Went last night in a double date. Vibe was great. Music was fantastic,especially the singer and her interactive nature of getting the patrons involved. The food as also good, but our table placed an order of calamari. It came and while the table was eating we noticed a hair in it. We sent it back with the understanding that same would be removed from the bill. We continued enjoying our night. When the bill came, which was over $500, the calamari($17) had not been removed. The waitress said that too much of the calamari had been eaten before we noticed the hair. In all fairness we were close to 1/2 finished when the hair was discovered. We asked for the manager and her took the dish off of our bill. We thought the issue was done, it was not. Out of left field, a member of the 'security' staff came to our table and threatened us with violence and arrest while claiming to be a police officer. It is still unclear what upset him. No one from our table had spoken with him prior. It was such a scene that he made, we decided that it was time to leave. The security person continued and went to the manager to continue. As we were leaving, I asked the manager what the problem was and the security person was still going. He was clearly unhinged and in need of medication. We will never return to this place even though we were having a good time and spent a significant amount of money there. The hair and other mistakes/miscues by the waitress were not even an issue. The treatment from the member of the security staff who should have no interaction with customers was uncalled for and shows a lack of judgement on the manager for poor hiring practices. It also showed the managers lack of control of his employees. Is they how they normally operate? I can't say. We will never know as we will not return. Oddly enough my wife and I during dinner, discussed this restaurant as a possible location for our daughter's 18th birthday dinner later this month. Nope. read more

I attended a family birthday dinner here, and this D'Carbon location definitely stands out. They have live entertainment, which adds a fun vibe--just know it can get a little loud if you're trying to have long conversations. Still, the music is great and really sets the mood. The food was solid Peruvian, very close to authentic with a bit of fusion flair. Everything was well executed, and the service was on point. The servers were constantly checking in, which I appreciated. We ordered a variety of dishes: * Lomo Saltado - Stir-fried sirloin with onions and tomatoes, served over fries and white rice. * Lomo Saltado Montado - Same dish, plus a fried egg on top. * Causa de Camarón - Mashed potatoes layered with shrimp. * Tallarín Verde con Bistec - Al dente spaghetti in a spinach-basil sauce, similar to pesto but with a distinct Peruvian twist. We also tried the Chilcanera Sampler, a flight of three large drinks: Maracuyá (passion fruit), Coco, and Frambuesa (raspberry). All delicious. And of course, we had to try their signature Bulldog D'Carbon, a margarita-style drink with lime, Patrón, vodka, and Grand Marnier. The food is good and it can definitely be shared. They have Karaoke on Friday and a dJ on the lower level. The drinks were good. The service was good they accommodated a table of 25 for us. The upper level we had absolutely no issues with our dinner or with our bill. They did tell us we couldn't split the bill - we wanted 4 for our table of 25. Which of course they wanted to charge us the extra fees. They added the 22% gratuity and a service fee on top of that which was like 4%. We paid -- no issues there. My only complaint is that while We were downstairs in the club area the "bottle girls" kept trying to push us to pay as a group so they can could obviously make more in tip. They added the gratuity to the billl on our table of 4. whether you like it or not which is fine - but they don't even pay attention to you and they want the full 22%. We had to at one point get up and ask the bartender to help us because the bottle girls wouldn't bring us the bill or our drinks. I'll gladly tip- but damn at least service the table lol read more

I'm extremely disappointed with the lack of accessibility at this restaurant. We came here on April 2, 2026 for a birthday dinner with a 15-year-old family member who has muscular dystrophy and uses a wheelchair. When we arrived, we realized there were only stairs and no ramp or accessible entrance, making it impossible for him to get inside. His wheelchair weighs over 120 pounds and he is unable to lift it himself, so this wasn't a minor inconvenience -- it meant he was completely excluded from the experience. What made this even more upsetting is that we had to leave and find another restaurant, which caused him to feel guilty for something entirely out of his control. No one, especially a child, should be made to feel that way simply for trying to go out to dinner. There is also a designated handicap parking space directly in front, yet no accessible way to actually enter the building, which is incredibly misleading. No accommodations or alternatives were offered by staff. Accessibility is not optional. I strongly urge the restaurant to address this immediately so this does not happen to another family. read more

However once we brought it to someone's attention everything went smoothly! For this night there was a singer and it made this place a good night out! I will start with yes it's very pricey especially when there are a ton of other Peruvian restaurants that will likely be less expensive however for the experience it's okay. They do charge tip automatically which they do at other locations of this specific chain as well. Service is okay. Seems slow on busy days. Good thing their menu is on the iPad because you can make a wishlist and use that to order with since it was super loud the night we went. Great live singer. My lychee martini was amazing but again pricey. Food was good. My fave is the rotisserie chicken because it is flavorful. Lomo supremo is okay. Needs more flavor but their green sauce helps. First time visiting this incredible hidden gem in Hawthorne, NJ. The drink menu had great cocktails, beer, wines, and much more. The food was DELICIOUS! They truly have something for everyone. I can't wait to visit again and try more things. This establishment has 2 floors. The upstairs area is more of dinner vibes often with live music and brighter ambience. We came with a couple friends and the music was so loud my Apple Watch warned me I'm in a loud environment. Also do not come here if you have any allergies. They have no knowledge on gluten intolerances and I ended up getting glutened. Their fries have flour and so does their rice so I opted out. All I had was a half chicken, plantains, and the most bland side salad I've ever set my eyes on and somehow came home sick. I love Peruvian food and couldn't wait to give this restaurant a try. When I arrived I parked in the private lot. I walked in, and the restaurant was super cute. They had beautiful paintings upstairs and downstairs. We were greeted and sat at a booth. Our server was Isaura, and she was awesome. We started with some cocktails and I really enjoyed the sangria. I once saw him park a car, get down and slam the drivers door. I understand that parking is tight and they are trying to fit as many cars. Today I noticed my car was scratched. Waitress literally abandoned our table after taking our order. Needed some sort of sauce to go with the dry chicken, but by the time we flagged her down, we were already full. Ambience is great. However food is subpar. You would think since the prices are outrageous it would compensate, but it doesn't at all. Service also subpar, since the 18% gratuity is already included, it makes sense why the waiters don't actually wait on you, we have no napkins, never asked if we were ok, but r needed something to drink. The piscos were ALL foam . The lady who brought the food out, legit throw our plates on the table. The lounge downstairs is alright, we went down there after our dinner. We sat at the bar (we were the only ones sitting at the bar) took 25 mins for our flight of drinks to come, n they came horribly put together. They must have an issue with napkins because everyone was really cheap about them. Overall, I'd say go there if you want to hit the lounge up after 9pm. Just for some drinks or pregame then go here. But don't plan a whole date here. No worth it. I'm Peruvian and know good Peruvian places WAY cheaper and better hospitality. To put it plain n simple, this places was disappointing. read more

It's unfortunate that I have to give this review, but last Sunday I made a reservation for my mother for her birthday for the following the following week. I was told that I needed to pay a deposit around $100-$200 (Which Sounded quite odd, but I was going to do it anyway). I called about four days later, as I never received any response back in regards to the deposit, and was told I no longer have a reservation as they no longer take them for Saturdays. If that's the case, why on earth, would you even bother taking my reservation in the first place? After speaking to the manager, she flat out says that she won't do anything about it. The answer was absolutely no. My advice to this place, Take care of your customers. Thank you for ruining my mother's birthday. I had words with the manager regarding my bill. When we got our bill for a table of 6, it included two gratuities. One for 18% and the other for 21%. I happened to check on the bill otherwise it would have been over $65 on just gratuity. I obviously thought the waitress was confused. I called the waitress (which is another problem in this place, good luck on your waitress or waiter coming in to check on you, you are constantly looking for them because they are no where to be found) and when she finally came over she was very annoyed that I pointed that out. She went and had the bill updated but she updated it with the 21% gratuity! I inquired why and she just said it's policy. I asked for the manager and she said to just look at the menu because it tells you that's 21% is correct. Still no manager. We all pulled up the menu and nowhere did it say 21%. However there is a spot that says "you may be charge a MINIMUM of 18%". You would never experience that in any upscale restaurant here in Jersey! They have their fancy little iPads and valet parking and birthday shout outs with the way they are robbing people. Please please there are other authentic Peruvian places that are absolutely lovely and the service and attention is beyond pleasurable. It really bothers me when places like this try everywhere to get your money. The food IS NOT AMAZING. The he food is OK. It's chain Peruvian food. read more
