One thing I love about Hawaii is the shrimp trucks, so I stopped here for the coconut shrimp. It was ok, not very flavorful and I didn't enjoy the pineapple papaya salsa. The service was also pretty slow. Overall not impressed. There are better places to eat in Hana. read more

Not friendly at all. Food was mediocre. Lacked flavor. Wouldn't eat here if there were more options open on the road to Hana. So much room for improvement. Especially in the way they treat their customers. The only reason they are in business is because of tourism. They should be more thankful for their patrons and treat them better. Me and my family went here for lunch because we were on a long drive and nothing was available due to COVID-19. It was grandmothers 62nd birthday and she really wanted to try it. Most of my family got Fish and Chips and they were horrible. They tasted like they were microwaved and I think they might have been Gortens microwavable Panko fish. We put on vinegar and it didn't even phase the fish. You couldn't even taste the malt vinegar. We tried the fries hoping it was better and they were horrible as well. Everything tasted like it was premade. It was $90 and we could have gone and bought Gortens microwavable don't know how this place has 4 stars and made it through covid. This little truck is heaven sent for those of us on the road, tired and hungry. But I suspect that even the locals love their food. We were so hungry that we thought even just ok food would be welcomed. And then, reality hit. No exaggeration here, I promise. The fact is that they really know what they are doing, their food is delicious. My husband had the fish burger and definitely gave it five stars. I had the bacon cheese burger with Swiss cheese and it was excellent. The other members of our group had fish and chips and really enjoyed them, they call them, the best they've had. I'm so happy we ate here. We came all the way from cold NJ/NY and made it our mission to eat from taco spots like these. The staff was super nice. We ordered the Fresh fish tacos (Mahi mahi) and it tasted super fresh and we loved the addition of chopped pineapple. We liked it so much that we went back and ordered the Cajun Ahi tacos. This is hands down the best food truck in Hana, but also one of the best food trucks on the whole island. Brian is the owner/operator and everything this chef puts together is top notch. Da Fish is popular for locals as most arriving on the food strip chose this over about 3 other nearby roadside businesses. 4/5 fish tacos good not great, with odd tortilla chips and salsa on the side. 3/5 Cheeseburger will do in a pinch but reminded of a Gordons frozen patty. The 3/5 fish of the chips unusually thick cut (was it ono?). Batter/breading forgettable but ok. Shrimp po boy 4 stars. Common comment: bland. About $60 tab straight up, no beverages. read more

EXCELLENT!!! This food would stand up as outstanding in Manhattan! We had the Fresh Fish Plate... Mahi Mahi was the catch of the day and it was cooked perfectly and the side dish sticky rice and vegetables with a sweet chili sauce was fantastic. Phenomenal food truck! We actually met the owner while visiting Maui brewery and his daughter recommended we go while in Hana. Glad we did! Their sign said freshest fish in Hana but we felt it was the freshest we had while in Maui! My husband had the fish burger and I had the fish tacos. Superb!! The staff were very friendly. We also went to breakfast the next morning and got there at 710am, they technically didn't open until 8am but they kindly served us then! Da Fish is hands down the best fish spot in Hana and quite honestly better than any spot we ate at in Lahaina and Wailea. We were lucky enough to meet the owner Brian at the bar at Hana Ranch the night we arrived and checked out his food truck the following day. I had the special which was seared poke and it was fabulous. Enough to feed 2 but I ate the whole thing! We went back every day but he is only open Friday to Monday. We would have eaten here daily if we could. On our second visit he made me the same dish and my Boyfriend had the Opah special which was amazing. It's been hard to find great food especially fresh fish in Hana that is not overpriced and this is the spot. Both our dinners came to around $28. Can't say enough about the food, service and value. read more

Perfect Ono fish burger! Best we've had since we arrived in Maui one week ago. Fish was as fresh as can be. Very large portion size. Impressively tasty brioche bun.
