The Thanksgiving Toasted is arguably their best sandwich. Too bad that they don't have more locations in New Haven County. Ric was the manager today & was super friendly taking my order. Staff had my sandwich ready in just a few mins. Always love coming back to a D'angelos. The restroom unfortunately was a little bit of an unkempt disaster & could have been cleaned better. The No. 9 steak sandwich is very good here. It's comes on a soft, warm roll and lots and lots of steak with grilled onions, sauteed mushrooms, peppers, and American cheese. It's $6.99 for a regular. Both of us ate the No. 9 and it was piping hot and delicious with every bite! I'd definitely recommend this sandwich. I was in the area and decided to stop in at 9pm on a Wednesday. I'll be honest reading recent reviews I was concerned, but those were quickly put to bed. Overall this establishment was very clean, service was excellent and both orders we got were exactly as they should have been. We took ours to go and had about a 30 min drive and got stuck I traffic, but once we got to eat our sandwiches they were still warm and delicious. I would come here again. read more

Stick with what they are known for: the Steak #9. That has never done me wrong. The last couple times I visited, the menu items have tempted me to try something new. From the time I walked in, I started to stick too the floor. This has the potential too be a nice restaurant, if cleaned and couple other things. Went too the ladies room and the toilet flushes on its own, every 20 seconds. That's a waste of water. I got the lobster roll. The roll was half empty and burnt on one side. First time trying D'Angelo's. I ordered the large steak bomb. It comes with grilled steak, salami, capicola, onions, peppers, mushrooms, and cheese. Large is $9, but it's a decent size. After turning down annoying up selling by the cashier/manager of double the meat and chips I was glad I did because it was just the right amount of food. Sometimes they will bring it to your table if you eat in, and sometimes they call your name and you go up and get your food. They should be more consistent with that. It was a bad ass sandwich. Came out piping hot and I devoured the whole thing. It filled me up and I'm basically an amateur competitive eater. Place looked clean and the service was friendly. I ordered my food over the phone. It wasn't too pleasant from start but continued with order anyway. I heard the recorded message while you wait for a CSR to pick up, going on about how they are smiling behind the mask. I get in there and the boss has to continue to tell one girl to stay in her station. He also tells her to get me napkins when I asked but she just walked away. Another person asked as well.
