We happened upon this restaurant. We saw the sign out front and decided to give tot a try. We were warmly greeted by the owner and told of the menu. We all settled on something different. We had crazy eggs, French toast, goulash and a shedders beef plate. Breakfast is always the same and lunch differs daily is what she told us. The food came out promptly was plated and made to order and it was divine!!! We also were given a complimentary dessert! We will be back. We felt right at home! Everything was amazing! Fantastic food! It's like having your mom cook for you (if you're Venezuelan). The restaurant itself is in a strip mall and not much to look although I don't know about you but the restaurants I have ever eaten at all focus on the good over the decor. This is no exception. I meant it when I said its like having your mom cook for you. The owner is the only one there except at breakfast. She is so personable and took excellent care of us. We had our kids with us and they really enjoyed themselves. My wife had the Pepito. I had a dish that wasn't on the menu. She made it special. It was delicious. Seasoned beef shredded and served on rice with two fried eggs (organic). My boys split the biggest burger they or I had ever seen. Seasoned beef, tomato, lettuce, onions, sauce, avocado and fried egg! Wow!! My daughter had arepas that were very tasty and she is picky. For dessert, we had the Drop in the Ocean. The kids devoured it. The owner is Venezuelan and the style of dinner is typical of the region. In other words, don't be in a rush. You will be there for awhile. I mean, your mom can only cook so much at one time! Ha ha!! Seriously though, the meal was great and extremely reasonable. In an area with a bunch of chain restaurants (Ho-hum) this is a real diamond in the rough! One final note...she takes credit cards but doesn't know how to add a tip so bring cash. We luckily had some on us or I would have gone to the ATM. It's that good!! read more

OVERPRICED!!! They don't list prices because there is no menu and then you pay $48 for fairly small portioned BASIC food for LUNCH for 2 people! I am utterly shocked. Had a great breakfast here in Montgomery! My boyfriend and I were passing through and stopped to get a bite at this quaint Venezuelan Cafe. We both shared the chicken empanadas and the omelet primavera. The food was delicious and the staff was so friendly and made sure everything turned out perfect. What a fantastic find!!! Yelp and Around Me had us concerned that there were limited options while passing through Montgomery. Minutes off I65, we arrived and knew we were someplace special. The place appears to run by three people who have a passion for cooking and pleasing their guests. I just love it when we stumble upon such a great gem! My husband had red snapper and I had a ribeye. Wow, just wow! The meal came with an amazing, unique and fresh salad and thoughtful sides. Every meal here ends with dessert so that was a total bonus! She comes to the table and explains what's fresh and why she picked the dishes that she's cooking that day. Some of the best, healthiest food I've ever tasted. Ms. Janet is EXTREMELY PASSIONATE about her food and she will make sure you are happy. She does not have a traditional menu. Her offerings depend on what she feels like preparing, seasonal items and what she finds when she does her shopping. Most everything she prepares in all natural. I recommend the paleo burger (all the way). I also have lunch there daily from her hot bar. Most people don't know this but you can buy a meal card (5 meals for $45 and 10 for $85) to save money. Way cheaper that buying that mail order crap and way faster than preparing it on your own. For breakfast, she loves to make omelettes. My recommendation here is to ask her to prepare it with whatever she feels like putting in there. You'll love it....trust me. read more

Awesome food - Janet is fantastic! Came in with a group of 14 and we're all made to feel at home for the whole experience. With no menu we weren't sure what to expect, but the three course feast was incredible. Salad to start, followed by a mountain of pulled pork, steak, chicken, yucca, and all sorts of other Venezuelan fare, followed by coffee and a chocolate/orange flan.
