I don't even know where to begin. The perfect blend of salty, spicy, sweet, savory...you name it, this spot has got it! This is one of the few places that I will gladly try new foods. The goat was impeccable and the Rasta pasta was phenomenal. Everyone there is hospitable and attentive to customer needs. They are transparent about pricing which I really appreciate. The food is worth every penny. Love the chalk wall with people's rave reviews written on it. If you're not sure whether you'd like a dish, just try it and I doubt you'll be disappointed. read more

Good price and the staff was super helpful in providing recommendations! Settled in the bowl which was delicious!

We tried the plantains, wings, ox tail, shrimp Rasta pasta with chicken, and shrimp curry. The ordering process was a bit of a hassle but the food made up for it big time. All the food was cooked to perfection and very tasty. Some of the dishes are pretty spicy (which I love), just a forewarning. read more

This place has arguably the greatest Chicken Curry I have ever eaten. It is perfect. I would not change a thing. Mixed with the rice and cabbage, I have now ate this two days in a row. Worth every penny. read more

WOW. This place is AMAZING. Family owned and Veteran operated, this place bleeds "Local". I ordered the Jerk Chick Flatbread and Mac N Chz. The flatbread that was packed with Flavor. I wish I would of ordered two. The chicken was juicy and tender. The Mac N Chz was better than any I've ever had before, and I'm from Texas. Will definitely be back! Only compliant was its a tad pricy but so is everything is Alaska. Thank you for a delicious, home-cooked meal!! read more

Da J3rk Spot - Flatbread and Mac N Chz - Caribbean Near Me - Eagle River, Alaska

My buddy and I were looking for a Jamaican spot near Anchorage and stumbled upon this restaurant. We made the 30 min trek into Eagle River and it was worth every minute of the drive. The Ox Tail was on point as was the curried chicken. The flavor was rich and the way the spices enhanced the flavors of the meat was wonderful. I'm excited to eat my way through the menu during my upcoming trips back to Alaska. read more

This spot is great. I got the shrimp jerk bowl. The meal is at least two servings. The veggies were sautéed to perfection and the flavor is delicious. The spicy is a true kick but it's not so over powering that you can't taste anything else which I like. This place is great and I hope they stay open for a long time. read more

Food is busin! The shrimp and chicken bowl is super flavorful and has a combo of flavors that's amazing!

The food is amazing and authentic. I love the fun atmosphere and the staff is top notch. I like that everything is cooked fresh and the wonderful flavors! read more

Omg, where to begin?! I was really wanting to try the chicken quarter plate (leg/thigh) but they sold out, so I decided on the chicken wing plate. These were some of the most flavorful wings I've had! The flavor is so well-balanced. Just the right amount of sweetness, perfect amount of salt, a little bit of spice, and a bit of tanginess. SO GOOD! They gave me 3 large wings, a generous portion of red beans and rice, and a few good-sized pieces of these sweet, soft, delicious plantains. Everything complimented each other so well. You have to try them out! And the owners are super nice! Can't ask for much more than that. :) read more

Da J3rk Spot - Wing plate - Caribbean Near Me - Eagle River, Alaska

Visited a place in Eagle River called 'Da J3rk Spot'. Very friendly and helpful staff member? at the register. Unfortunately that's as good as it got. We felt the food was expensive for what we ordered and what we received. The food wasn't that good. My chicken sandwich was dry and chewy with too much sauce. I ordered a side of rice & peas? Apparently thats what the menu says now? Anyway it looks and tasted like rice and beans to my wife and myself. Unfortunately they were also dry and tasted old maybe a little burned? Sorry guys, not very good. I try to give every place a second chance and was going to give this place another go but after reading the negative response We won't! read more

Tried the food here and it was really good. Had the Shrimp Pasta and I had to do a little dance as I ate it. It does have a kick to it, which makes it better to me! My daughter had the wings and she enjoyed them as well. Plantains are good too. Food taste fresh and cooked to order which even more of a plus. Wish I took a picture but I started eating it before I thought about it. read more

Fries were very soggy. Mac n cheese seemed old. Rasta pasta was good but is it worth $25? It's ok, not great.

Tried the wings at the Harvest Fest and the flavors of the wings blew me away! Definitely a must try if you're into wings!

5/5 would recommend. Had been hearing of how flavorful the wings were and wanted to try, sadly they were out of wings but we tried the jerk chicken bowl, fried plantains, Mac and cheese, and the original and mango sauces were delicious! read more

Food was way over priced for the amount you get and not very good. Boxed mac and cheese is better my kids wouldn't even eat it. Smallest piece of chicken in the jerk meal. Overall not worth it. read more

Me and my sister have followed Da J3rk Spot on ig for a while now and decided today would be the day that we make the trip out to ER. Food was ready on time. Everything we got was great and well seasoned. The plantain chips were perfectly crispy and the bread pudding is a must! read more

Food is amazing! The meals are cooked to order so you will never get any cold food unless you take forever to pick it up. Service was great and courteous. Nice to have an option other than Mexican and Asian food. My only gripe is the food is a little costly but then again this is Alaska so everything is expensive. Strongly recommend this place for some good authentic Caribbean food. read more

1out if 10 service sucks food was old rice was hard don't waste your money please!!!!!!

My second time here and WOW - every bite I was Mmmm, mmmm, mmmm'ing. My roommate said it sounded like I was in taste bud heaven! I got the oxtail dinner. The meat was cooked with intense flavor. I usually am not a fan of some gristle, but I literally found myself sucking on the bones it was sooooo good that I didn't mind the gristle at all. It wasn't an overwhelming amount either. It went great with the rice, cabbage and plantain. I also got the jerk chicken salad. Super fresh ingredients, the chicken was seasoned well and then this creamy, mildly spicy dressing to marry all the flavors. This was great with the dinner. For dessert the fried, sweet plantains rock my world. I split everything in 1/2 and will eat the leftovers for lunch tomorrow. This was a HIGHLY SATISFYING experience! I can't wait to try more things out! I'm a HUGE fan!!! Yummmm!!! read more

First time going. I love when there is beautiful local artwork on display at a local restaurant. It's a we support each other kind of thing. The cashier was very nice, respectful, and very helpful. She let me know how long it takes for food to cook without me asking, and helped me pick out something I would love. We got 2 jerkchknmelts and it was made to perfection. I had one made spicy and it was just enough to still taste all the delicious flavors. I ordered Mac and cheese for my 2YO daughter and it was tad bit spicy but she is trained already in the spicy food field so it was just right for her. Also I have never tasted better plantain chips. Aaah so good. Please stop by and leave a review this place deserves way more hype and more recommendations from word of mouth. Did I mention their to go containers are eco friendly read more

This place is great. Super fun flavors, definitely a much needed change for Eagle River. So happy they decided to make a home here. The wrap was definitely my favorite. The jerk sandwich was really good also, sweet but in a really interesting way. The wings were awesome. Everything was pretty dang good. read more

First let me say it is hard to find good food in Alaska beyond a hamburger or pizza. We stayed in the Chugiak area for about 10 days and tried the spot three times. I tried three different dishes, jerk chicken, shrimp bowl and the chicken wings. All great! My wife couldn't get past the chicken wings!!! The wings are great, with a choice of sauces but these are the whole wing so order half as many your used to eating. Oh and the cooked plantains and plantain chips are a must try. Definitely bringing a little taste of the Caribbean to Alaska. read more

Great Food I tried here for the first time over the weekend. I am from the Caribbean and I can say the food here is authentic. The jerk was spot on! Regular is mild for Caribbean folks but they can make it spicy. Regardless, it's delish! All the dishes I tried were great and service was amazing! I will definitely be coming back. Highly recommend. read more

Great great place to grab some grub. I had the Jerk chicken, of course it's a jerk spot. The food quality and quantity was very solid. My only gripe was the price. It is all cook fresh but I would have bought more if I wasn't going to drop a check on food. read more

Customer service was phenomenal! Food was amazing! The lady that took our order was so friendly & sweet. Love everything about this place! Would post pics but we are it all too fast. The hibiscus punch is addictive! Can't wait to try the wings & braised oxtails next visit! read more

Ordered the J3rk Chicken Sandwhich. I never had such a dry sandwich. They need to add more original j3rk sauce or some other condiment to it. Have a drink nearby for every dry bite of sandwich you'll be taking. .Ordering something else next time. read more

I came here to see if they had Jamaican beef patties but since they didn't, I ordered a jerk chicken sandwich and it was fantastic!! The spicy-ness of the jerk seasoning paired well with the natural sweetness of the plantains on a perfectly toasted bun. Also, the hibiscus tea was wonderfully refreshing . Glad I checked this place out! read more

This was so good I am looking forward to my next visit. Customer service was top notch.

Don't really have to write a comprehensive review the experience. Terrible service from start to finish. The staff seemed lost with regard to food availability and wait times. Information was outdated. read more

I got scammed. Set up my birthday dinner here and agreed to 25 percent gratuity. I stayed until the end and made sure everything was paid and they said everything was good to go. I call back to get my deposit back and she said they didn't get the the whole 25% tip. I asked how that could be since we checked out at the end and we were told everything was taken care of. Then she said she would check her paper work for the credit card charges but there is no way they can tell how much cash tip they got because they did not clean out the tip jar previously. Now they don't want to give me my deposit back. I told the owner I didnt think this was right and I was told my deposit would be taken of my food total but since I forgot to request it I should get my money back. She refused. Started talking about how she spent $60 on balloons ( that I didn't ask for) and we received items we didn't pay for, and they removed the service fee for credit card use. I told her i didn't need $60 ballons nor did i ask for them so I shouldnt be charged for them and the service fee was not removed and we paid it everytime we placed an order.. She said regardless she was not giving me my deposit back. she then said she could send me a gift card but I couldn't come back to her store after I used it. I agreed to the gift card, and never received it! read more

Had take out after a friend's recommendation. Oxtail and rice with peas was my favorite. Also tried the jerk chicken, mac and cheese, and plantains. The thigh served for the jerk chicken was on the smaller side and a bit less spiced than expected but delicious. The fried plantains were savory and sweet with great flavor. Had the bread pudding for desert. Great consistency with that cinnamon sweetness expected. We would order all of these items again and try other menu options. Happy to have new and different options in the Eagle River area. read more

What a great addition to Eagle River! Very quick and delicious food...all served with a friendly and inviting staff. Definitely recommend this place to anyone passing through or living here. Don't listen to the people giving low reviews because of wait times...those people should stay home. read more

Well first I'd like to say that my boyfriend tried this place first and fell in love with their food. We decided to get some again tonight since I haven't tried it, and they said they closed at 7 but still offered to take our order at 7:40, as they still had plenty of food for the day. They put in an order for us and were extremely friendly and accommodating, and even remembered my bf stopping by that week. So far the favorites are the mac and cheese and jerk chicken flatbread but their plantain chips are also amazing and fresh. Seriously, hard to come across a place like this! It's a hidden gem & well worth the money. read more
