I cried a little when I tasted the scallops, they were that good. We can't wait to go back. read more

My family and I came here Saturday night to celebrate my wife's 50th birthday. We have been coming to LBI together for 30 years and have been to many of the restaurants on the island but this was our first time here. One word "Amazing". Right from the start the atmosphere is like no other on the island. The decor is much like that of the W Hotel with a bit of a 60's vibe, very cool and modern. The menu is definitely upscale and creative. There are also some fantastic signature Martinis. We started with the Lamb Sliders, Tuna Tartar and Bruschetta. All were delicious and the presentation was very nice. For main courses we had the Wild Boar Bolognese, the Monk Fish Osso Bucco and the Griggstown Chicken Breast. Everything was well prepared, flavorful and the portions were generous. We all shared. I also would like to say that our server was amazing. She was full of energy, interactive and attentive to all of our questions and special requests. She made the night complete when she brought out a dessert plate with Happy Birthday written out in dark chocolate. Overall it was a perfect dinning experience and we will be back again. read more

I went here twice in one week, once for the rooftop and the other for dinner outside on their patio. The rooftop is cool, we sat in the lounge area chairs for a while chatting and enjoying HH. While its on the roof...there really is no view of much so dont expect one. They only have 2 of their cocktails disputed and no food specials. We still decided to try a sushi roll and it was pretty awesome, can't remember the name but hey I'll add a pic for reference. The Marilyn Monroe is one of the HH drinks and it was ok...lots of juice that's for sure! Go with wine instead. The bartenders and servers on the rooftop were awesome, really cheery and attentive. Now for dinner. The server was awful. He took drink orders and didn't return for about 15 minutes...we saw him around but never even came by to say hey the bar is backed up or here's sme water while you wait for your drinks...then we didn't get the proper silverware like a spoon for soup and a steak knife for steak. The stuffed chicken breast was really good as were the pork sliders but the portion size of the entrees were on the smaller side. The strip steak was good but not worth the price either. All in all, I'd go back here if it were for another gathering as this past visit was....otherwise I'd probably not be in a rush to venture back. read more

Hotel + Restaurant + Bar = Each are wonderful! Hotel - If you are used to large hotel rooms, you'll want to book the Queen Suite. I've stayed in the Standard Queen as well. Neither have a fridge. The bathroom is the same size in each and is glorious. The staff is awesome. Great location. Restaurant - Holy cow! Delicious. The Filet Mignon and the Fish Stew are our favorites. The service is wonderful. Bar - Great bartenders. Great variety of liquors. TVs. Awesome overall. read more

Had dinner here after drinks at the bar. Bartender was awesome! Helped my husband pick a beer and made me an amazing mock tail (I'm currently pregnant). We then moved to the dining room with friends and had an amazing meal. We did the calamari for an appetizer. The husbands both had the Philly cheesesteak sandwiches. I had the Thai noodle salad, my friend had the falafel. It was all amazing. Definitely worth the trip, nice atmosphere. Didn't do the roof top bar, but heard it's amazing and great for the 30-40 crowd. read more

Went here for a bachelorette party and had a good time. The food was pretty good I'd say. The drinks were also good but, those took a bit longer that one might care for. Stopped here on our first evening out on LBI. It was a fairly quiet Monday evening & we were seated immediately - we chose to sit in the more casual bar area. Really liked the vibe of the place - casual, but upscale. Every staff member we came in contact was very friendly - our server checked in on us often & we did not run out of anything! My normally finicky kids were more than happy with their selections - the Chopped Salad & the Chicken Fingers - while I had the Chicken Club Sandwich (Awesome!). Everything here - from the seasoning of the food to the décor of the restrooms - showed attention to detail! An all around great experience - I would definitely return! read more

I really like this place. This was the first time staying here, we had seen it while staying in LBI 2 years ago. The staff at check in were friendly and offered to help with any questions we had. The room was along the European style of size ( small) but plenty of room for the two of us. The best part was that it had a fresh, new feel and it was spotless. I always sleep better in a room I feel is clean! We went to the bar to have a drink and some appetizers and our bartender/server Cat (or Kat, I'm not sure) was great. She was busy but was always checking on us, making sure everything was ok. This is a nice hotel, clean, close to beach, great bar. I love DADDY O! One of the best parts of going to LBI is going to dinner there. I think their food is absolutely delicious and they have a cocktail called the 'Tikitini' that is to die for... actually think that is the best part; it is amazing. More upscale than most other LBI bars but more cool than stuffy. Outside bar was closed but looked really nice. Will definitely make this s regular stop in LBI. Great place for Happy Hour. There's a rooftop deck which is great. Only problem is everyone wants to be on rooftop, and there's not enough seating. So exciting to see this restaurant in the neighborhood! Yes, it's modern, yes, it's a little upscale. But wait until you taste the food! Delicious! I asked for a custom cocktail-no problem, it was perfect. We started with sharing a jumbo shrimp appetizer and it was cooked to exact done then chilled. And 5 huge shrimp! I had the local wild caught Flounder with Risotto, topped with naked baby Lettuce. The fish fillet was large but so delicately cooked it melted in my mouth. My dinner companion had the Scallops. I had a bite of one the these giants and again expertly cooked to velvet texture. Ask about the Salted Caramel and Pretzel Bread Pudding and share. I will be back. read more

Came here for dinner on a Saturday night and was pleased by the ambiance upon entering. We were greeted by our server who provided friendly service consistently throughout the night. We enjoyed our cocktails, appetizers, and entrees. We ordered a bottle of wine and when it came we noticed it was a different year than on the wine list. We were not presented with the bottle prior to it being poured for the table, so we didn't catch the discrepancy until it was already in our glasses. It wasn't a big issue but we did ask to speak to a manager to alert them of this discrepancy in the hopes it could be corrected for future diners. The manager's response was lukewarm but the bottle was removed from the table as we were offered the opportunity to select another bottle from the menu. We ordered another bottle and it ended up being corked. Once again, presentation and taste were not offered so this issue was not caught until it was too late. We were thoroughly disappointed with the manager's reception of our first complaint so we didn't even bother to point out the second issue. We just left it untouched and paid the check. Our table was comprised of five former service industry professionals so we are not the first to complain about any minor issue but all agreed this issue could've been handled a number of ways and the way it was handled was not to our satisfaction. Ordered the special app which was bolognese en croute with mushrooms and burrata. It was good although the burrata was more stiff than I've seen from fresh burrata previously. My wife had the mussels in white wine sauce and greatly enjoyed it. I originally ordered the flounder piccata. The meal was virtually tasteless. Asked for the Short Rib Stroganoff. Beers and wines are $4, speciality drinks are $6 and the mixed house drinks were $6 (I think) -- the staff is super friendly and fun and the atmosphere is top notch. Our family had dinner at Daddy O's this evening and had an air conditioning grill dripping water on us and our dinner. We alerted our waitress, largely because we wanted to make sure that they were aware that it was happening. She called over the manager, "Kaylin" (spelling?) who, rather than simply apologizing, immediately got defensive and tried to come up with justifications for why it wasn't her fault and that there was nothing she could do about the water dripping on us. A simple apology would have sufficed. We can't say enough about the poor management. We will not be returning and will not be recommending the restaurant. read more

We sat on the rooftop bar, it had wonderful views, but the barbacks (or maybe even the bartenders?) consistently bumped into the group of people that I was with, and didn't even say so much as "excuse me" which I thought was extremely rude. All in all, too pricey for mediocrity. Place is decent in general though. Would probably go back if it was my only option. read more
