Alfonso and Raul SAVED our move day!!! They showed up right on time and got right to work. Following directions so naturally and swiftly--and execution was faultless! Extremely Courteous-so very sweet, even during the most stressful last two hours! They literally moved heaven and earth to pack us and repack what the movers before had not done quite right. I am Forever Grateful!!! read more

The actual movers were great, the owner not so much. One of the movers had dropped our ninja blender and apologized profusely. He ensured us the owner would appraise it [blender] and reimburse us. Also, the moving date originally requested was the day prior but they failed to show up in the agreed upon 3-6p window. It was only when I called for an update @545p were we given this info. My husband politely reminded the owner about the inconvenience, damaged property and him having to miss two days of work due to their error and poor communication and the owner ONLY took $50 off the final fee. read more

I would give this review zero stars if I could. I would not recommend this company to anyone. I used them for a local residential move from Grand Prairie to Arlington in August of 2020. The literally damaged EVERY single piece of bulky furniture they moved including appliances. Two full size dressers, my formal dining room table, my entry way table, my stainless-steel refrigerator, my home office desk and a box full of glassware was dropped and shattered. When we noticed the damage, we brought it to the "lead" mover's attention and became super unprofessional and rather agitated. He offered to discount 1 hour from the price which we did not accept since the hourly rate was $119.00 and the damages were more like thousands of dollars. He told me to call Vivian Jimenez, the claims department representative, which I did the same day of service on August 8, 2020. She asked me to submit pictures and fill out a claim form. I did so 5 days later. Vivian advised the process took 30 - 90 days. As of today, it's been 110 days and my emails and phone calls have not been returned. I plan to hire an attorney to sort this out but wanted to save anyone else from dealing with this huge INCONVENIENCE and unprofessional company. There are a million other companies out there - all of which are probably much more reputable than this one. Steer clear! Ps. I realize now I should have checked Yelp and not just google reviews. There is more than one person in the last few reviews who had the same issue. If nothing is done soon, maybe a class action law suit would get their attention. It seems there are quite a few of us in the same boat. read more

We did not have a good experience at all. After speaking with the owner on the phone, I had to call back 6 or 7 times (leaving voicemail each time) over several days until someone finally answered the phone and scheduled for the move. This move took 3 hours longer than expected, using our past experience with another company as a guide. Couple hours into the move, I had to voice my displeasure when I watched one of the crew members spent 16 min. to wrap one piece of glass! They also took a 40 min. lunch break in the middle of the move, which did not seem professional in my opinion. They did tell me I wasn't charged for that time. They offered to haul away 1/3 of a garage worth of unwanted items for an additional fee, which we accepted and appreciated, savings us the time to do it ourselves. Would have given them a higher rating. However, as we unboxed the next day we found many broken items. Two dressers had broken drawers. A floor lamp I specifically told them was fragile, plus another lamp, were broken beyond repair. The washer water hoses were installed incorrectly. Several rooms had the paint on the wall scrubbed off and required repairs. Needless to say, wet won't be repeat customers. read more

I hired this company to move a small 3 person hot tub for me which they assured me they could do. I paid a $100 deposit to secure my reservation and was given a window of between 12-2pm. They did not arrive until 4pm and when they got there they said they did not have the equipment they needed to move the hot tub with them and asked if they could reschedule me for the following day. I agreed. The following day I called and was told my window was between 3-6pm. I waited and waited for them and they flat didn't show up. I tried calling them and it goes straight to voicemail. At this point I simply want my deposit refunded as they first showed up 2 hours late as well as unprepared and then completely no showed altogether. The communication from this company is non existent and if they mess something up be prepared to be ghosted if you try and resolve it. Horrible experience. read more

On September 2016 I hired D-Town Movers to move my stuff from my 1 bdrm apartment in the Mockingbird Station area on 75 to the new place in Richardson also just off of 75... I'd packed almost everything and anything left would have been minor stuff anyway. Three guys showed up at the agreed time, from the start I didn't see any sort of urgency on their part, they moved at a very casual pace the entire time. They parked the truck on the far end of the building instead of the closer entrance, I then mentioned that there was another entrance that would be more convenient since the other one had steps and the gate opened at a weird angle that wouldn't allow them free movement. They decided to move the truck which took all of 40mins... my urgency was that they were charging over $100 every hour they went over the allotted time and I figured they weren't going to make it at that pace. A few times I noticed that they all went to the truck at the same time and took along time... I know what it takes to move my apartment contents, I've moved myself several times. Every time they left together it took twice as long as you'd think it should take. One time I went to check to see what the hold up was... one guy was moving stuff in the truck while the other joked around in the shade outside. The unloading went allot faster... almost in a hurry to the point that they seemed to be just dumping the boxes in the apartment and going back for more. I think that's where some of my appliances got the dings and my living room tv never worked the same when I finally got the time to set it up. I never brought it up because it was a three year old mid-tier tv so I figured I got my money's worth and it would have just been a coincidence and not their fault. The dings definitely happened during the move but it was nothing that hindered their normal use... so I didn't say anything of it either. The other reason for not bringing up anything is that I usually dont have time to run around trying to argue over small stuff, my apartment is basically just an overpriced storage for my stuff since I travel too much for work. Anyway... I ended up paying $150 over the agreed amount because it took longer than they quoted me. They were nice enough but not very professional so I wouldn't recommend them to anyone, I wish them well and hopefully be more professional. read more

I do not recommend D-Town movers for anything. Any company that operates business with such poor quality needs to close their door. A company with employees that lack interpersonal skills, lacking accountability from management, and disorganization which is an inconvenience to your customers. I could continue but clearly I have to prepare to actually move. D- Town movers or lack thereof fell short of actually moving my items. Although the staff was polite, it was over shadowed by the their ineffective communication skills in reference to my move. I used restraint from acting a donkey because I know it would be deflecting from the issue of the lost movers. My original move out date was on a Sunday between 8-10 am. I paid deposit of $25 on my credit card. I inquired of a confirmation number and was told that I would receive an email shortly from the main office. I did not. It's moving day(Sunday) and I noticed I did not receive an email. I called to confirm. My information was reviewed and my name was misspelled in the email. I spelled my information slowly and clearly. I asked for it to be spelled back for me and it was correct. Also.on this call, I was informed there was a change in my arrival time. It was no longer 8-10 am but 12-2 pm. I agreed to the new time and continued to prepare for the move. It is now 2 pm and I have not received a call, email or telegraph, maybe the carrier pigeon caught a ride with the movers and got lost as well. I called the main number back to check the status of the movers and no one knows where the Houston moving team is. It was clear the staff was confused. The background noise was hilarious. I can only assume that there was no hold button on the phone because I am sure they want the frantic whispers kept a secret. It seemed as though they knew they have been having trouble contacting this team for a while. A moment later someone returns to tell me they will contact me when they get someone. About 30 minutes pass and it begins to rain heavily. I contact the main number again to ask the status because the rain can effect the movers safety and speed. I was curious about the policies because, once again, I have still not received the email as of yet. The nice lady began to explain codes and rules that are mentioned in the confirmation email that I have not received. I tell the lady that the email is lost along with the movers. She reviews my information yet again. This is now the third time I have given my email. She realizes that the underscore was missing. Perhaps the gentleman was too ashamed to say he didn't know what it was but I digress. I opt to reschedule because per the rules (read to me by the way) they are not responsible for items ruined/ damaged in the rain. I must admit the lady was the most helpful because she was able to type my email address correctly for me to receive the confirmation with for Monday scheduled for 12 pm - 2 pm. The phone was passed to a manager and he mentioned they will arrive 3-6 pm instead. I agreed to the time and day one was done. Through all this disappointment wasted my awesome workout attire fit for an awesome move. Day 2 I waited by the phone ...and I waited by the phone. There was not a courtesy call to let me know they were in route by 5 pm. It was at this point, we began a beautiful game of phone tag where I was always IT. The infamous he say/she say began. Yet again, I called and no one knows anything. The movers are still lost in the wilderness of Jehovah. I called and this time the phone was going to voicemail. I called so much that it barely rang before it hung up. The handful of times I got someone the commentary would be the same. So, everyone is walking around with amnesia forgetting that I have an email of this scheduled move. Guess what??? I called again in 15 min increments before I was sent to voicemail again. Finally, I got a call back. A gentleman said the manager Edward will call you in 2 min. Guess what else? You got it! No call! I believe I was rotated among all the staff. At 6:30 pm I was able to talk to the lady one last time and basically pleaded with her to find someone anywhere to tell me something. She says as soon as I get someone I'll call you. I already knew she wasn't going to call or that Edward have the courage to contact me, I would have had better luck getting in touch with Scooby Doo and Mystery Inc. to find my movers who I'm starting to believe either don't exist or are the three blind mice who are still trying to find my place. It's now 7 pm and I know that D-town Movers are not coming. read more

We used D-Town Movers as a subcontractor and they have just made the experience for us and our client so difficult. Vivian in sales was always so unresponsive. I was supposed to hear back from management and they were always out of town and could not find time to email me. We finally set up a time for the delivery of my client and DTown Movers just doesn't show up, don't reply to emails and leave you on hold until you get tired and have to call back again. We have yet to get the Piano delivered to our client, but the check was definitely cashed already. The receptionist is continuing to tell me that all managers are out of the office and that she will send an email. USE ANYONE ELSE BUT DTOWN MOVERS! read more

I used D-Town movers back in October. The first team was 3&1/2 hours late and did not finish the simple 1 bedroom move. Another team came the next day and were much better. They commented that the move should not have taken the first team so many hours. I contacted the manager Edward to discuss a rate or hourly compensation. He never responded to my 4 requests. I understand people have bad days, it is how it is taken care of that matters. Very disappointed that after the fact, no response was received. read more

guys worked hard to get us moved but damaged our furniture and didn't pad and wrap furniture like was shown on the website. Ended up being a 2 day move for a 3 bedroom house. Guys were rookies when it came to packing a truck. Called customer service and they assured me they would come the next day to finish job. But the next day I was charged an additional $500.00. Manager would not reimburse money even when I was told multiple times I wouldn't be charged. Very disappointed in the service. read more

I've tried being patient and communicative. But it seems my good faith in judgment is being tested. On November 9th I hired this company to move me from Addison, TX to downtown Dallas. They were all too prompt and courteous to get the deal, they showed up on time, and seemingly handling everything with care and precision. Doing review of furniture for no damage, I realized my mattress was completely ruined. They wrapped everything else but elected not to wrap the mattress. They dragged it on concrete and into their filthy bed truck. My mattress was purchased several months prior to my move, it's no way the damages occurred could've been in place already. I'll let my pictures and videos do the speaking. But this is unacceptable. I've talked to Vivian who is supposed to be taking care of me and getting this corrected. Of course she quickly says "it'll be about 90 days before a final answer can be given." But I disagree with this, it didn't take 90 days for me to pay you guys, furthermore; my issue is quite simple in my eyes. I was willing to be okay with a deep cleaning of my mattress but I'm sure the stains are set in now. But now I seek replacement of mattress or full reimbursement. Cause now it's a perfectly good ruined sleep number mattress. I've emailed and called several times, much of my responses left unresponsive. I even dropped by the office to give receipts of purchase, what I saw when I walked in definitely should've been my reason not to use them as a company. But I didn't see that before hand. Please think twice before hiring this company, as I certainly wouldn't want your $1600 mattress to be trash afterwards. read more

Do not use them! I was given a time window of 3-5, I got a call saying they were gonna be late.. ok. Then i got another call at 8pm to tell me they would not be coming. Extremely frustrated with the customer service from Eddy,Edward and the one that answers the phone! Never again! read more

I've always used yelp to find movers but have not had the best results. Previously, I'd sort for ratings and dip lightly into reviews and then I'm sold. That had resulted in two very bad experiences with two other companies who were rated well in DFW. So when it came to my latest search, it was extensive. I went through yelp, google and Facebook reviews and asked all of the movers, (I inquired on at least 10+), detailed questions with follow up after follow up. I also looked at price, of course. After my research, D Town stood out. Not only were they relatively quick with they're yelp msg responses but they were friendly and polite even with my intrusive questioning. Also their pricing was competitive and paid dividends in return. The reason I give this much detail to my decision to go with D Town is for those who have been burned like me. Know that I have dug in and committed and can say unequivocally, D TOWN lives up to the hype. I had three movers, moved from a second floor 2bed to a third floor 2bed. No complain or slacking by the movers. All three were hard working, polite and friendly. I'm hoping next time I move will be at least 2 years out and into a house but I can say I will without a doubt use D-Town when I do. read more

Hired movers to move a refrigerator that they damaged during move. The company agreed to pay for the damages and 30 days later they never sent check they promised. These guys were fantastic! They ran a little behind schedule but communicated that with me so I wasn't caught unaware. In fact it worked out because I needed a little extra time to get a few things squared away. When they showed they didn't start tracking time until they saw the apartment and confirmed everything they were moving. They then wrote down the start time and had me sign so everything was documented. When they started they didn't waste a second! They were moving machines! So focused and in tune with each other they barely said a word to one another, lol. All in all, they packed and moved a two bedroom apartment from Addison to Irving in under 4 hours with two furniture disassemble and reassemble jobs. Everything made it and nothing was broken or damaged. I would use these guys again. PLUS they're more affordable than the other companies AND offer price matching! read more

This was the worst experience with movers I've ever had and I've moved a lot. Two crews failed to come. Our move eads scheduled from 8-10 am. The third crew finally arrived away 12:30 yet one person short. Then the other crew who was supposed to be moving the stuff out of the other location so my brothers stuff could be moved in weren't on their way till 5 pm. We had to just use the 2 man crew to move the other stuff out. That was like 3 crews that didn't show up. Then they tried to charge me for a 3 person crew. I was put on hold in total for more than an hour. The manager said he was sorry and would give me a discount and fix it.... but they needed to make money too. Then my father called and said if they didn't fix this they were going to get a bad review. I was then called and told they didn't appreciate my father's threat. I'm sorry but it's not a threat. Reviews are never too warn people and them getting all their friends to post ask these fake reviews is awful. Oh and guess what their discount was. No tax. what a joke. I paid the $850 but they are not a professional moving company. Who ever owns and runs this business does a poor job and relies on good employees to appease the customers. The only good thing I can say was the 2 man crew were amazing. That is literally it. As a business owner I would never ever ever in my life tell a customer well we need to earn money too after making multiple big mistakes. They even tried to blame me. It was ridiculous. I'd rather pay 2 times the amount i paid for better service. I would have been better off hiring my own people and renting a truck. It would have been less of a hassel. read more

D-Town Movers - Movers Near Me - Plano, Texas

This is the worst possible moving company you can hire. They milk the clock by wandering around with nothing in their hands, while the "supervisor " talks on his cell phone. Also they were FOUR HOURS late. read more

Stay away from these amateurs if you value your belongings! After arriving 5 hours late despite the scheduled time being confirmed. The moving crew could not finish the job before the day was over. Because of a late start time this allowed them to get caught flood rains. That wouldn't be a problem normally, but the moving truck that arrived with was later found to have a gaping hole in the roof. This was unknown to me until my boxes began to be unloaded. The boxes were soaked and misshapen. Efforts to resolve with this company have been useless. No call backs when they said they would. Even a questionable "disconnect" when I tried to speak to Edward, who I think is the owner..... thanks John. I did not to try to call back. I just secured another company last minute, who luckily happened to be really good, a little more expensive but well worth it. For this crappy service I would expect cut-rate pricing, but getting my belongings "trashed" was quite costly. read more

- Didn't start until 10:45am. My time slot was between 8-10am. Being the first client of the day, you would think they would start earlier than 10:45am. - The two employees started off in bad moods. Their mood reflects on how well they treat my furniture. - Instead of working together carrying the big pieces, they worked against each other and my furniture suffered the consequences. - They drug my big pieces on the ground, i.e. mattresses, bed frame, couch, etc. I can actually see a trail of them dragging my bed frame on the concrete floor inside my apartment building. - They broke my bed frame, then waited (not sure how long) to tell me about it. - It took from 10:30am-5:00pm to move contents of a one bedroom apartment 2 miles then unload. We will see how the reimbursement process goes for broken/damaged items...to be continued. read more

Worst movers experience ever!!!!!! WORST experience with movers. Paid for 3 guy crew, and got a - Adrian (high school/ college kid) and a guy in his 40/50's & a 78-year-old. YES, 78!!! I asked him and he flat out said he was that old!!! Took 6 hours to complete a job that should have taken 4 1/2 tops. One of the movers got sick, didn't work for over a 1hr. So I am paying for a 3 man crew but getting 2; and on top of it, it was Adrian who got sick. The owner, i think, Edward and Vivian would never reply. I asked to speak to him every day for a week. Nothing!!!!!! Ed was in a meeting!!! I hope my 600 bucks was worth it because you lost my busy and any who asks me who I used for movers. What a joke. You take my hard-earned money. I DO NOT recommend using D-Town Movers. We moved in September and this was our third time using them. Their staff has changed and they are no longer an honest company. They did not send the right crew as requested and when they brought an extra person out to help, he ended up being a thug and after an incident at our house, I nearly had to call the sheriff out to have him removed. (Later found out from owner he had trouble with this worker the prior weekend with another customer as well. Dangerous!) Then they over charged us for the move and we have talked to the owner at least a half dozen times trying to get the overcharged amount returned to us and we still do not have a check. It's been four months and their inconsiderate lack of effort to make things right is pathetic! read more

I had a wonderful experience with Edward and crew during a recent move. Typically with preferred vendors through a locator service they are hit or miss--with D Town Movers, I had a great experience. The crew arrived within the scheduled window time and made sure to add any padding/poly wrap to any items that may get damaged in transit. I was amazed by how quickly they got my things into the moving truck. They also made light work of dropping off my possessions at my new house. Edward made sure I was satisfied before leaving. The whole team was courteous and polite. Not only were they fast and professional, they are also very reasonably priced. Okay this was my first time using this moving company and they didn't start off in a good foot with me due to some miscommunication the day of the move. However, the owner Edward was very kind in trying to get the issue resolved and the movers were AWESOME! Justin has amazing customer service and his team was great and worked fast and professional! This review is for a move that happened on May 11th 2018. Personally I wouldn't recommend this company and am submitting this review with the reasons why below: Pros- Easy to book, friendly staff Mostly nice guys, hard working. Specific kudos to Enrique and Mario who were fantastic throughout the whole process. Did not cause damage to house we were moving out of Cons- Arrived late after having a guy call out (or there were technical difficulties, honestly they were very unclear about this and we didn't press for details) Didn't bring their own tape to use when padding furniture and used up all the tape we had bought to use to finish packing our boxes- this was highly frustrating as we had to leave to buy more tape. Complained about moving a treadmill when they had been advised previously of said treadmill and it's exact model. It is indeed heavy, but this is why we hired movers because we were aware we couldn't move it ourselves. They also couldn't move it into the room where it was needed and we ended up just doing this ourselves later. We had given them the square footage of the space we were moving out of and the space we would be moving into- they advised it would take probably about 4 hours with a 4 guy team. The move ended up taking 9 hours (that is not an exaggeration) Broke a desk after they had been advised of the best way to possibly move it. Disregarded this and attempted to move it without taking the hutch off, causing it to break when they lifted it to move it. The desk was broken beyond repair during the drive and had to be thrown away. There are a bunch of other smaller things I could list but, that would just be petty at this point. We chose this moving company because of their mostly great reviews and it was just a supreme letdown on top of costing us almost double what we had been projecting. read more

Let me preface this with saying I was unable to find my original positive review that I was asked to write to receive a discount on my move. Had I known what I know now, I would never have written that review. Let it be known that positive reviews are requested in exchange for discounts. It's been over a year since my move, and we found several things that their movers clearly didn't take the time to do it right. All three beds that were taken apart for the move did not have the slats screwed back in. One bed had broken slats and they didn't even bother to use the previous holes. Another beds box spring was damaged because the slats were not even supporting the bed and it fell through. Now that we finally know the slats weren't screwed in, we have to go out and buy new screws because they must have taken the screws with them- otherwise we would have wondered why there were so many extra screws. Additionally, we're finally finding out why our cold wash setting always caused colored clothes to bleed- they reversed the cold and hot pipes on the washing machine so cold wash was pure hot water. Also, we discovered they didn't fully connect the dryer tube which also explains the crazy amounts of dust and lint build up behind the dryer. It's unfortunate because the movers that showed up seemed to move fast and quickly. Now I know why they finished so fast- they cut corners on areas you wouldn't typically think about checking. read more
