It's owned and run by a Tunisian/Alsatian family and we were warmly treated by each member of it. The sons serve and the mother brings out the food. The father who opened the restaurant 40 years ago even came out to say hello. After all the other lukewarm hospitality at the other restaurants in the city, this place was like coming home. This is not to downplay the food--delicious appetizers, cous-cous, great wine (a bottle of red served too cold as I guess they do there, but we warmed it up) followed by a plate of sumptuous Mediterranean dessert pastries. The longer you knead the mixture, the better the texture will be. They have couple tables outside but I think its better as a takeaway! I would buy a box of cigkogte which comes with all the greens & lavash and make your own wrap. If you are in the mood to skip the typical falafal wrap and try something new go for it! As a side note- 'Cig Kofte' (CHEE' kuf-TAY') is classic Turkish-style steak tartar, is made with very high quality, fat-free beef that is minced and kneaded together with fine bulgur, pepper and tomato paste, onion, garlic and a mixture of Turkish spices. It's a regional dish from the southeastern part of Turkey with a lot of history behind it. BUT this is all vegetarian and today many Cigkoftes are made this way due to higher health awareness. You cant even tell the difference they are that good!
