My review/rating is based on what I witnessed/experienced with D & S Towing. I understand D & S Towing has a job to tow vehicles but need to take more precautions with their surroundings in neighborhoods with children. D & S driver didn't care that he almost hit a car with a family inside. When the parent of the child tried speaking to the D & S driver; The D & S driver didn't roll down the window to speak to the parent. They towed a disabled veteran's car without notice, and when we attempted to make contact refused to give a reason for the tow. We attempted to contact them multiple times this morning and they are sending his calls directly to voicemail. It took our neighbor calling to get ahold of anyone and they REFUSED to give him any information without giving them credit card information. We still have no details. Disgraceful. read more

They towed my car straight out of my parking stall. They claim the plates were expired. In FACT my registration is up to date! I'm waiting on my stickers to be delivered. They refuse to release my car without payment. I parked in my stall and my car is up to date. I cannot rush the state to send out stickers. read more

Hello, my name is Saige Whitney. I speak for the people of Washington County, Utah, to truly explain how horrible the towing company, Zipps Towing/D&S Towing LLC is to consumers. My car gets towed from Red Rock at Sienna Hills. I park in a numbered parking space which isn't allowed but there isn't signs anywhere and I don't live there I'm visiting a friend. I am there for two hours and I come back and my car is towed. I show up the next day at 6am to get it early and pay the after hour fee and he says he can't be for an hour. I decide to call back at 1pm and tell him I'm on my way. He tell me he's in a meeting and can meet me at 3pm, strange. Isn't he in charge of getting my car for me whenever? We arrive at 3pm and he finally pulls up his car at 3:35pm. He tells me I can't get my car without a notary with my dad's signature because he's a co-signer. Apparently there's a new law passed last year in Utah that you need a notary to pick up your car if you co-signed your car. (Please look up to see if this is a law or if this man is just scamming me please.)   HE THEN TELLS ME I CAN WAIT OUTSIDE WHILE I FIGURE IT OUT IN THE ABSOLUTE FREEZING COLD while he goes to his other business next store and locks the door.  Granted, I would wait in my car but that's compounded by ZIPPS TOWING/ D&S LLC.  So I sit down outside in the freezing cold and talk to my dad. My dad is in arizona and not in Utah at the time and has to literally download and scan a Notary document, send it to a notary, get it stamped and signatured online, and then email it back to him. After about two hours of me sitting out in the cold I finally email it to this man and then he charges my card extra money without telling me. He tells me my card didn't go through. I say, well how much did you charge on it? He said $75 for an after hours fee. It's 5:17 PM!! I've been out in the cold figuring this out for 2 hours when you showed up 35 MINUTES LATE FOR YOUR APPOINTMENT AND YOU ARE CHARGING ME $75 still? It's not like I showed up at 5:17 man. I've been here since 3pm. So I denied to pay. Said I'll come back tomorrow. I don't think this service should in any way be tolerated by the state ever. I would put zero stars in it was possible! This company is a thief! I had my car parked in my driveway and because of not "properly" displaying my registration sticker they towed my work truck with all of my tools and I had to pay $300 to get it released. The confusion with my HOA and "zips towing" caused to to miss more than a half day of work as well. Now I'm out of money until I get paid and have a family to support. I hope they get shut down, they have numerous complaints on the BBB and I recommend everyone with a bad experience to file their complaints there as well! read more

Towed my car after sitting in a lot for about an hour. Cost me almost $300 to get it back, doesn't help that the name the lot is patrolled by isn't the one that removed my car. Doesn't have an address listed anywhere, have to call them. Extremely frustrating that they rip hundreds of dollars from college kids like me for leaving their car in the wrong spot. They scammed me saying that they had a holding fee of 100 dollars when they literally had my car for 20 minutes I was also parked where they picked up my car for 10 minutes to help someone move a couch into their house. car was towed when legally parked. The service is awful and they do not communicate hours or fees. They charge a 3% card interest and didn't communicate this. They also say they are open on weekends and when I came to get my vehicle the door was locked. I would not recommend this towing company to anyone. read more

If I could give them negative stars, I would. My husband and I purchased a new car over a holiday weekend when the DMV was closed. We parked our new car in our parking stall on Sunday evening at 10pm, and when we left the house at 8 the next morning, our car was gone, all before the DMV even opened. They literally towed our car before we had ANY chance of registering our new vehicle, just because we purchased it at a time when the DMV was closed. We explained the situation to them and they had absolutely no sympathy and told us their hands were tied. They charged us $270 to get our car back so we could actually register it, even though they towed it before we had the chance. If you ever have the misfortune of meeting them, I'm sorry. read more

They decided to tow my car last night while I'm eating dinner inside the house. I did not mind that because I was parked in the wrong place , but it gets worst in top of that they charged me an arm and a leg in the amount of 330 dollars. I ask them why and they told me it was for charges involving paying for the parking for my vehicle and gas for there tow and more little charges just because where in Utah .I just hope they didn't destroy my vehicle in the tow seeing it being dragged around from the back and somehow got flipped when they brought it back. Towed my car after 15 minutes of it being parked out front of my house, with the keys on the seat still at 6 pm. I called immediately and was told they close at 4 and I wouldn't be able to get my car until the morning. I pick up my car for over 240 bucks and am told not to park in a fire lane although there is no fire lane in front of my house. Dirt bag company never use them if you have the choice. I'll be seeing about a small claim in court against them for towing my car although there is no fire lane outside my home. read more

The fact that they don't have a yelp under the company name "zips towing" Yet is interesting given how they conduct business (until now I hope) and that they have zero reviews on there website (they delete them when they are posted I'm assuming......) should tell you something. Anyway, I have lived at a residence for a year now they have started "patrolling" (scamming) it within the last 2 months. Never had an issue but all of the sudden they towed my suv (which does have and has had current registration & insurance & is listed as a renter/owners personal vehicle with my license plate attached to the list. They towed it for being parked on the landscaping. I live on a 90 degree bend with no parking allowed on the inside corner. It is a tight corner with cars parked on the other side. They towed my suv because 1/2 of a tire was in the rocks of a 1.5 foot section of rocks next to the curb. My bad I was trying to allow maximum room for the tight corner. These guys are crooks. I went to the office and they said they could not find my suv listed on the permitted vehicles list. I stayed quiet with a go pro recording. Then they all of the sudden found it and released my vehicle to me without charge. Not a honest or fair business in my opinion. Avoid them at all cost. Document everything. read more

Hooked my car at 11:59PM last night FROM MY ASSIGNED PARKING STALL for expired tags. I'm disabled, and haven't been able to drive in a while. My tags were expired, but I had already sold the car to my brother 2 days ago. He was going to pick up the car on Tuesday AFTER the holiday. When I finally found out where it was & called, they told me they just got the contract to enforce parking where I live on Sept 1. They posted a sign on the first saying that the area was being patrolled & parking enforced. I didn't even see the sign until today, but I had no clue that it was against the rules to have my car parked in my assigned stall with the tags expired. They hooked my car at 11:59PM, with my wheelchair & handicap placard visible. I'm sure the driver was like "yes! cha ching!" Soon as the clock struck 12AM an extra $40 storage was added. It was $310 to get the car out after them having had it barely over 12 hours! Oh, and it had to be cash or there would be a 3% surcharge in ADDITION to the $310. I've lived in the same place 12yrs. They have NEVER enforced ANY parking rules at all. Not even cars parked in the fire lane or in other people's assigned spots. I agree that my tags were expired, but for it to be towed the way that it was without so much as a knock at the door, hooking it at 11:59pm so that at midnight they could charge another 40 bucks, every bit of it was shady! I wouldn't be able to sleep at night if I participated in a business that treated people without any regard or even basic decency. Reading other reviews of this place it's obvious this wasn't a one time thing. If you have a choice, choose to NEVER use this company! read more
