Wish they opened earlier but good pho overall, employees aren't very attentive to tables

I was a regular here, but I just want to make sure everyone is aware of my recent experience. I really loved this place up until the last few visits, but this most recent one made me feel like I needed to say something. While adding chili oil to my soup, I noticed there was a fly in it. It must have been inside the chili oil container. Obviously gross, but I honestly wasn't planning on making a huge deal about it. What bothered me more was the response afterward. When I brought it to the waitress's attention, she repeatedly questioned whether it was actually a fly while continuing to inspect it over the soup. You could clearly see the wings and legs. Unfortunately, the experience kept getting worse from there the replacement order came back wrong, we never received the lemons we asked for, and my to-go order that was placed at the beginning was completely forgotten. I do want to say that the owner and the younger employee with the mullet who work there have always been AWESOME, and I truly believe the experience would have been handled differently if they had been there. However, the two female waitresses we dealt with definitely need more customer service training and better communication when handling situations like this. read more

The only basic pho in town beside noodles pho u. couple of my last visits to this place the food is not like it used to be the flavor in the pho is bland n lacks flavor. Ordered the sea pho n literally tasted just like hot water with absolutely no flavor very disappointed. The beef pho super bland n the shrimp fried rice was not even kid portion its the only option in LB but is not going to make it. Don't think of coming back. read more

Owner could throw more meat on their Pho for the price that they are selling it. San Jose is same price and more meat. Also what is up with the servers, twice already we ask for either egg rolls and spring rolls and we never receive it. One time it was the guy with business in the front and party in the back messed up mullet and second time it was the short Vietnamese worker. SMH read more

I am a regular weekly customer in the last couple of times when I order pho soup and I get home I am missing the jalapenos, limes, and mint instead I get lemons and some green weeds. What is going on? Are you running out of product are you cutting back? If this is the case I'm not going to come back only to be disappointed when I come home and find my pho soup is missing all these ingredients very disappointed. You should be upfront with the customer let the customer know that you do not have these ingredients instead of tying the bag and not letting them see it till they get home. This has happened over and over again so this is a continuing problem. I have also found a layer of lard at the top of my soup! read more

Hands down the best Pho spot in town! Found it after my disappointing experience with Noodles Pho U. Love their Pho and Banh Mi this place is an absolute 10/10 for me with great portions and flavor. You can't have it all and sometimes they do take a while and service isn't fully there, but i'm a big foodie and don't focus much on service. Love seeing this spot grow more and more. read more

D Pho is D-bomb! Came here a couple times with the SO for little pick-me-ups and to satisfy my everlasting pho cravings. Located off E Pacheco in the same plaza as Food4Less and Dollar Tree, D Pho does pho and a couple other non-soup options (bun, com, banh mi). I have ordered the pho dac biet both times I've come and have always left happy. The broth is a little heavier than other pho places, but nice and warms me from the inside out. The SO ordered their giant dino rib once and enjoyed it! Service is also great. At our most recent visit, we noticed the table's utensils were splattered with something and they immediately took it away to clean up. Water is also given without being asked. My only gripe is the accoutrement that usually comes with a bowl of pho does NOT include Thai basil (a personal preference)! read more

What a treat for those of us that crave pho, that two new pho spots open up within month of one another! My son and I came on a Wednesday around 3:30. This place is nestled in a large shopping center. So plenty of parking. Altho the shopping center is large, this place is not. A few tables and a counter with bar stool seating. As small as it is though the layout is very light, airy and welcoming. We were greeted immediately and prompted to sit wherever we liked. A gentleman came and handed us 2 menus and took our drink order. We decided on: 1. Beef combination pho with a side of beef rib. The beef combination came with flank steak (they ask if you want it well done or medium well), beef balls and tendon. Yessss, tendon! Brother was so delicious. So rich and soothing. The beef rib came in a separate bowl in a personal spa of its own broth. This broth was fatty and delicious. 2. Son ordered a beef ball pho with an extra side of beef balls. He was quiet for majority of the meal. Proof of his approval. 3. We also ordered egg rolls. Comes in an order of 3. Plate was garnished with lettuce leaves which I love because I roll my eggroll in lettuce. Warm sweet and sour sauce for dipping. On the table was spoons, chopsticks, oyster sauce, sriracha and what I think is their homemade chili oil. Beware that chili oil is hot..you've been warned..lol. Price point decent..same as pho in the Bay Area, but worth the money. We will be back. After all I have to give them their 5th and final star! read more

Finally got the chance to try this place! We got the spring rolls, they were perfectly crispy and delicious, pho had great flavor. We tried the #1 and #6, both delicious. The Vietnamese coffee was a bit of a flop, so I won't be getting that again. One star down for not having more options as pictured on their Yelp from the business pics, but hopefully those are coming soon and I'm keeping my fingers crossed for an addition of vermicelli bowls when it gets warmer. Also for the ridiculous music coming from next door which I'm not sure they can do much about, but maybe if they had some music going it could drown it out. The service was quick and the staff are all friendly and helpful. We will definitely be returning here. (Hopefully on a day the business next door is closed!) read more

Nice little restaurant. Customer service 4/5 Whenever I eat at a new pho restaurant, I judge the pho by the veggies, condiments they have on the table, the broth and cuts of meats they offer. I ordered a Pho Combo. It has everything I love in a bowl of Pho. Thinly sliced brisket, rare steak, tendon and meatballs. A small plate of veggies: bean sprouts, basil, jalapeño and lime and condiments: Sriracha, Hoisin, and Chili Oil. Im getting excited, they offer everything I love about Pho. Took a sip of the broth, it's good. I started dressing the bowl with all my likings. Took another sip, it just stayed good. SOOOO EXCITED THAT THEY FINALLY OPENED ANOTHER PHO PLACE HERE IN LOS BANOS! Me and boyfriend got the combination Pho and it was super good. It was a large size portion and I loved how it tasted. There was enough noodles and meat in it for me. We also got the shrimp egg rolls and those were really good as well, they pair well with the sauce they serve you. We will definitely be going back. They service was good (the young man and older gentleman were very accommodating) , the place was clean and is definitely family friendly. I will say that they didn't a lot of options for those of you who do like a lot of options, but they also just opened up. read more

I seldom give bad restaurant reviews, the reason for that is, I just would not review the restaurant, and let them have the benefit of the doubt. But, when a restaurant serves a meal that is just off the charts and, blatantly, looks like something that the cat brought in, then, I think of that old rhyme, 'It's time to come to the aide of the party.' Case in point . . . 'D Pho's Restaurant' in Los Banos. I ordered an advertised dinner, that looked just . . delectable. Unfortunately, I was not so lucky. Was it a fluke? Or, am I just rolling the dice, and playing an odds game here. Like, 4 out of every 5 meals, you'll hit a bad one. I should hope this restaurant's percentages would be better. Having tried the restaurant for the very first time, I certainly didn't have beginner's luck. Enticed by having looked at an advertising menu - which displayed vivid colors of tantalizing sizzling meat, bright looking healthy rice - accompanied by cucumber, and, a small salad, and, along with a savory appearance of fried egg, I actually found - when I was served - a very bland entreè. Boy, was I disappointed. And, of course, you shouldn't judge a book by its cover, but, disappointingly, the looks matched the taste. No fault of the cucumber, or, small salad, but, that's not what you're paying for. The meat was very dry and gristily. In fact, you could easily see the ridge lines of the gristle. How could the cook not see this? That is . . . it was a 'Cook,' that cooked this . . . right? The rice was also very dry as well. And, the fried egg? Well, it wasn't going to save the plate either. It certainly didn't look anywhere near the photograph. Come to think of it, it looked like the meal had been sitting around for a couple days, and was reheated. Or, maybe, I just got the 'model,' that had been on the display. If that was the case, they may redeem themselves, as this would be the exception, and, not the rule. I should hope - for their business's sake - that would be the case. To add fuel to the fire - so to speak - when I complained to the manager, he said he couldn't refund a payment. Would I go back? Probably not. And if I ever did, it certainly would not be without having tried many other restaurants. read more

Finally a pho place in town to go to!!! Decided to give it a go being its a new place and heard a lot of good reviews about it and in person talk from others. The inside of the place is small but that's ok, there are some pho places that are small so no big deal. Not too loud, place was clean and up to par. Menu is a bit small but their soup variety was good. My husband ordered the beef pho: Eye round steak, flank, well done brisket. He loved it, said it had a very good savory taste with a good amount of meat inside. I ordered chicken pho, only downfall was that they were out of chicken broth for the chicken pho so he had substitute it with beef broth. I was a Lil stepped away as I was not sure if I should try it like that given I've never had beef broth on chicken pho before . One of the customers who was eating had overheard my convo with the worker so she said, I tried it like that right now and it's pretty good n she never had it like that either...well after hearing her side I ended up being convinced so I told the server to go ahead and give me the beef broth with the chicken pho. Also I ordered the spring rolls with the shrimp, it was good as well. Comes with the peanut butter sauce to dip, was a bit liquified but it still had the peanut butter taste which was good. The chicken pho with the beef broth was pretty good surprisingly broth had a good savory taste, authentic. The amount of chicken served was good as well. We took ours to go so thus the reason I took the pics with the containers. Husband dug in his fast...lol sorry no pics of the beef pho. Overall, customer service was friendly. A young guy had helped us. Pho overall was very good, noodles and broth was just right. Giving it a 4 star due to fact that they ran out of chicken broth for the chicken pho. Was told that they run out through out the day. I've been to a lot of pho places and from experience it can get busy as well as chicken pho is one of the popular soups. Feel like it should always be in stock in all honesty. Totally understand it's a new business that just opened and is barely establishing in our town. Just an advice that I'm giving. We will be back again. Hope in the future u will have chicken broth in stock. read more

I moved to Los Banos a couple years ago from San Jose. This place is new and still figuring out their menu, so if you're looking for a beef pho with homemade broth and traditional Vietnamese flavors from south Vietnamese, this is the place to go. I've been here a handful of times and always gotten their pho when I'm lazy to make it myself. It's decent. Broth could be improved. It isn't the rich golden clear broth you get when you let it simmer for hours. In the beginning of my multiple visits they added a lot of onions and green onions and barely any cilantro. I'd prefer a perfect balance of the two. Also I wish they had different sizes to choose from when it comes to pho as well as a kids menu. read more

Enjoyed a meal for two this evening at this nice little pho restaurant. The service was friendly and attentive. The menu, while small, was not too different from similar places I have been to elsewhere. A couple of points to address regarding previous reviewers. 1) the spring rolls are not "crispy". It is egg rolls which get fried. The spring rolls were the expected large uncooked rolls with cooked shrimp and thin slices of beef as well as veggies accompanied by a peanut sauce. 2) yes they give you one plate of the basil/sprouts/jalapeño for two, but it was more than a sufficient amount for two people. The broth seems a bit clove centric, but balances well after the addition of a shot of siricha and hoisin sauces. We will definitely return for more. read more

This place was a disappointment. The broth was very greasy/ oily. The pho had little to no meat. The noddle portion was small. When we went they didn't have chicken, tendon, shrimp, and some other items. When they served our pho (we ordered 2) they only brought out one plate of veggies. I have been to so many pho places - they always bring out one plate of veggies per bowl of pho. They should have served us 2. We had to ask for more veggies for the two bowls. Their were so many people in the kitchen - only one person taking orders. She was nice but didn't attend to us much at all after we were served. The place was full, but it's very small so it's easy for it to get full. The place is clean but ambiance is very basic. I am so sad that this place wasn't better. We unfortunately won't be returning. We would have been repeat customers, but it's not worth the $$ for the portion size & taste. For the price and portion you are better off saving your pho craving for when you make your way to San Jose. read more

Wish I could say something nice but yea not going to happen! Very bland broth. Little too no meat. The limited menu was even more limited since they did not have anything avail but beef pho and spring rolls. No seafood chicken pho, no wings, not even sticky rice. And at 16 dollars for a bowl of mediocre pho I can't see this place lasting long. Service was just as bad as the food. 8 people in the kitchen but only one person was able to help customers.
