Brisket, ribs, potato salad, Mac n cheese
Skye A.

This BBQ was insanely good! I got the brisket (he threw in some burnt ends which were to die for), ribs, potato salad and Mac n cheese. You can choose what level heat you want your sauce to have- I chose medium and it had a pretty good kick with tons of flavor. The ribs were melt in your mouth, and the rub on the meats was next level. The Mac and cheese was Smokey and delicious, and the potato salad was a great compliment to all the rich flavors because there was a nice hint of fresh onion, and the tiniest hint of vinegar which balanced out the whole plate. This food tasted of love and passion and there was no lack of attention to detail on this plate. It's not only the best BBQ on this island, but I'd be hard pressed to think of anywhere better... And I've eaten some damn good BBQ all over the south!

BBQ Meat Combo

My mother, boyfriend, and I visited D Greens BBQ a few days ago since another yelp review recommended and WOW we are so grateful we did!! We wanted to try everything so we ordered the combo boxes. The meats were SO fresh and perfectly sauced and the potato salad was crunchy and flavorful that is definitely a must try when visiting! If you had to choose one meat option let it be the pineapple sausage... it was amazing perfect blend of sweet and savory! We enjoyed it so much we had to order another combo box to-go for the family to try. We can't wait to come back on our next Kauai visit! The owner, D is so friendly and kind, overall a wonderful experience.

Aloha Yelpies !!! You've been all over the island and tried all sorts of want to be BBQ and wasn't impressed... Right !! I too thought this was it then my wife and I stopped over here to find really great food. The BBQ brisket is off the hook with the medium spice bbq sauce. Then top it off with some slaw and Mac n Cheese you have the perfect lunch or dinner. The owner doesn't hold back on the portion size and puts a ton of pride into shopping for the best quality food for the customer. Be on the lookout for his sauces in the stores ....

D-Green is the man when it comes to authentic BBQ on the island! The ribs had a great smoke ring and a fantastic taste! The chicken was outstanding. It had a great smokey but overbearing flavor. OMG, the BBQ sauce was so flavorful! I had to order some for the house! Bay Area guy making us proud...

I got the brisket platter and he threw in some burnt ends also. My goodness! It was all so delicious! It was insanely moist, full of flavor, and so tender! My hubby got the rib platter and the meat was falling right off the bones as you tried to pick them up! My only complaint would be that I'm a purest and prefer my brisket not sauced. I assumed it would be on the side but it was all over it. I'm sure you could ask for it on the side but I just didn't think to say so ahead of time. Still probably the best brisket and burnt ends I've ever had and we have gone to BBQ joints all over the southern states in the mainland.

Ribs and potatoe salad

The service was great here. The worker was super kind and funny too! Food was really good. Ribs and the pulled pork were tastesy and flavorful. We also liked the potatoe salad as well. My dad also enjoyed the coleslaw and there were outdoor seating to sit and eat. In a Old historic Koloa Town, definitely recommend

Burnt Ends, Ribs and Brisket w Mac n Cheese

The guy running the joint is very friendly and a good sense of humor. I agree with his prices and appreciate that they are low when he could charge much higher. The ribs were huge and had tons of flavor and moisture, the brisket was great and the burnt ends even better. I really liked the spicy bbq sauce. Good stuff

Pulled Pork

Tbh the bbq is not very good. It's not horrible but I wouldn't say it's any special or even tasty if you've ever had bbq in the mainland before. The hot link and the pineapple sausage both need more fillings because they are too soft and soggy right now. The bbq ribs and briskets need more rubbing for flavor and tenderness. The pulled pork is fine but that's all I can say. Overall if you don't have high expectations or expect anything Hawaiian then it's a passable meal.

CLOSED!?

not a good first impression...not open! They do not post any updated opening days/times on FB. Stopped by today Sunday just before 12noon and they are closed! Online it states only open sat & sun 11-6pm.

Delicious brisket and pulled pork (had both with the mild sauce)! Good potato salad, too.

Absolute gem of the food truck!…read more It will take some time to get your food as they only have one or two people taking orders and cooking. But it is well worth the wait! I ordered the vegetarian option and was blown away by the flavor. Also, do not miss the elote! Seating is limited to two small tables. But people vacate as soon as they're done eating and we did not have any problem finding a seat. Highly recommend this place!

We parked on the dirt next to the skincare clinic--make sure to be past their sign/not inside the clinic's parking lot. Taco Libre is located in a lot with other food trucks, including Aloha Always which has the best açaí bowls. The lady working at the truck was super sweet and friendly, she recommended half al pastor and half carne asada for the burritos, and they did not miss! The tortilla had a beautiful grill on them but still soft, the cheese inside the burrito was ooey gooey and the meat was moist and flavorful with no fatty/chewy bits. The burrito was a great size and served with side of rice and beans. Both their red sauce and green sauces were delicious, I didn't find them spicy but some might. They also had pickled red onions and pickled jalapeños by the sauces and they were a tasty addition to our meal. Plenty of seating available all around the lot, Taco Libre has its own family style seating right next to their truck. We can't wait to come back and try more dishes from this food truck! Don't forget to ring the bell if you liked the food! :D

The chicken skewers were also good, lots of flavor but seemed a little dry without the peanut dipping sauce. My In laws liked the pad Thai but mentioned they wish it came with more shrimp. The tapioca pudding with coconut milk was really good and refreshing after a long day in the sun. The wait time was only about 15-20 minutes and there were a few picnic tables outside to sit at and wait for our food. The lady at the window was very nice!

A Hole in the wall called "Da crack" with a painting over the window of a dude playing a guitar…read moresitting with his back toward you, and the crack of his butt showing might be a bit off putting and pretty hilarious! Although you may miss this place as you drive by because it literally is a hole in the wall of a little strip mall of sorts you have to look for it. But as that description goes, typically the food found in a "hole in the wall" it is usually very delicious and they did not disappoint! The lady who took our orders was very friendly. I let her know that I was gluten-free which they were able to accommodate. We have the taco bowl or burrito bowl or a "bowl" as it's listed. You first choose burrito, bowl, or tacos, then choose your meat, which is ground beef, chicken, Carne Asada, fish, which happened to be shark today. Then you choose if you want sour cream and cheese, etc., guacamole, then choose Mexican, brown, or regular rice and then what type of beans, black or pinto. Then you choose your sauce, jalapeño mild up to very hot and then pico de gallo. Then you can choose your jarritos drink or the one canned guava drink. You get a size nice portion in a paper bowl covered with foil and it is delicious & seasoned to perfection. So they did not disappoint! Parking is tight to be mindful of those backing out. Will return before leaving Kauai.

I ordered the chicken burrito and my fiancé ordered the burrito bowl with fish. The bowl was served in one of those tiny Dixie paper bowls..for $17! He ate it all and was still hungry. My burrito had way more food than his bowl. Unfortunately their Mexican rice is really not it...the grains of rice are huge and flavorless. The only thing that saved my burrito was the shredded chicken. It was moist and flavorful, and they didn't skimp on the amount they put in the burrito which I truly appreciate since taking any bite without the meat was super bland. No seating available, this is all to go style. Parking is easy since there's a parking lot right in front. It's easy to locate and is situated next to a small grocery store. I recommend you go grab some banana bread from the grocery store for dessert, you won't regret it. All in all, I think there is better Mexican food on Kaua'i for the same price or less.
