Growing up as Latin American this place brought me home. The flavors and variety of food gives me something to look forward to in this state so far away from my culture. During lunch or dinner they are full so get there early. read more

Friendly staff, food was delicious. Small dinning area but cute. Their food Cafeteria like. You pick what you want and they put in a container for you. You can order stuff as well. They make them fresh for you. read more

The Arepas and black beans are absolutely delicious!!! I had both the chicken and the shredded beef. Both were outstanding as well as the avocado sauce. They gave me with it. The cheese sauce was good too. read more

From the first whiff, the aroma is a entiendo of smoke and spice--charred edges teasing you before a single bite even lands on the tongue. The dish arrives as a vibrant mosaic of meats--succulent chicharron, beef, chicken and ribbons of smoky sausage--all mingling together with your tostones stacked on the side of the tray asking to be paired with any one of those stars. The result feels like a guided tour through a grand butcher's market, with each cut playing a distinct solo while harmonizing in a chorus of savory goodness. About the Food, I don't have no complains It's pretty fresh and good this is probably one of the best Latin restaurants I had try but only complain i have that I want to share it's the price the menu has a whole different price but when you order it's 3-4$ more you guys should fix that so customers knows from the jump how much they'll be paying, I ordered a yarao it said on the menu 13.95$ when i order it's 17$ read more

I had a driver come to my house empty handed after they couldn't get into Sunday's...after Sundays confirmed the order. This happened TWICE to me. Well, third time's a charm, I guess. We got the Jerk Chicken (which is a sandwich, BTW) and the Ropa Veija (shredded beef served with beans, rice, and maduros (ripe plantains)) Both were very tasty! This is very unique food for Anchorage, or even the entire state of Alaska for that matter. It had a nice mix of prickly spice and estery fruit flavors, just as Caribbean food should! Give them a shot! But, I HIGHLY recommend NOT doing DoorDash, and calling them up to make sure they are open for pickup. I can't stress enough how inaccurate their online hours/availability seem to be.

I don't know what I expected…read more But it wasn't what I walked into. The food is tasty, like homemade tasty. There is no effort at presentation. This place would fit better as a counter at a gas station. You pick from what they have available. The choice are varieties of pork, beef, or chicken. Many are sitting in vats if liquid and the meat is unseen near the bottom. It's expensive for what you get. You pay after you eat, which is weird. Each plate was 17 dollars (with a bottle of water) and it asks you to tip. That caught me off guard. The only service you get is the lady up front scooping the food on the plate. She doesn't check on you, she doesn't get your drinks, nothing. It's like McDonalds style service, which I wouldn't tip for. Yet I felt obligated since there was an option to tip. There are about four drink options. Water, Coke, Diet Pepsi, and Malt Goya. There is a large seating area, a TV, and a fish tank. But it is good. And the meat falls off the bones. The plantains wouldn't be any better in Miami (and I've had plantains many times in Miami). The rice is a generous helping. I was just hoping for more options, a better set up, and maybe table service. Maybe it's more of a lunch/takeout place. There was certainly more room in the food case. And they advertised a Cuban sandwich on the window, but it was no where in sight once inside. I'd go back if they added some greens to the menu. And if the price dropped a little. Or if I discover there really isn't any other tropical/Latin food anywhere else in Alaska.
