I love this place!!! It's so amazing, they always seem to have time to fit me in, instead of so many other nail salons that just saying yes they have time and when I come in, I end up having to wait way past my scheduled time and end up get upset or just leave. That DID NOT happen here, nor does it ever. Elizabeth is the sweetest and she always is so helpful with finding the perfect color to get for your nails. Every other place I go to, they always make me feel rushed to pick out a color so badly that I just pick one of my "safe" colors and always end up regretting it. At D'Zire nails they not only don't rush you, they help you out, even by painting a fake tip nail to show me what the color would look like outside of the bottle. It was amazing. Also, I have asked so many other nail shops to explain the difference in all the options of shellac and acrylic and THIS PLACE ACTUALLY told me the difference and turned me onto the dip powder that keeps my nails healthy and feels light and I love it!!!! After reading Sarah P.'s review, I decided it was high time I went and got my first manicure. How have I never done this before? Manicures are magical things. If I had known, I might have gotten one sooner! Seriously - my hands and arms are terrifically soft. Service, from beginning to end, was terrific. The owners, Jack and Minnie, are incredibly sweet - they offered me something to drink several times and they continually made sure I was comfortable. They were also highly attentive to detail. Both of them checked and rechecked my nails to make sure they were turning out okay and when Jack found a slight imperfection on one, he redid it. I'm the type of girl who loves painting her nails - I have a ridiculous collection of nail polish and my nails are always painted. I like to think I'm pretty decent at it, but there is no way I could make my nails look this fabulous. Jack was also telling me he can do any kind of nail art I wanted - something I will definitely take advantage of in the future. I received only a basic manicure, but I left feeling like a rock star, and it only set me back $15, not including tip. Say whaaat? I can get some stellar nails and wonderful smelling hands and arms for less than $20? You better believe I'm going to be back for more. This was a five star experience top to bottom. Things you need to know about D'Zire: 1. The staff/owners are awesome - friendly, welcoming (they offered me a drink as soon as I walked in), and they're happy to chat or do your nails quietly - you set the tone. They speak English well, which may not matter much for a simple mani/pedi but very important when you're getting nail art and trying to communicate what you want via abstract ideas or concepts. 2. It is super clean and modern with comfy chairs not just for pedis but at mani stations too. 3. They are talented - they told me multiple times that they could do any kind of nail design I could dream up - just to let them know what I wanted. At the end, they showed me some pics of the work they did at their previous salon in California and it was very intricate and impressive. Not only are they great at their designs, but they were meticulous with the application and shaping of my acrylics (I got rounded stiletto tips - see photo section).By the end my nails looked perfect and were exactly what I'd asked for. And they checked in multiple times to make sure I was getting what I wanted and that I was liking how the nails were turning out. 4. They are gracious - they thanked me many times for coming to check them out and wanted to know how I found them. They respect the power of Yelp and have a sign up asking to review if you like them. I like business that understands how powerful Yelp is... and at no time did they try to "buy" a review, even when I told them that I'm an avid Yelper. My tech, Jack, I believe his name was, was doing an awesome, meticulous job long before he found out I was on Yelp. I don't give out five stars easily but this was a great experience and I'm 100% pleased with the results. This is a wonderful place to go if you want to feel totally welcome and if you want to feel a little pampered. We just moved to Texas and I finally had the time to get my nails and toes done. So needed to feel pampered a bit and they did just that. I went in with just an 'idea' of what I wanted (Fall/Halloween design that my 2nd graders would really like) and while I had my hands and feet soaking, etc., they were looking up different designs to do...and I love how fun they are! ***UPDATED REVIEW*** I'm updating this strictly on the frustration level with dealing with the owner/management of this place. First, I get a comment that they're offering me a chance to come back, which promptly disappears. Then I get the meandering response that has nothing to do with my complaints that you can see below. Here are the facts: 1) The paraffin is, I'm sure, nice quality. You pay 5-7 at most places and this place charges 10. I have no interest in comments about changing it out, the bags, etc. I'm sure you guys are clean, but you're pricey. 2) Taking two hours to do a gel mani and a basic pedi is absurd. That is not due to me being antsy- I got antsy AFTER sitting there for an hour and a half and getting subpar service. 3) There is a difference between taking my phone to briefly look at a design and grabbing it, demanding the passcode, and walking away with it for ten full minutes. There's normal and there's uncomfortable. 4) My nails were crap. I'm sorry, but a gel mani that was lifting within TWO HOURS of coming home is ridiculous. I was forced to peel most of it off by day two because, as you can see in the picture, the tips were peeling off on all but two nails. I drove twenty minutes to try this place. Those services cost me NINETY dollars, with tip, and I tipped generously. Twenty percent DESPITE the poor service, the long wait, the insane music, and the rude guy doing my nails. Including gas I was out a cool 100 dollars thanks to this fiasco. Customer service, properly done, would say a refund is in order, not a lecture. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Maybe I came on an off day? Don't get me wrong- my nails look beautiful. Twenty extra bucks later and hands and feet are also softer thanks to paraffin treatments. But twenty bucks for that? Wow. This experience could have been great, except for a few major tiffs. 1) the music is insanely loud in here. I was trying to read quietly and kept having to reread thanks to the blaring of what sounded like the Mulan soundtrack. 2) It took me over two hours for a gel manicure (shellac) and pedicure. I was so damn antsy to get out of there! 3) My nail guy was brusque and sometimes very frustrating. At one point, while my hands were covered in paraffin, he insisted on my pass code for my phone so he could look up the picture the whole time for the design I wanted. Then he grabbed my phone and walked away with it for several minutes to show another girl. He kept trying to get me to talk him through looking through the app on my phone. I finally just asked him to put my phone down and take the paraffin off so I could do it. It was kind of a frustrating experience. In the end, I was out 90 bucks (including tip) for a basic pedi and a gel mani plus paraffin on both. That's steep. And for well over two hours, not very fun. ** as of one day later two of my nails are bubbled with the shellac coming off. I'm pissed. read more

Tried this place on a recommendation from a friend. I made an appointment there because it was a weekend. The place was pretty dingey inside which gave me pause but went ahead and got seated. I waited for the better part of 30 minutes for my pedicure to start. I was sitting for so long the water got cold that my feet were in. After awhile I just left. Not sure what the point was of making an appointment but didn't want to spend 90 minutes - 2 hours just trying to get a pedicure. Especially when it wasn't the nicest environment to relax in. I called and had an appointment for 11:30 for a fill and a pedicure. My pedicure went well, at first. When I got home I realized that my toes were not painted all the way. My fill was an absolute disaster!!!!! The guy who did my nails couldn't get the shape right, which really shouldn't have been an issue because they were just round! Hello......VERY basic stuff. Half my nails were the wrong shape, different lengths and crooked. He stepped on my toes and screwed up my pedicure. When I told him that I wasn't happy with the shape and asked him to fix them he kept yanking my arm and hands around. He was almost aggressive. It was so bad another lady had to come and "fix" them. She basically had to rebuild my nails with acrylic. So....now the shape was back to "normal" and we're on to polish. I didn't want anything crazy. I wanted 2 nails red, 1 blue, 1 white and one with a rainbow. The rainbow looks like a kid did it. The worst part was it took 4 hours!!!!!! 4 hours for a pedicure and a fill. They didn't offer me any compensation, took nothing off the bill for the crap job they did or even apologize for the horrible experience. However these young pretty girls were there at the same time and one of them couldn't get the ombré nails she wanted and they gave her a $10 gift certificate. So basically I spent $100 for the worst mani pedi experience I've EVER had. If I could give them no stars I would. I'm tempted to call and speak to the owner. I have been going to this salon since the beginning of this year and I have loved it. I have had a couple of experiences there that weren't the best but overall I'm satisfied. There are little things that bother me about this place. I originally came here because of the 15% off they offered on yelp (very sad they took it off). One technician I've dealt with is extremely rude and I hate when I get her. This most recent time my technician was nice but it took 2 hours to do my nails. I think it's crazy to charge $5 to just do a certain shape of nail. Now that the 15% is gone i don't know if it's really worth the price. My nails look amazing but $50 is kind of crazy, especially for a 2 hour job that has been done in a lot shorter of time. I'm a regular at this place but won't be going back. I went in to get a mani/pedi and was unhappy about the shape of my nails so I asked politely if they could fix them. They left me sitting with acetone on my nails for 30 minutes and then came back to me saying they didn't have time to do my nails since a lot of new people had walked in, even though I had been there long before anyone else showed up. I have no idea how this place has a four star rating. After making appointments ahead of time, my sister-in-law and I came in a few mins before our appointments. We picked out colors and proceeded to wait 15 mins post appointment time to be seated, where we waited another half hour with our feet in the tubs before anyone came over to start our mani/pedis. I showed the technician a picture from their own yelp of what I wanted done and she just gave me a color ring and told me to pick. After being moved from one seat to another a man came over to finish my process and I had to explain all over again what I wanted (opaque white/ whole nail) they both insisted it was a much more complicated and expensive process ombré French manicure. No, that's not what I want! just opaque white, no pink. I get this at other places all the time, I even showed them pictures of my own nails done this way. Well, now my nails are ridiculously thick poorly shaped with thick white polish with a layer of pink on top. I will never go here again. I have been going to this salon for 4-5 years now. I have always loved it because they have a wide variety of gel nail colors to choose from. The salon is normally buzzing and people are friendly. I get my nails done every 3 weeks. I have been through a few management transitions and some have started rocky, but this is the first time that I have ever thought to leave them. Today I walked in and the layout had been completely changed. They went from 6 nail stations to 3. They removed several of their spa chairs. When I asked for an SNS nail change they asked if I had an appt. I told them no. I have never made an appt in 5 years, I have been walking in as my schedule permits every 3 weeks. It was 3:30 and they asked if I could come back at 6 as all of their walk in spots were booked. There were 4 patrons in the store (clearly the rest had been chased away). I told her that I had been coming for years and the woman was not accommodating at all. The reason that I am writing this review or to let everyone know that this store has been a 5 star establishment in the past but the new management does not care about customer service or long term customers which is a shame considering the locations previous reputation. It clearly was not staffed to allow for the level of service that people are accustomed to. Such a shame because I have always loved this place. read more

Favorite nail place in Austin! Sue is my favorite. She did an S&S mani that lasted for over 3 weeks!!! I only came back in to get them redone because of growth, but they were still flawless after all that time, a ski trip, & working all day with kids. I started going to D'Zire Nails due to convenience of location with a new move I did about 2 years ago. I've gone in when they are extremely busy and I've gone in when there aren't very many people there. I have to say, I have never had a bad experience. I've had to go in because the polish chipped after only a few days and they always fixed it with no questions asked. While I usually get shallac I recently had solar nails done, they lasted over 3 weeks (and probably longer, but I had to go in because of growth). I have never had nails that didn't lift or snag. They do an excellent job and I feel they pride themselves on ensuring clients are satisfied. The women (and some men) that work there are incredibly nice. When they are busy, instead of having you wait for an hour and half, they will ask you come back when they know they can get you in and will even stay open after closing hours to get you done. No salon is perfect by any means. However, the management change has not effected clients at all. If anything, it's better. They have more colors to chose from for SNS, Shillac, and regular polish. They have the exact same amount of chairs for nails and toes (and they are all brand new!) as they did in the past and have even added a TV. Everyone has their own experiences depending on what's going on their life that day. If you want to try something, try it for yourself. If you don't like it don't go again. But trying to discredit a business because you had one bad experience after years of good experience, is wrong in my opinion. read more

Decided to try this place after moving to Oak Hill and absolutely loved it! Everyone was incredibly polite and took the time to ask if I was happy throughout the whole process. The other side wasn't even a straight line. I also got SNS NAILS, which looked great for the first couple of days.
