Best pizza i've ever had, i came with my wife, order a magherita pizza, cuz i use that to judge pizza. It was so great i ordered their signature pizza, da baffetto (I hate toppings on pizza, i think it takes away from the pizza experience). Then i went back with friends (it was a 2 week trip, honeymoon actually) the next day and i order 3 magherita pizzas, i was only able to finish 2 pies and a slice... i was so sad. This is a review for the food, i DO NOT CARE about the ambiance or setting or anything, you come here for quite possibly the best thin crust pizza you'll ever have. if ppl here give bad reviews or take away a star cuz you have to sit family style with other ppl, or cuz of long lines or rude service, well these yelpers are idiots, yes any of you yelpers that take away stars or ratings cuz of that, are just place idiots, hi idiots! anyway, yes you will face LONG lines if you come after 7, plan to come at 6:30 and you'll have seating, plan to sit with other unknown ppl, plan to get a waiter that comes and brings you pizza, and thats it, our waiter by the way, carried 8 pies! so they have skill! This place is a major attraction for both locals and tourists being that it is located right next to Piazza Navona. You will absolutely enjoy, but be patient if you see the line as there are NO RESERVATIONS NO CASH AND NO REGRETS! As a NYC'er who is particular about pizza, I noticed this restaurant due to the consistently long lines in front of it. - but also noticed the mediocre 3.5 Yelp review. On a Sunday night at 10:30pm when there were no lines, we decided to try it out. We tried the pizza margharita (excellent), pizza al salame (excellent), pizza da baffetto (pretty good), and a calzone (ok). The decor was quite sterile and bland, without any Italian charm. The service was really quite gruff. No one checked on us, we had to ask for water despite the empty water glasses, and very solemn staff. I think the 3.5 rating is spot on. We had lunch here today, what a find! We shared a medium pizza Baffeto which was absolutely delicious. I had never had a pizza with an egg on it but it was great. So many tastes with fresh tomatoes, onion, pepper, sausage, mushroom and artichoke, YUM! Many were having a medium pie as a single serving but we found the medium to be just perfect. We went to Da Baffetto for dinner at the recommendation of one of our tour guides. When we went around 6:30/7:00p there wasn't much of a line and we were seated almost immediately, but leaving an hour later the line was MUCH longer. My family and I ordered the hot salami, margherita, and sausage peppers and onion, The pizza was pretty good - crispy crust with a slight bend and not too much sauce. It certainly tasted more authentic than a lot of the tourist-trap cafes Rome is so infamous for. However, I still think the hype this place gets was undeserved. Even though the pizza was good, it wasn't exceptional and I don't know that I would wait in the hour-plus line just to have some...certainly no complaints about our experience, but maybe I'm just missing something. The atmosphere was a bit detached but not bad. We were seated upstairs with about 25 other patrons, and one waiter was in charge of us all. Because of this, he was constantly in a hurry and couldn't spend too much time with any one table. He did a great job, though! Overall, I'd say this place is worth trying if you see there isn't a line outside. If the wait is long and you have another place or two nearby you also want to hit up, opt for those. read more

Just as good as what you'll get in Naples. Although this may be considered "gourmet" in some parts of the world, this is not. This is pizza, and a local pizza shop at that. It will be some of the best tasting, and most authentic pizza you'll ever try, just don't expect a fine dining experience to go along with it. Thin crust crispy traditional Roman pizza to die for! It's a very casual indoor/outdoor restaurant. Not dressy, upscale or anything of that sort but you will see it packed most of the time. If you are in Rome for a few days that means you will need pizza and if you want to go old school that means a trip to Da Baffetto. It's probably not the finest pizzaria in town but for the authentic thin crust Roman pizza with a side order of organised chaos this place is hard to beat. We turned up last Sunday night around 9pm and joined the short queue outside waiting to be seated. On a very hot, sultry night we had the great good fortune to get a table upstairs in the air conditioned room after only ten minutes. The atmosphere might possibly be better if you are seated outside at one of the tables in the side alley but we were very thankful for a bit of cool air. There is a pretty extensive list of pizza on the menu which you can either have as a medium size or the large for a couple of euros more. I had the prosciutto while B went for the courgette option and to wash it down we had a large bottle of water and a half litre jug of the very drinkable house white wine in total our bill came to a very reasonable 25EUR. Despite the place being full to bursting point our pizza came pretty quickly and was served up on a very fetching metal plate which just added to its appeal. Thin and crispy with a slightly charred edge this was the pizza I had been dreaming of since my arrival in Italy. Just the right amount of tomato topping smeared over the base and thin salty slices of prosciutto made this just perfecto. B appeared to be pretty pleased with her pizza as well!! Fine dining this is not but if you want tasty pizza in a busy, bustling restaurant surrounded by young Italians and tourists of all nationalities then this could be the place for you. We liked it a lot and look forward to a return visit when we are next in Rome. read more

This such a fun, local italian pizza the place. When you walk into the small restaurant you see the chefs making pizza right before your eyes and they are TALENTEND. This place is famous for razor thin pizza crust, and their signature has a fried egg in the middle. My favorite is the prosciutto con funghi. I reccomend getting there for an earlier dinner if you do not want a wait, but i assure you it is well worth the wait. read more

This was truly my most memorable meal in Rome - so good that I went back twice! The pizzas were crispy thin but not soggy, and you could smell and taste the authentic oven wood aroma (just a tinge)... Try the sausage pizza (minced meats and onions), I was pleasantly surprised to find it so tasty. Don't expect much service, the staff are overworked because there is always a queue every night, and you're not encouraged to linger once you finish your meal. However, there's a magical buzz in this place, and you get to watch the chefs at work, making the pizza dough and creating each pizza to the customer's specification. If you come here with a party of three or less, be prepared to have strangers sitting in the same table. It's traditional style of a roman pizza, but I can't tell huge difference from our local bleeker street pizza in NYC, except for more flavors. I ordered the baffetto pizza (supposed to be the signature one?), it's good. Fresh and classic. The ham on mozzarella: although I'm here alone, I don't wanna miss this dish that recommended by a friend. So I would say, it's totally enough to have two people share this dish and a medium size pizza. The ham is soooo good (and also the portion) as you can expected here in Rome, and also the mozzarella. But may be a little too heavy and oily at the end, though heavenly delicious with the first bite. I even asked for packing them home. And it still tastes good on the next morning. However it may cost more time for a pizza. When I finished most of my mozzarella and ham, my table-mate was still starving and waiting for their first pizza. read more

If I could give this place zero stars I absolutely would. My boyfriend and I try really hard to be as polite and friendly as possible. We understand that obviously there is going to be a language barrier so we try our best. Today we even used our google translate trying to make it easier on the woman who was taking our order. She was so rude to us and was obviously extremely frustrated with us for no reason. We we were trying to be as accommodating as possible. Finally she called over another waiter who spoke English, he too was super annoyed to have to deal with us. I truly can't understand why they were so unwelcoming. Finally, we were able to order pizza. It was cold, flavorless, and even made our stomachs hurt. We've had plenty of pizza during our stay here and we have never had this experience. After the worse service I've ever had in a restaurant, mozzarella like rubber, worse pizza salami ever on my friend's plate and totally burned pizza on my plate, we thought it couldn't get worse.... Worst service I've ever experienced in Roma. Waiter was an older overweight guy, maybe about 50. Didn't appear very happy that we were there. We ordered some frizzante acqua, he brought the bottle but no glasses. After 5 minutes, I was forced to get up and retrieve 2 glasses out of the kitchen area so we could drink our water. Our pizzas arrived after everyone else was served even though we ordered before everyone else in our immediate area. My daughter never received the beverage she ordered. I'm usually a positive reviewer but I simply don't get why people seem to swoon over this totally average pizzeria, service is poor, bordering on snotty, (I thought maybe it was an anti-American thing, but the staff were equally indifferent to their Italian guests as far as I could tell) and the pizza is down right mediocre. I like thin crust as much as the next guy but their crust was essentially a cracker and the minuscule amounts of tomato sauce and cheese were attention getting, for all the wrong reasons. Tried the calzone as well, not much to recommend it.
