The place was very clean and friendly. They walk me when you come in. Great menu with options rolled ice cream drinks, Boba, milk, teas fruit, cheese, and lots of toppings.
Awesome find. Saw it on the street when my friends are getting smoothies so decided to give it a try. Did not disappoint! Parking is easy since it shares the outdoor lot with other stores; not too hard to see on the street. I tried their green tea ice cream. You get to pick a few items including fruits and toppings with your icecream and they make it in front of you. This feels like another version of ColdStone but you got to see it to experience it. It looks like their are making an "icecream crepe" on the stone top! The finished product also tastes amazing. The cashier/waitress was amazingly patient and explained everything to us since it was our first time getting it. Bravo! Will definitely come back to try other flavors. Keep up the good work Ice King!
This is a cute ice cream place and SUPER clean! The ice cream quality is great as well! It's very creamy and smooth and doesn't leave a "chalky" taste in my mouth if that makes sense. You pick a flavor, and then they "swirl" the ice cream on a board and you put toppings on afterwards! A pretty cool concept if you ask me. The presentation is so pretty and I couldn't help but take a picture of it :). This would be a great place to get dessert after a date or to go with family or friends. Can be a bit pricey however. But they do have military discount!
This place is awesome! Montgomery is definitely getting its share of great restaurants, but this is a gem. I'd much rather come here than Bruster's. Atmosphere: Very clean! It kind of reminds me of an asylum, though. Service: Each time I've come here the service has been okay. I haven't been wowed, but I don't walk out feeling unwelcome to come back. Ice cream: mmmmm! The quality of their ice cream explains the prices. It's very good and definitely exceeds the quality of Bruster's or some store bought ice cream. We got strawberry shortcake, butter pecan, and black humor. (In two trips). All were rave-worthy! Don't forget the toppings!! Would I recommend? Absolutely. Will I be back? I plan to be!
Tipped off about Ice King's Thai-style ice cream in Montgomery, I stopped by tonight. This delicious dessert is made to order in front of your eyes after you choose a "base" and then select three toppings. I chose the Fruit Passion base (a mixture of a vanilla base, blueberries, strawberries, and pineapple) with gummy bears, mango chunks, and a chocolate stick. It looked fantastic. There are five (!) rolls of ice cream in the cup and each bite outdoes the last one for flavor and variety. It was so cold and refreshing that from now on I am treating myself to a cup every week. Cleanliness is very important to me, and Ice King scored a 95. Also, the staff is super helpful.
Can I say amazing... I know it's a lil chilly and this is not the weather for ice cream but hey when it's this Goooood why not..... the young lady was very nice, especially listening to my corny jokes...
My husband and I were in the mood for ice cream and didn't feel like going to the usual (and limited) options here in town, so we decided to try out Ice King. Neither of us had ever had rolled ice cream before, so we were excited to try it. Ice King is in an old froyo store in a strip mall. They have a lot of different flavor combinations to choose from and they use a 2 step ordering system. Step 1 is choose your base ice cream and flavors. I ordered the Morning Latte, which had a coffee ice cream with chocolate syrup and graham crackers worked into it. Step 2 involves choosing 3 additional toppings. I ended up adding chocolate chips, whipped cream, and caramel syrup as my toppings. My husband ordered the peanut butter flavor bowl and added a KitKat, Oreo, and chocolate syrup as his toppings. The ice cream was good. The coffee ice cream reminded me of the Haagen Das coffee ice cream and the peanut butter bowl had peanut butter cookies crumbled into it which was great. Overall, it was a fun experience, but I do think part of that is because of the novelty of rolled ice cream. If you haven't had it before, you get kind of caught up in how cool it is. It's kind of expensive, however you do get a lot of ice cream. I would enjoy going back, especially if they add more options to their menu. My desire to go back IS because of its novelty, NOT because it's fantastic tasting. It's a fun experience, but don't go in expecting to have the world's greatest tasting ice cream.

I will say that it was very tasty but let's face it, it's ice cream! Most ice cream is! It's a bit over priced but I've been reading that most rolled ice cream places are. I guess that you're paying for the experience of watching them put it all together. Now that we've experienced it, I don't feel the need to do it again. So, if you've not ever experienced rolled ice cream, stop in! The service is top notch! The place is really clean, and they have a post-it note wall where you can leave any kind of note that you'd like. Overall, the service and ice cream were great, just a bit over priced. The whole build up to watching your ice cream being created, beaten and rolled was very entertaining. The ice cream was delicious I must say. No complaints from either of us. We will go back more often as the prices aren't that bad. Right around the same price for frozen yogurt. I also like how you can leave post-its around the store saying that you were there.

I got a #14 which is peanut butter water in vanilla base, and topped it with bananas, strawberries, and chocolate syrup. Yum! Perfect afternoon treat! I highly recommend trying this place out!
New ice cream spot in Montgomery,Al. Open late nights up to 10p which is pretty late compared to other stores. Have fresh fruit options. My daughter ordered the strawberry shortcake and I the Black Humor. The roll out ice cream is a nice change to the area. Prices are good and they offer a loyalty program. Will be back to check them out again.
Ice King is a great option for a frozen treat. The staff is friendly and it is cool to watch them create your ice cream. The ambiance is bright, but nothing fancy. They have two sizes. One with three ice cream rolls and one with five ice cream rolls. I went with the five rolls. Since I am a fan of peanut butter mixed with ice cream, I went with the Peanut Buddy. You add three toppings and I went with peanut M&M's, oreo cookie and whipped cream. I will say that it was very good. All in all, this was definitely a solid option for dessert. I will give it five stars overall for a great dessert experience. read more

a very cute and unique spot for a frozen treat! the ice cream isn't really creamy because of how it's rolled on a frozen plate, but it was yummy. i ordered my roll with "peanut butter sauce" thinking it was going to be rolled into the sauce but they just put a scoop of peanut butter on top lol. i probably won't get rolled ice cream again but it was fun to try. read more

Great ice cream! One of the employees made my boba the way he usually drinks it. I didn't want any sugar, but he suggested trying brown sugar. Since they didn't have a recipe for it, he made it himself--and it turned out really good! read more

This is my first time here. The store inside is clean and nice. Menu itself is easy to understand. You choose a flavor on the left chalkboard and three toppings from the right. Pay ahead then you can enjoy the process of how they make your ice cream! I had the butter pecan and my husband had the black humor. In the butter pecan, it's vanilla ice cream with almond and almond butter; in black humor is also vanilla ice cream with Oreo, brownie and chocolate syrup. They were both rich in taste and well-blended. It is a fun place to come by after dinner or just hangout with friends. read more

Really nice to have something new in Montgomery for a change. This location has seen a lot of places come and go, so I hope Ice King makes it. The novelty of Thai Icecream should keep people coming for quite a bit. They may need to work on their flavors and ingredient quality, just from what I've heard from other people I recommended it to. I ordered the Matcha Icecream with a KitKat and mango on top. I like you can get as many toppings as you want for free. I enjoyed the matcha, but I do understand it's apparently an acquired taste. I hope they fix up the location a little bit more, it definitely still looks like an old yogurt shop and there was a weird smell at the time. Because it's new, it may just need to get the kinks out. my experience at ice king was amazing! there were so many options for ice cream and toppings, plenty of different flavors for different tastebuds! the employees were friendly and kind to us! i absolutely loved the ice cream and was worried it would have a different flavor considering how it is made, but it tasted as delicious as the ice cream i'm used to always does! loved it and would love to come again! :) read more

When you come to ice cream expect a good but slightly different experience for an ice cream place. Pick out your flavor of ice cream and 3 free toppings. Pay at the cashier but keep your receipt handy as you will need to show it before they will give you your finished product. You have two choices while waiting for your ice cream. You may watch your ice cream being chopped up with all of its ingredients and put through a process to produce rolled and scrolled ice cream or make your way over to the counter with the sticky notes and post a note of wisdom for the world to see. The experience and process is unique but the finished product is delicious! read more

A very fun experience with the kids. They enjoyed watching their ice cream being made and garnished beautifully in real time. Little more pricey but it's not the regular ice cream joint. Definitely worth the craftsmanship and use of fresh ingredients. read more

This was my first experience with rolled ice cream and it was absolutely wonderful. I opted for the blueberry cheesecake, with fresh strawberries, peaches and blueberries. It was excellent- tasted exactly as I would have expected. Staff were super friendly and very customer service oriented. The wall of sticky notes was really unique as well and it was neat to see all of the different things people wrote. Will definitely be back! read more

I can't even! I love, love, love this place! I ordered the matcha ice cream with strawberries, blueberries, and whip cream. My husband ordered the Nutella ice cream with bananas, vanilla wafers, and whip cream. I tried his also and they were both delicious! The small is still a generous portion and they make the ice cream right in front of you which is a fun process to watch. The staff is friendly and the place was quiet. There are Post-It notes all over the wall with little messages from previous customers so if you are leaving the office and dropping in, grab a Post-It and show some love. Side note: It is located in a little shopping center so it could be easy to miss-don't overlook this hidden gem! read more
