Been driving by for a while and finally stopped in. He's the park and ride lot by the Corica golf course for lunch (11-3) and across in Veteran's Court from 5-10. Single man operation. Ron's a real nice guy and fun to chat with. Had the cheeseburger and fries. Fries were great - not too cripsy, not limp. Reminded me of FiveGuys. Burger also was excellent. You can really taste his fresh ingredients. Since its a one-man operation ROn may not always be here if you come lookiing for him. Luckily I live nearby so I literally can check every day. Give Ron a try - you won't regret it.

Always pass by and decided to stop by on an afternoon and was glad i did. Ronald was truly a down to earth guy as most reviews mentioned. He gave an icebreaker that he's an Alameda native, DaBurger is his retirement enjoyment, he's very passionate about his ways in his Burger stand. They say if you really enjoy what you do, are you really working? Salute to Ronald. I ordered his cheeseburger, fries and milkshake. The burger was delicious with his homemade sauce, shake tasted great and not too thick at all like In n Out & Habit. He even said he made the burger just a little bigger because i look like a person who works out a lot. He definitely love his customers because he said I was his last customer before closing at 3pm to restock more ingredients for dinner but ended up serving one more customer after me anyways. Will definitely take my boys here one time for his shakes. Thank you Ronald for serving great burgers at a location anyone least expect it.

I kept passing this place and finally stopped, and I'm so glad I did. Ronald is awesome and makes good tasty burgers and fries. Ask to try his homemade chipotle may or special relish! He's currently parked in the commuter lot for lunchtime and over by the Harbor Bay Club at dinner time during the week.

Don't substitute convenience of location for poor quality and service. Terrible attitude, not great food.

Hubby got a Black Garlic Fried Chicken Sandwich with Fried Chicken Thigh, Black Garlic Sauce, House Pickles & Pear Slaw on toasted brioche bun. He enjoyed it but it wasn't filling enough for him. So note, if you're 220 lbs or so, or if you have a bigger appetite, you might want to order a second sandwich or get the Fowl Fry Combo instead. Sandwiches run about $17 - totally worth it though. A great chicken sandwich awaits you at Fowl + Fare in Alameda!…read more I finally had a chance to try this place! Fowl + Fare operates from a small storefront right next to the Shanvi Indian Grocery store on Santa Clara Ave (near Broadway). This place is either takeout or eat outside on picnic tables. I took my food to-go. I had the Citric Hot Chicken Sandwich w/ Seasoned Fries. I liked the Citric Hot Chicken Sandwich. It was spicy, but not numbing hot. The slaw sort of smoothed out the spicy heat. It's made from thigh meat, so it's moist and easy to eat. I didn't like the seasoned fries. They cut the potatoes into thin fries that don't travel well as takeout. Probably okay if you ate them right there, fresh from the kitchen. If I go back, I'm just getting a sandwich.....no fries.

We had the buratta, the mixed greens salad, the duck and the pasta. We finished up with the chocolate bar dessert. This was the most incredible culinary experience I've had in a really long time and I was so happy to have it. The fresh pasta with the fresh English peas in the carbonara sauce was so light and flavorful. The duck was crispy and moist. The salad was gorgeous with edible flowers sprinkled in. It was just a treat all the way around. Thanks so much. Heather

This time it fell a bit short. The carpaccio was a fun addition to the menu, but the flavor profiles were off. The vinaigrette was a bit sour for my taste, the chips were too salty and the pickles were odd to be on top of the carpaccio. The Cesar salad is a favorite of mine, but a bit salty this time! I was genuinely surprised. Not sure if it was the dressing or if it was the black flaky salt. The burrata was fabulous. The duck was nothing to write home about. It was moist in some areas and then other parts extremely dry. The NA drinks were a fun selection. I recommend the blueberry cucumber one for sweet and the rosemary lemonade for tart. We will be back of course, but this round fell a bit short. I think I will stick to the steak frites next time which is always done perfectly.

Tl;dr - A true beer garden ala Texas/Midwest, with the food, beer, and relaxed summer vibes you all…read moredream of. There's something for the whole family aside from some truly tasty beers. I've been coming here for awhile, ever since one fine afternoon I was in town on business and was feeling a need for craft beer. I was once the world's predominant authority on craft beer in my own mind, but years of chugging ales have decimated my tolerance for it. Anywho, the first thing you'll notice about this spot is it's out there, pretty far off from downtown Alameda tucked away in an old military pier alongside some other more enterprising establishments. Lots of parking so there's that. Inside, they are definitely doing that thang, massive brewery stacks dominate the background but the space is massive so it supports an almost endless amount of tables, benches, and spots to hide out. Arcade machines, outdoor activities (even a kids sandbox) really add the "Adventureland" elements that make it more than just a standard brew joint. If you've had their beer, it's definitely on the expensive side, but they keep a healthy variety that I would say is all reliably refined and delicious. Its no 2000 era Bells or modern day Founders, but I particularly like their love hazy and the Mexican style lagers. My friends who like sours say they are also quite good. Although this place is really not directly affiliated with the business it's definitely a reason I go so I can't leave it out -- they have food trucks outside that handle most of the food there and the one they have there always has one of the best burgers I've ever had in the bay, hands down. It's a blackened blueberry and blue cheese burger and even though I don't like blue cheese, this unholy alliance is faaaaaaan-friggin-tastic. Must try. Service is casual, they do flights which is a great way to try things. Not sure about any happy hours, would love to see them get a mug/growler thing going here for discounts, they might have something already I'm just not aware of but nothing is obvious when I've gone. It's a great spot to kick it with some friends on a nice day or late afternoon, having a few beers and relaxing. California doesn't really do the beer garden thing like we do in the Midwest, you'll find spots like this all over Michigan so it's nice to see something of the same type here finally. I believe dogs are allowed too ala Texas vibes, but not 100% on that so I'd check ahead of time. Personally, I cannot stand seeing dogs at restaurants and bars so even if they do allow it, those aren't your kids, can we start reporting places that allow dogs without signage? If I brought a raccoon in on a leash would you be fine with that? It's a sanitation issue. Anyways, I digress, if you like beer, you like fun, and you like damn fine burgers, this is the best spot on the other side of the pond. 'nuff said.
