FANTASTIC, AWESOME, DELICIOUS food! Great and friendly service. Quaint and comfy atmosphere. We were in Great Lakes,IL for my son's Navy graduation and were staying at the Navy Lodge. The front desk highly recommend this place. We were so happy that she did because this was one of the best places to eat while out there. We actually visited this establishment twice within the week. The pizza is a MUST!! We tried the meat lovers which was FANTASTIC. The second time around we decided to try the seafood pizza and that was FABULOUS! We also had the onion rings both times. You cannot go wrong by visiting this place. I highly, highly recommend this place. I can't wait to go back if we are ever in Illinois.

First time in IL and wanted to try the famous Chicago style deep dish. It was thick with a golden crust that's sturdy without feeling like a bread wall. The mix of sliced meatballs, sausage, pepperoni, and bacon hits with smoky, savory heat, layered into molten cheese with tangy tomato sauce and large chunks of rich tomatoes. The wings were juicy with a crisp shell. The buffalo sauce was more tangy than spicy-- with just enough kick.

Chris S. loves canned pineapple! He just can't get enough of it. The pizza is outstanding, and the staff somehow still keeps a straight face!

The BEST deep dish pizza in Chicago! You have to try the Seafood Pizza! Its incredibly savory and sooooo good!

I was in town for business and a local recommended this place. Several years ago I had Chicago deep dish pizza in the heart of Chicago so I figured I'd try this place. It took several minutes for a server to come get my drink and order. After that everything was kosher. It had good flavor. Not quite what I remember from my trip to Chicago a long time ago. The outer crust was a little too thick if you will. But for the most part it was satisfying.

Family friendly pizza joint with hearty portions and good vibes. Great for large groups with plenty of seating even upstairs. We tried the infamous seafood specialty pizza and it did not disappoint. It kind of tasted like I was having a clam chowder soup out of a bread bowl (given the white sauce). I thought it was seasoned perfectly (not too salty) and enjoyed it because I've never had seafood on pizza before! The country Italia speciality pizza, however, was a bit too intense/salty for our taste buds but that was solved with mouthfuls of salad. I would skip if you're looking for something lighter. Looking forward to coming back and trying out some standards like the margherita and some unique zas like their four cheese macaroni and bacon!

First visit to Silo's was one week ago. My husband has visited this restaurant for a couple of years while on business trips to the area and this was my first time. We ordered a 14 in Taco Pizza with thin crust ($24.99) to share and it was really really good. Not many restaurants make a taco pizza and if they do, it's not nearly as tasty as this one. Deep Dish is the specialty in this area but the thin crust on this pizza was perfect. Our server (Kylie) was friendly, very personable and just awesome. The restaurant is really a great environment. There are model trains close to the ceiling, Pennie's make up the floor in the men's restroom. The dining room is quite large and there is a nice bar area. We saw several people picking up take out as we were coming in and leaving the restaurant. Out of our whole week visiting the area, this is one of my two most favorite restaurants to experience.

The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating, which made the experience even better. We tried the cheesy garlic bread on their fresh house made focaccia, the rigatoni vodka, the jalapeño pineapple pizza on the Roma crust, and the veggie pizza on the pan crust. The fresh focaccia was easily the star of the meal and made both the garlic bread and the Roma crust pizza so good. The rigatoni vodka was also a standout with a rich, flavorful sauce that I'd happily order again. The pan crust wasn't my favorite, but everything else was fresh, delicious, and made with quality ingredients. Parking is street parking but there are parking lots all around so we just parked in one and walked over. Upon arriving we were quickly seated. The table was a bit dirty but we just used a baby wipe to wipe it down as it took a while for someone to come over to us. We had to go to the bar to track someone down in order to get a kids menu because they didn't give us one despite asking if we needed one We ordered the buffalo wings to start, it was super hot but the flavors were there. I was only able to eat one because it was a bit too hot for me but that's okay. For our pizza we tried 2 different ones. One regular pizza and one motor city style. The Maa Pie was delicious! It was sweet and savory and the toppings were well spread on every bite. What I did struggle with was how doughy the crust tasted for it being a thin crust but overall a great pie! We also tried the Works. It was great and fluffy, plenty of toppings perfectly baked. As we were eating we needed napkins and some silverware but had to run to the bar to get someone to bring some over. The turn off was that all the staff was standing there staring at us as they were talking about one of their tables in a negative way. While they weren't talking about us, they were talking about another family with a kiddo and I can only imagine how I'd feel if I could hear them talking about us. Overall the food was great, bathrooms were clean but the service was lacking this experience but I'm not sure if that's how it always is? I'd also highly recommend cleaning the menus before giving it to folks, both of the menus we received had food stuck to it and tomato sauce (I think?) all over the inside.

On the menu: Wings, Meatballs, Caesar Salad, Salads, Pizza Bianca, Deli Sandwiches, Sandwiches, Italian Food, and more. We split a Four Cheese Detroit style pan pizza. The wait staff recommended having cheese in the crust, but we said maybe next time. I enjoyed the crispy crunchy edges and the dough was light and airy. We split the crispy Brussels sprouts with bacon and an order of meatballs. Our food came out quickly, and tasted great! Staff was friendly and helpful.

When you think of wings at most bars, you expect something decent, maybe a little too breaded,…read moremaybe drowning in sauce, good enough with a drink but nothing unforgettable. Glen Flora is not that. These wings genuinely outclass the usual bar standard, and they do it without trying too hard. The first thing that stands out is the crisp. Not a thick, heavy crust, just a light coating that gives you that clean crunch when you bite in. A lot of places overdo it and hide the chicken under batter. Here, the texture actually works with the meat instead of covering it up. And once you get past that crisp exterior, the chicken is seriously juicy. Tender, flavorful, and cooked the way wings are supposed to be. The hot BBQ sauce tastes exactly how good barbecue should: smoky, a little sweet, familiar in the best way. But the heat is what makes it special. It doesn't overpower. It lifts everything. The spice sharpens the sweetness and makes the smokiness pop a little more. It feels balanced, like someone actually thought about the flavor What surprised me most? I was there with a few friends, and normally that's all laughs and conversation. But once those wings hit the table, I caught myself zoning out, focused on what was in front of me. I was in my own little world. And at $1 per wing, it almost feels unfair. I ordered 15... and honestly? I should've ordered more. These aren't just "good for bar wings." They're just good. Crisp, juicy, balanced, and way better than you expect walking in. Rating: 8.7/10

While I consider myself a foodie, I had little interest in driving around the Waukegan area the night I visited Anastasia's. Tempted to order another, I realized a single glass was on the border of my daily alcohol per diem?! I decided to forgo the pizza special for wings and cheese curds. The resulting dishes provided a healthy amount (see picture), however, taste (as other Yelpers note) was average.
