Had two pork and vegetable egg rolls fit $5 / a seriously good bargain for Kauai pricing. They were very well cooked and she offered multiple dipping sauces with chips at the pickup station. Many other tasty and value priced items on the menu that were would have tried if several of us had ordered from here. Very pleasant server. There is no covered seating so if it is sprinkling you will get wet. read more

Loved it. Stoped here on a whim while passing time in town. We enjoyed the menu being a daily updated thing so we know everything is freshly made. The portion was super generous and enough to split. read more

I'm not a huge fan of food trucks. I always wonder where do they go to the bathroom in there all day? But, you want some homemade fast food to go, there's a bunch of them parked in Koloa town. I trie Dim 'N' Den Sum's popular combo plate: gyoza, shumai, coconut shrimp, pork bun, egg roll, and potato mac salad ($14). Everything was tasty, and I enjoyed it. I rarely eat deep-fried food from a truck, but it was only slightly heartburn inducing, so four stars. read more

The food truck attendant is super friendly and tells us service is slower but food is made fresh everytime. Worth the wait - everything was hot and fresh and tasted amazing. Ambiance was adorable - chickens running around at a park area with picnic tables and lots of grass areas. I would say the coconut shrimp was a highlight of my day! 10/10 read more

This food truck off of Koloa (along with a congregation of food trucks nearby) was a cool find just 5 minutes from our hotel at Koloa Landing! And with a Dim Sum Deluxe pack with all the menu's offerings for just $15, the price point ain't bad either! It was a perfect shareable plate with my SO. The lady working the truck kindly cut the 1 egg roll in half for us, and we ordered a second steamed manapua (porkbun) so we each could have one. We enjoyed all the food, and struck the gong on the exterior of the truck afterwards to signal our enjoyment! Also nearby is an unbelievably large banyan tree (pictured), a congregation of chickens, and a little bit of history: the Old Sugar Mill, and memorial to those who worked the mill. Definitely worth checking out! read more

Hands down, one of the best food trucks in Kauai! So good, we had to visit the food truck again before leaving the island. The owners were super nice and tentative. Food came out quick and steaming hot. The quality of the food, you can tell it's made from scratch and not frozen. We ordered the Dim Sum Pack and everything on the plate was amazing. The plate came with 2 pcs. Steamed shumai, 2 pcs. Fried lumpia, 2 pcs. Fried chicken gyoza, 1 steamed manapua. Customer service: 10/10. Food: 10/10 read more

A very modern restaurant with very cool decor. The soup dumplings were just okay, the noodle wrapper was too thick but the filing was ample and there was a decent amount of soup. The fried rice was less than average. Not a lot of flavor. Our server was very attentive and stopped by often to make sure that we were taken care of. read more

Oxymoron: Kauai and Dim Sum. How about Dim sum food truck in Kauai? Open 11am-3pm, or earlier if they run out of food. Menu changes every day. Ordered the $10 Dim Sum Pack. Ready in about 7 minutes. Comes on a paper plate covered with aluminum foil. The 2 pork shumai came with maximum meat, under a tightly wrapped won ton skin, but not too much flavor until you put soy sauce on it. The char-siu pork manapua was oversized with dough, but had a decent pork filling taste, definitely on the sweet side. The 2 shanghai lumpia was almost too thin to see the meat inside, and had too much outer covering for the amount of meat inside. The 2 shrimp tempura were fine, a bit dry as to be expected, and went well with the sweet chili dipping sauce The 2 pork gyoza was also a bit dry, and on the small side, but tasty. Disappointed that they have no pork belly bao today. Best dim sum in Kauai? Yes, but only because it is the only dim sum in Kauai. read more

I was recommended this food truck from a local I met in Waikiki. She said this food truck had the best dishes. She was right! We ordered the dim sum pack, the furikake fries, and the mahi sandwich. The dim sum pack was very tasty. It includes har gow, a char siu bao, fried potstickers, ebi fry panko shrimp, and spam fried rice. All of the food we ordered was delicious. If you order the mahi sandwich, I highly recommend ordering it with avocado. The furikake fries were nice and crispy, and the sauce was a perfect balance. The furikake gave it a nice umami flavor. The owner is so kind and friendly! Please be kind to her and say hello. She also provides you with a wide selection of sauces for your food. We were able to eat our food at some park benches by the truck. It was a nice shaded area, shared with a few other trucks. Enjoy the nice scenery while you have your meal! read more

Located in a park with multiple other food trucks, but only half were open on a Monday. I wanted something different than the norm so I chose Dim n Dem Sum. Met all my expectations for a satisfying lunch. I chose the shumai stick (3 steamed pork dumplings topped w/wasabi aioli and green onions) and eggrolls (pork and vegetables). I was worried that the wasabi aioli might be very spicy but it was very mild. Everything was flavorful and filling. Service was a one-woman show and she handled it! She had my food out faster than the truck my husband ordered from. The area is surrounded by lots of tables, plenty of shade and so many hens and their chicks. Great service and terrific sampler platter with Manapua. 2 pieces of Shumai, 2 Coconut Shrimp, 2 Gyoza and really good Fried Rice. Very reasonable at $12. You can add an egg roll for $2 but they had sold out. This is a great spot for lunch with 5 or 6 food trucks although some have fairly limited days. Highly recommend. read more

One of the best things I ate on my recent trip to Kauai was a tempura fried spam musubi from this "food truck" (it seems like it's stationary in a food truck park of other like-minded eateries). It was one of the specials of the day and we couldn't resist, and it didn't disappoint! We also got a sampler platter that had a little bit of everything, and it was all good! No complaints, and great service! The location is a neat little spot too, right in the heart of Koloa town. I'd definitely go back next time I'm on the island! read more

Yoshi is amazing. He catered my family and friends of 50 people and not only did he not disappoint, he blew everyone away with the quality of taste, freshness and not to mention incredible hospitable service. Only thing I wish I had done differently was order more pork belly bao!!! We had poke, kenji burgers, ginger fried chicken, coconut shrimp, short ribs, chicken katsu and more. This is my fifth time eating from Yoshi and Dim n Den Sum and definitely won't be the last time. In my opinion, it is too hyped up. Also, very sporadic hours. Last year, we came a few times and even though Yelp and online it said they are open, they were closed. Great food, super unfriendly service. The Dim Sum Pack lets you experience a little bit of everything. The egg rolls are good too, nice and crispy. They also offer lots of dipping sauce options. This is not just the best food truck in Kauai, it's our favorite food on the island. With incredibly affordable prices and an amazing quantity of food for your buck, we walked away from our meal amazed. We got the Dim Sum Pack and the shumai were a real standout for me- they contained the most amount of meat I've ever seen packed in a tiny package and were incredibly flavorful. The gyoza and pork bun were equally divine and you cannot go wrong with a SIDE of ahi poke (spicy and savory- but not too spicy) and Singaporean noodles. I'm really not speaking in hyperbole here, this place is a gem! Side note: I also reached out via DM on instagram to the business page, and the owner was absolutely incredible- answered my question about merchandise (and even dropped my shirts off to my hotel since the truck was closed), and we've kept in touch through the rest of my trip giving food recommendations and making sure we're having a great trip. She cares about the locals and the visitors and I can't say enough about this business! read more

Dim 'N' Den Sum - Dim Sum pack - Food Trucks Near Me - Koloa, Hawaii

With decent food and great character, Dim N Den Sum is a neat local spot. I was somewhat underwhelmed by the food, but I know this had a lot to do with what I ordered. I chose the soft shell crab sandwich, which came deep-fried with tartar sauce and your standard lettuce, tomato, and bun. While the crab was well-fried, it tasted much fishier than I would have liked and felt quite greasy. The somen salad came as a sizable box of wheat noodles, chopped lettuce, carrots, and a small container of sesame-soy sauce. The idea is to drizzle the sauce over it and mix it all together (along with some generous squirts of Sriracha sauce, if you dare). It was a refreshing complement to my sandwich, but I felt it was somewhat steeply priced at $8. On a happy note, the sandwich came with a serving of spicy fries that were fantastic. The woman at the window was as friendly as can be and readily accepted the Yelp check-in deal for a free soft drink (water, canned fruit juice, aloe drink, or cold green tea). While waiting to order, I met another couple that felt equally disappointed because they'd tried the truck's tempura sushi roll last time and came back to have it again, only to find that it wasn't available. The menu changes regularly here, so it seems that there are some gems that we didn't get to try this time around. read more

We had chicken katsu, gyoza, and furikake fries. All excellent, went back for more fries 2 days later, and will be back again.

We came here as part of a food tour. We had the char Siu nap. The chef made a special tempura shrimp boa for me since I don't eat red meat. I don't usually like the rice buns since they're too chewy but these were so good- light and scrumptious. My husband thought the char Siu was the best dish on the food tour, the tempura shrimp was good too. Would definite recommend if you're visiting Kauai. The chef also told us a story about his adventures working as a sushi chef and then also at a gelato place: Red Salt. Really great personality with some great food ideas. read more

Dim 'N' Den Sum catered our private post-wedding thank you beach event and they were amazing, start to finish. The food was exceptional: fresh, beautifully presented, and, most importantly, delicious! Our guests said it was the best poke they'd had on the island (and by this time, our guests had had at least two other kinds at our other previous events). My brother-in-law, a poke aficionado, got poke every single day of his eight-day stay and he said Dim 'N' Dem Sum was the best. He also said the poke on the island compared to mainland is far superior. They were very professional, responsive, and flexible during the initial stages when we were getting quotes. We reached out to MANY MANY food trucks and poke places to try to get catering, and communication with most was unfortunately unprofessional, disorganized, or non-existent. Dim 'N' Dem Sum offered exactly what we wanted. We wanted our guests to be able to have an authentic Hawaiian Food Truck experience and they came through 100%. Until Dim 'N' Dem Sum, it seemed like maybe we could get people to deliver giant platters of poke, OR, simply prepare it and we'd have to transport it and present it ourselves. Those who could deliver pretty much could not offer staffing to serve. And maybe a couple others who could potentially offer the food truck experience said they'd be open to the public as well and/or the cost would have been exorbitant. Dim 'N' Dem Sum customized a simple menu to be what we envisioned but better (poke and musubi with choice of Hawaiian macaroni salad side), they helped with the permit process, and when we were unable to schedule a dessert vendor (due to permit limitations), they suggested another Hawaiian sweet treat, did the research and communication on their own and effectively helped me out by removing that as another worry and task on my already overflowing bride plate, and provided those for us even though it wasn't something they usually offer. Before they left, they made sure we were satisfied, helped tidy up, and left us with extra food that hadn't been eaten. When I had a moment to really connect with them, they offered some tips about local beaches and eateries and I really appreciated that. Yoshi and Lynell with Dim 'N' Dem Sum are among the top vendors we worked with and that's due to their responsiveness, professionalism, service, pleasantness and kindness. Thank you, Dim 'N' Dem Sum for being an awesome part of our wedding!! (Due to being busy and preoccupied with our guests, we didn't get many pics, which I now regret, but that's the nature of getting married I guess). read more
