Its delicious vegetarian turkish street food at its best in Strasbourg. We heard it from friends in the area and wanted to try it out since I am a big fan of turkish/Mediterranean food! So worth the visit!
I believe they have bulgur, onion, walnuts, garlic and lots and lots of different spiced mixed in this. The key is in the kneading. The longer you knead the mixture, the better the texture will be.
They have couple tables outside but I think its better as a takeaway! I would buy a box of cigkogte which comes with all the greens & lavash and make your own wrap.
If you are in the mood to skip the typical falafal wrap and try something new go for it!
As a side note- 'Cig Kofte' (CHEE' kuf-TAY') is classic Turkish-style steak tartar, is made with very high quality, fat-free beef that is minced and kneaded together with fine bulgur, pepper and tomato paste, onion, garlic and a mixture of Turkish spices. It's a regional dish from the southeastern part of Turkey with a lot of history behind it.
BUT this is all vegetarian and today many Cigkoftes are made this way due to higher health awareness. You cant even tell the difference they are that good! read more
