We just had breakfast at the D Road Cafe. This was the best experience I have had in a long time. We were greeted promptly and served coffee immediately. The food has Latin influences, but I had the omelette with cheese and spinach. My wife had the skillet. The owner/cook came out to make sure everything was good. On a quick overnight in Montgomery, my son found this gem for breakfast. The owner/manager was delighted to serve us at a cafe table outside as we were walking with our dog around the city. My son ordered the breakfast Arepa special and I ordered their omelette special. They brought us fresh pressed pineapple juice and terrific coffee as we awaited breakfast. They even brought the pup a bowl of water. The food was excellent. I highly recommend a meal here! The owner ran out as we walked back to our hotel, bidding us and the dog a farewell. What a find! This little Venezuelan cafe serves a breakfast that is an outstanding eating adventure. We were looking for breakfast within walking distance of the Renaissance and found D'Road Cafe almost by accident. Me and buddy decided to try this place out a couple of weeks ago and I'm glad we did. This place is by far the best service in town. The lady that owns it, Janet, is the sweetest and nicest lady. Her food was great and you can tell that it's made with some love. It's like being at Grandma's house, but your grandma is Venezuelan. I had the chicken that was in some sort of sauce and it was wonderful. I also had some carribbean rice which was unbelievable. I've never had that type of rice with peas in it, but it was great. The owner/ chef takes a lot of pride in her cooking! My mother and I came on a Monday night asking for a vegetarian entree and she told us to sit down and she would come up with a unique creation just for us.
