Great restaurant! It is very cozy and I love the booths! We ordered calamari, fish and chips, and the alfredo with chicken and broccoli. All of our food came out pretty quickly and all were very good! I would recommend their pasta. Although the interior has a nostalgic, old-school vibe, the waitstaff were incredibly friendly. Naturally, they offered a wide variety of beers--and their Thin-Crust Special Pizza was fantastic: not greasy at all, but clean-tasting and delicious. I enjoyed a flight of five beer tasters, plus an additional glass of the Light Peach IPA recommended by the manager, and the whole experience was truly excellent. We had a guest come in from Dallas and we ordered pizza for take out. I placed the ordered for pickup at 4 pm ans when I arrived, it was hot and ready but this is not Little Caesar's. Hahah. We ordered a thin crust 1/2 cheese and 1/2 mushrooms. Thin crust half pep and half sausage and then a thin crust gluten free cheese. I love ordering here cause my son is allergic to gluten and they are very careful here with handling cross contamination. The pizza is great! The sauce has just the right amount of tang to it. It is always cooked with the right amount of crispness. The sausage has that classics Chicago thin crust taste to it. D'Agostinos is a homerun every time in my book! I can tell that it isn't everyones cup of tea but I think they do excellent job here in wheeling. The pizza sauce has a unique sweetness that makes it really stand out amongst the chains. Service is usually good, as I can't recall any crazy long waits. I do know that sometimes things can feel rushed if they ask if I want a box too soon, but It doesn't take away from the overall experience. I absolutely enjoy the mozzarella sticks , with a near propers cook and great flavor. Bonus points for multiple size options! The pizza is always delish, and with a great tavern style crust and sweet sauce combo to boot, my taste buds are jumping with just thinking about it! I cannot comment on the bar/ gaming area of the restaurant, as I have yet to partake in that yet, but I digress. All in all, Dags knows what they doing and continue to contribute to the Za game superbly. Keep up the great work and good food. Was looking for some place to go in the area and drove past it, and later turned around and went in. Was at first put off by people leaving the restaurant (strange encounter and by the slots signage) but the staff was very nice from the time we were greeted going in through the time we left. The place is dated but clean and has that 1970s pizza pub vibe not quite Barnaby's vibe but you know the look. College football on many tv screens. Wasn't loud so you could hold conversations. Ordered a few dishes to split the eggplant parm sandwich with tatters and a medium veggie pizza. Both were very good!! I have memories of Ricobene's eggplant parm sandwich and this wasn't it but honestly it was very good. The pizza was thin crusted with a good char and had a lot of toppings on it. Great chewy bite and I really liked the tomato sauce and the stringy cheese. Even with a few alcoholic drinks the bill was very reasonable. I'm not sure why the place wasn't busy for a Saturday night. It should have been. Will be back! read more

It was my first time visiting this location after going to the Niles location. Let's just say it will be my last. First, there was no booth available, we were sat in the middle of the dining room. It was tight and the servers were swerving and bumping into our chairs. Second, there was no drink menu on the table, only beer/wine. I asked for one and the young girl said nothing. I don't know how this place is still open. A friend invited a number of us to celebrate his birthday here recently and he had ordered a few pizzas to share. The pizza was really greasy. The soda was kind of flat. For dessert, he asked for a scoop of chocolate and a scoop of vanilla in a dish for everyone. What does the restaurant do? They bring out one dish with a scoop of chocolate, and a second dish with a scoop of vanilla, and a third with a rainbow spumoni or something and a bunch of spoons so we could pass the three scoops around the table to share amongst 8 people. They didn't ask to see if this was a weird request or if everyone was getting three scoops each.. Just the three scoops in separate dishes and a bunch of spoons. Let's not forget how empty this place was. Normally if a place is empty at lunchtime on the weekend, there may be one or two other tables with people or a couple hanging out in the bar area. D'Agostino's was completly empty except for our table. It was so empty that a server who was waiting on us asked to have the bill paid as she was being sent home early. It was 2pm. Early was an understatement. Maybe there were delivery orders, but I doubt it. The place was dead. I don't understand how they stay open. My advice: skip it as there are better options for pizza in the area and if you want anything else that's on their menu, I'm sure there are better places in the area to find them. The space is great for large parties. Old school pizzeria feel with decor to match. The service was slow and not in-step with a business that is trying to keep customers. The gaming area was busy and clean. The pizza was about the worst tasting sauce I've had in quite some time. It seemed as though it was lacking any flavor/spices. Actually my comment was they probably have a can in the back labeled "pizza sauce" and that's their secret recipe. The chicken parmigiana sandwich was good! I ordered it with a baked potato, but was accidentally served crinkle fries with it. Our server immediately retrieved a baked potato from the kitchen. As with other entrees here, the meals were large and none of us were able to finish all of our food. We love Dags! Service is always great . Destiny is attentive in the bar area and the Owner Debbie is always on top of it. This place is our second come and we come for dinner a Couple times a week. We were so fortunate to have our son's and almost Daughter-in-law's wedding rehearsal dinner at D'Agostino's in Wheeling last week Friday June 2nd! Debbi the Manager (and owner!) and all that work there were SO helpful and the food, drink, desserts ... and the service ...was incredible!! Their party room is SO wonderful with beautiful twinkly lights and the decor is just wonderful. Can't wait to be there again soon for dinner and many more parties! And one important thing too...they have gluten free dinner items and pizza they kindly prepare and those with GF needs said it was the best food and GF pizza they ever had. We came back here a week after having a disappointing take out order in which I was credited for a bad appetizer. The girl I had spoken to was there and remembered the situation, we were given a super sweet waitress, and they honored the $12.95 credit. We decided to give those mini corn dogs a second try. The waitress assured us that if they looked crappy, she would call the kitchen out on the mess up. That order never made it to our table, for that exact reason. The reorder came out and looked much better...until we bit inside and the hot dog inside was ice cold. How do you get hot batter coating and a cold hot dog inside? We sent them back and got toasted ravioli instead. The server explained to us that the mini corn dogs are a new menu item and they just can't seem to make them right. She told us how food that is made fresh in house is totally different than stuff that comes pre-made and frozen. Well, yeah. I would expect that. Overall, they honored the credit for the previous experience. They didn't charge for the second order or the ravioli AND they gave us a massive discount on our total order (we ordered pizza and my friend had a cup of chili). The raviolis were tasty, my friend liked his chili, and our pizza was pretty good. I give them credit for trying but they need to reevaluate menu items and what they kitchen can and cannot do right. read more

After 45 check ins here, we finally tried the deep dish pizza - the "Dag's Special". It was a mixed result. I thought it was unusual, but a decent option to the "Big Three" Chicago style places. The better half said "Never again", citing a too sweet sauce and a serious lack of meat ingredients. So we will stick to the sandwiches and pasta entrees. Most of these are excellent, particularly the burgers, Italian Beef, the "Oven Baked Grinders", Chicken Parmesan, Lasagna and many of the Paninis. Service is still a bit haphazard, depending on the server, but its generally fine. One nice drink option, they have a No-Caffeine, sugar free Lemon Lime Sprite Zero. read more

We often frequent the D'Ags in the Glen often for their fabulous thin crust pizza so this location is a nice addition. It has a much larger bar with many tables, more larger screen TVs and much better bar service since there is a dedicated food server and a bartender. Tried two new (for us) - non-pizza items. The Cubano Panini and the D'Ags Hot Salad. Both were very good choices that rivaled their thin crust pizza for both interest and flavor. The Cubano Panini had only ham and cheese (no roast pork - boo, hoo) but it that made up for it with the solid amount of ham and Swiss cheese (one slice on each side) and the nice warm toastiness. It was served on sliced Italian bread and since it was dubbed a panini (panino would be technically more accurate for one sandwich) we'll let the lack of Cuban bread (like French but lighter) slide - it is not saying it is an authentic Cuban Sandwich. The French fries served with the sandwich however were possibly the star of the plate. Thin, with a little skin on and very well cooked to a nice golden brown, they were salted liberally (and accurately!) Very hard to stop eating them off my better half's plate. The D'Ags "Hot" salad was delicious. The "Hot" refers to two warm elements - either grilled chicken breast or Italian sausage served warm on top of the salad and the use of hot giardiniera within the salad itself, They recommend the house made Italian dressing but I preferred the house made thin and slightly sweet balsamic vinaigrette instead. For $7.95 for a filled bowl of salad with plenty of meat it is a very good value. The indoor dining room is a bit blah looking and somewhat depressing - we try to avoid it. It really needs some dark elements as it looks very sterile - somewhat like a cafeteria with a few TVs added to the wall. They do have two outdoor seating patios, one right on Milwaukee Ave so I would not choose that spot (an errant driver and their car could literally fly onto your table!) and a second one off of the parking lot in the back- not the greatest views but it is outside. perhaps if they add a few potted plants it will soften the feel. We will return and perhaps try another few non-pizza items. read more

This was the old Hackney's. It has been completely redone from the bathrooms to the kitchen and everything in between and doesn't resemble the old place at all. I went here for a little gathering and the super thin pizza was very good. Several varieties were served and though I'm not a big veggie on my pizza guy...the veggie pizzas were very good as well. Beef and sausage was served too and I really like the beef but the sausage needed a 'char' on it for my taste. The place has only been open a short time and I really liked the bar area. The bar is very long (seats 30 or so) and there's a lot of tables and high tops and TVs. Domestic bottled beer was $3.50. I'll let you know about the rest of the menu, but I may not get past the pizza. Outdoor seating weather permitting of course. Now it's used for the smokers. Plenty of parking. read more
