My husband and I own a small car dealership. We sent 3 cars to be fixed for things that other…read moremechanics could have done in a few days. The first car we we're charge a ridiculous fee for labor for a problem that he didn't even fix claiming we told him we would have it done somewhere else. We paid him more than $400 to not have it fixed. Took it to another mechanic that charged us $200 to actually fix it! We continue to get the run around on a truck has been at true speed for over 2 months! We've already given John over $2000 for repairs that have not been done! We keep hearing excuses that they can't finish because they keep receiving the "wrong part". The 3rd car we made a huge mistake buy sending one of our customers to John. The original quote increased by more than $200 and was weeks later than promised. Our customers finally got it back today only to find out that one of the O2 sensors than was supposed to have been repaired hasn't been. We're having to take it to another mechanic again who says it will be about $275 and can have it in a few days. In the mean time we are lending them one of our cars for the second time because we feel so bad that they keep getting screwed over by John. We are just starting out and are barely making it ourselves. We lose money everyday that this truck is sitting at his shop not getting anything done. At this point all he has done is make things worse. It isn't drive-able and we can't afford to take it to another mechanic to have it fixed. We have to make huge payment to our bank every month- but John apparently doesn't care about his customers, deadlines or actually running his business. John is as crooked as they come! We are traveling through the area (staying two nights in Layton) on a family road trip. In our way…read morehere late afternoon yesterday, about 30 miles south of here, we heard a tapping/clicking noise coming from the front right tire area. Before we could pull off, we then heard a giant clunk and noise quieted down but didn't stop. Pulled over and found a giant hole in the front right fender (plastic directly in front of the tire). Found a local mechanic that was still open. He zip-tied things down (I mistakenly thought he only used one...) in a few minutes. There was a language barrier so I wanted to make sure I had it checked out by a highly reputable shop after we got into Layton. Found Shadetree and Ryan helped us out, inspecting the work. Said everything is good to go until we get home (about 1500 miles from now), even with potential rain. "Best possible outcome" he said and wouldn't accept any payment for his time down on the ground and talking with me. Wouldn't even accept beer money for his crew. Thank you, Ryan! The peace of mind you've given me and my family while on our vacation is so incredibly valuable.
