El Jefe Cat Lounge is three stories tall and full of adoptable cats and kittens! What I thought was really neat is that El Jefe was Tucson's first cat lounge and is named after the famous jaguar "El Jefe" that once roamed Southern Arizona. The lounge partners with local rescues, so every cat you meet is looking for a forever home. If you happen to fall in love with one (or five), you can even begin the adoption process! They've also have a café and gift shop inside for shopping and soaking up on the cat-themed atmosphere. They have everything from cat toys and journals to dish towels, keychains, cat ears, beanies, candles, and other fun cat-themed goodies. Each floor has its own little personality with climbing structures, cozy napping spots, and toys for the kitties to explore. Some cats wanted attention immediately, some were happily snoozing, and others gave me the classic "you may admire me from a respectful distance" look. Beyond regular lounge visits, they also host fun events like cat yoga, bingo, movie nights, crafts, and other themed activities. Whether you're looking to adopt, need a little serotonin boost, or simply want to spend an hour surrounded by adorable kitties, this is such a unique Tucson experience. Fair warning though... if you're a cat lover, don't be surprised if you leave with about 200 photos on your phone, a coffee in your hand, and a strong urge to adopt another furry friend.

They have pets such as ferrets, hamsters, fish and guinea pigs. It was fun to see them. My daughter found the kind of dog toys she wanted to get and I was glad to see they have wild bird food at a reasonable price as I have a bird feeder so got a bag. It was easy to browse with no-one bothering us and we covered the whole store. Though I no longer have house pets, I would shop here if I did.

I booked a grooming appointment with Gloria over 2 months out at 7am. I arrived to the store…read moreapproximately 10 minutes before 7am the store was dark no one was there. I waited in my car and eventually I noticed 2 employees entering the store. I got out of the car and waited outside to be let in, the manager opened the door and as I went towards the grooming area NO ONE was there except a young gentlemen that came in with the manager, I mentioned that I had an appointment at 7 am with Gloria and he said he just got there and didn't know what was going on so I went to the manager who told me Gloria just called in sick. so exactly what does that mean for me?? I got up at 6am for this AND your standards are if I don't make it in without canceling I am charged!!! the manager who has zero business being one, said he can't help and told me he was letting me out of the store, absolutely ZERO conflict resolution skills never took ownership of the situation and offered NOTHING. I am so angry. I called the corporate number and I will follow up with a letter to the corporate San Diego office (I have a home there as well) if this manager worked for me his services would no longer be needed period. you also don't just stroll into a store 5 minutes before you open!!! I will not be returning to this store or Petco. Unfortunately I have to see their name as I attend the Padres games on a regular basis. this store is definitely NOT where the pets go! I expect a credit of the amount of the grooming appointment I booked which was 120.00.
