The buffet they offer has good variety of options. There are a couple of things that were really good while others were decent. The goat was well cooked and tasty. Chicken tandoor didn't taste much without a mint chutney on the side, it probably lacked some spice/lemon. I was a little disappointed that they didn't have biriyani on that day, but that's just my luck. The pani puri self make/ serve counter had everything you need to make yourself a good chaat, so enjoyed that. They had 4 dessert options- Rice kheer, fruit custard, halwa and gulab jamun. I liked only gulab jamun out of the four. Overall, You'll find something you like out of the variety of options, but you might not like all of what's provided. read more

Clean table and buffet food service area. The only option for lunch is their buffet. Current price is $15.99 plus tax for an adult and $2.49 for a can of soda. It was nice that they had Coke Zero as a choice. There were about 4 salad choices: including mixed greens, pasta salad, corn salad and had several choices of additional items for your salad including sliced beats, slice carrots, sliced tomatoes, sliced pickles etc. The basmati rice was cooked nicely and was fluffy. Didn't try the fried rice. They had about 4 kinds of chicken dishes to choose from Mother's Own, Butter, Tandoori and Tikka Masala. They had about 8 vegetarian style curries including lentil, channa masala, paneer, mixed vegetables, etc. The naan bread was simple but fresh and hot. All the food was hot snd was always refilled to the hot plates when it was running low. There was a few dessert items and sliced oranges too. We were pretty disappointing with the service by the staff. Had to wait a while for water glass to be refilled and to take our drink order. There were some dishes that were dirty and were stacked with the dishes at the buffet tables. We had to flag someone down to place our drink order and to tell them we were ready to pay. Also no one asked us while we ate if we wanted anything else. In conclusion, if you can deal with medicore customer service but want to get good ibut small amount of choices for an Indian food buffet for $16.00 at lunch time then this place does pretty good and worthy of a visit to go there again if you're in the area. read more

It was just one of those days when we didn't wanted to cook at home but also craving some authentic indian food . So we decided to try out this place for the first time . FOOD: We had come here on a Saturday afternoon at around 12:30 pm for the lunch buffet. We were happy to see that there were many options available for the buffet, which included a section of salads/cold items, a section of hot items/curries, and a section of desserts. In terms of the food quality itself, we felt as though some of the items were a bit too spicy for our taste buds however, there were some items which tasted quite delicious, such as the Butter Chicken, Naan Bread (which was brought right to our table), and the Potato Triangles. All of the items also tasted quite fresh, and we found the price to be good (only $14.99 per person). Although this buffet wasn't as large as some of the Indian buffets, it did offer enough for us, and the items were always replenished when the amount was low. ATMOSPHERE: We found this restaurant to have excellent décor, especially when it came to the chairs and tables, along with the wallpaper, light fixtures, and pictures on the walls. It was quite stylish, which was wonderful to look at during our stay. We also found that there was ample room in-between the chairs and tables, along with a large space where the buffet was situated, without any tables nearby. There weren't too many guests in the restaurant at the time therefore, the volume level was tolerable. We felt that a lot of work was put into making this restaurant look good, and it showed beautifully! SERVICE: When we had walked-in, we were served by a young woman, whom brought us to a table near the front of the restaurant. She was courteous throughout the entire meal, coming over to our table to check on us, and filling-up our water glasses, along with bringing us extra Naan Bread when we had asked for more. Ordered through Uber eats and food was packed nicely. The Chicken Achari Tikka had the perfect balance of spice and herb, nice char on the meat and juicy pieces! The Shahi Paneer was creamy, flavourful and came in a large portion, easily enough for two meals. The garlic naan was pretty good, nice texture and garlicky taste. The chili cheese naan (which is recommended on their website) is not good! No chili and cheese is kind of sad, just grated cheddar which makes it even more oily and soggy. My go to place Punjabi- Indian food. The taste is consistent and good. The spice levels are too Indian too. If you want mild be specific. The regular food is good spicy. The vegetarian tandoori starters are awesome thy the veggie platter if you are in a group. Their hara bhara kebab and makai kebab are pretty damn good. For the mains, my favourite is their daal makhni, they know how to make this perfectly. Their biryani was good too( not a punjabi dish though) paneer dishes are okay. Naan are always cooked to perfection- crispy and fluffy. The malai kofta is pretty good. The only weird things about them, I haven't figured it out yet what makes them offer complimentary papad and chutney. 'Coz sometimes they do and sometimes they don't. Or say I have seen them serving it a few tables and at the same time at some don't. I don't like it. If something is being served as a welcome dish it should be served irrespective of what people are ordering. Don't fo it otherwise. Daal Roti is one of our favourite places for Indian Food in the GTA. The food at this new location was fantastic as well. The decor is better than the old location. The prices are very reasonable and the taste/quality is amazing. Why not 5-stars for the experience? 1. The waiter got our order wrong. We ordered Chicken Tikka Masala and he brought Butter Chicken Masala instead. We didn't say anything as the dish was very tasty. 2. The first round of naan which was brought to our table was the frozen naan which was heated and served. In the second round they served the naan which was freshly made in their kitchen. We thought maybe the first one was complementary but we were charged 2.50$ for each frozen naan. :) read more

Let me start with the buffet price $18.99 + taxes and is it worth? Well it's only worth writing a 1* review which means it was terrible, the food was stale, smelly and the heated over and over! Ignoring all the red flags, I was hungry, decided to give it a try and picked up a plate to only see carefully now that all the currys looked as if they were heated over and over; again and again, and because I had a plate in my hand I thought it will not be fair to walk away without eating and paying! Good food delivery of the pick up order is quite poor. Ordered food twice for pickup from this place, and both times something was missing when I got home. Called and complained and the response was to come back and they'll replace the item (which defeats the purpose of takeout). The 2 star review was for a negative experience 2 times For pick up. Considering that it's a pandemic and that take out is key for business, I would expect them to take more care in preparing the take out orders. Very disappointing experience. Firstly, the plates are all dirty and so is waiter's uniform. We ordered stuffed mushrooms, the description said cheese and panner stuffed. What we got- Monterrey pepper jack cheese slice melted between two pieces. Panner no where to find. The curries were just average. Chilli cheese naan was again stuffed with Monterrey pepper jack cheese slice (guess they bought a big pack from Costco). Now let's talk about rice- we ordered Tara pulao, the waiter said everything is made Bombay style. OMG, it was so bad and the potatoes in the rice were rotten and smelly. I wanted to tell this to the waiter but he never returned to ask about if we wanted anything else or how the food was. We were just handed the bill. I will never go again to this place. After checking so many reviews and recommendations from friends we planned an evening dinner with them. I will divide the Review in 4 parts : Ambiance and Seating - It was nice ambiance however sitting is definitely a no because of so less space between two tables that the person next to you can fully hear your conversations and on the top of that getting into sofa type seating with the wall was quiet a challenge. Seating was a big turn off. Service - We requested our server to create dishes in North Indian style and requested him to specifically not to keep the Chilies high as we had a 5 years old kid with us. He was kind enough to help us select the dishes that are North Indian style but not sure if he misunderstood the order or what , we got the worst ever dishes that we can ever imagine. Our vegetables and Roti/Naan came in time however yogurt came late. So overall Service was not impressive either. Food - Now coming to food , quality of Paneer and Matar was okay, I liked their Roti's which were better than their Naan's. We ordered Methi Malai Mutter,Paneer Kadai and Yogurt. The only thing we enjoyed in the meal was Roti. Paneer Kadai and Methi Malai mutter were so over spiced and full of chilies. Verdict : With so many Desi restaurants in GTA with better tasting food and ambiance, I will not hesitate to give this one a miss. This is now hands down my favorite Indian joint!!! The food was amazing..we particularly enjoyed the mixed grill platter..that sizzler was mouth watering. The atmosphere in the restaurant is delightful and not chaotic like other places I've been. My daughter who is usually very picky (like a food critic) ate everything on her plate. Always had a great experience with food here. We always do take outs and our go to dishes are kofta and palak paneer - the taste has been very consistent. We don't usually order naans though, I wish they had whole wheat Roti/phulka in menu. The naan gets very soggy. read more

Ordered take out today for chicken biryani and fish tikka. Was very disappointed to see the quality and quantity of food! They had packed the chicken biryani in a sectional take out container! The biryani was more of onion biryani full of thick chunky onions. Bad preparation! While fish tikka was very small in quantity for the price. Even their piece of naan was expensive for a plain nothing extraordinary type. Too bad..huge place but poor business! read more
