After we got out legs back underneath ourselves from driving down the winding way from Positano we enjoyed a relaxing day in Amalfi, we had pizza for lunch and wanted something from the sea for dinner. We wondered up the road and made our way in Zaccaria. We were seated on the right side of the roadway overlooking the water view. The waiter dressed in black slacks and a white shirt greeted us, with his half smoked cigarette perched in his lips if we would like to order or to just allow him to order for us. Our party of six thought it best to have the water bring on what ever he suggested. He brought our first corse, they were these baby fine clams in a wine and garlic reduction (non were larger than my finger nails). he delivered a bottle of a suave white wine to start our meal. The shellfish and wine paring was perfection and the flavor was delicious, we knew at that moment as we looked at each other that this meal was going to be special.. Our waiter next brought us razor clams in another delicate sauce, they were as if the angels had kissed each one. Soft and flavorful. The next corse was building in density and richness and was either calamari or octopus I don't remember which, but what I do remember it was prepared in a fennel and garlic tomato rich brother with sutured onions and celery that I can almost taste as I am writing this review. Our next corse was fish either Bronzino or Sea Bream don't really know, but hearty to enjoy with a robust Chianti from the southern regions, We sopped up every bit of it with the rustic loaf bread and the downed it with swigs of a most delicious Chianti. Our desert corse was a lemon chiffon extravaganza with a freezing cold glass of lemoncello aperitif . I recommend this to all of my friend that visit the Amalfi Coast. read more
