I have used ATN Movers three times in the last two years (2021, 2022, 2023). The first two times…read morewere for local moves within Northern Virginia, and the third time was for an interstate move (Virginia to New York). The first two moves were great -- it felt like my things were handled with care, and the movers worked efficiently. They charge an hourly rate but don't drag their feet to try to get you to pay more than you need to. Unfortunately, my most recent experience with them wasn't great. To their credit, they refunded ~13% of the cost of my move, but it doesn't feel like enough. Several of my belongings were damaged during my move. I had a dining table that was taken apart by the movers, and the table was apparently missing two screws. I was told that the person who took the table apart should've informed me of this (I wasn't informed). When the table was being put back together and I noticed the two screws that were missing, one of the movers insisted on using one of his own screws on the table after I had repeatedly asked if I should just ask the manufacturer for new screws. The screw ended up being too long, and went through my tabletop. Additionally, that same mover stepped on the bottom of my table with his shoe and left a shoe print... My bed frame ended up getting scratched, screws are missing, and a peg was very crooked after the move. My mattress also got black stains on it. Additionally, a bottle of my detergent spilled on several of my belongings, but the movers didn't inform me of this, and let me find out on my own. At least detergent can be washed out, but to just place my things in such a way that I wouldn't see the spills until turning things around annoyed me. I wouldn't make this particular complaint if all else went well, but the owner was also not the most responsive to my emails re: my recent move in the planning stage/before the move occurred. In some emails, I would ask him questions, only for the email to go completely unanswered. Also, the way the movers placed my boxes/furniture into my room was also horribly inefficient and made it very difficult for me to later move my things around and unpack. In the past I would've recommended ATN to others because of their affordability and care, but I can no longer recommend them after my experience with my interstate move. Edit to add: the owner's response to this review doesn't really add anything. I already mentioned in my review that they gave me a partial refund.

They arrived on site early and got the work done on time. The movers were courteous and hard working. They moved 70 sheets of 70lb per sheet drywall for us from the front driveway down to our basement in 2 hours without damaging a single sheet. We highly recommend VKH Movers. Thank you!

I wholeheartedly agree. Their website was easy to navigate and easier still to create a rough inventory of your belongings (take your time and confirm, room to room. Trust me: you own more than you think.) Once I'd submitted that Charlie reached out to me shortly after and was my point of contact throughout. I was able to make updates and adjustments up to the week of the move and even then I got 2 confirmations, one a day prior and one the morning of the move. A 4-man crew managed to move a 2-bedroom condo and a 4-bedroom condo into a single townhouse with a single truck, 1 trip between each location, and all in under 8 hours. Good men that busted their asses all day and earned every penny of their salary. TMM is not cheap but this is very much a case of quality work coming at an worthwhile rate; sometimes you need to pay more for the best service. You can certainly find less expensive movers but you would be hard-pressed to find movers of a higher quality. Book sooner than later, feed your movers, tip your movers.

Somehow, my friends, who are not professional movers, didn't need to do this. But the professional movers did? And didn't put it back? - were not former Marines or US military. And this one might be the biggest deal to me. Don't advertise that you nearly exclusively hire former military and veterans, then send me an entire team of none. As the daughter of a Marine, I I consider this to be on the level of stolen valor; you're exploiting the veteran status when all you did was hire people off the street. - the management and customer service team won't return my emails or phone calls. Today I'll be calling the Spotsylvania County Better Business Bureau as well as the Fairfax County Better Business Bureau to figure out log a complaint. If you can't complete the business transaction, you shouldn't be allowed to do business.

I have recommended it to friends who also did as well However I was recently scarred by my move on July 5th. I understand this was a holiday weekend but I texted the Wednesday before to confirm. And they said all was set for 9am Saturday July 5th. It's 9am Saturday and no one's there. I'm texting and calling. No one responds until 10. They tell me they're coming at 11. 11 comes around. No ones there. I text and call and no response. I use a friend's phone number and they respond finally at 12. Say they're still coming. 2 pm comes around no one's there. I spent my whole morning just waiting. I try to call or text to cancel and there's still no response. No one's comes at all and they won't confirm that they're not coming or that they're still coming. They won't respond to any texts or calls at all. I end up having to book a last minute mover for a way higher price due to this. I decide to text and call them a few days later to let them know my dissatisfaction. They still won't respond to me.
