PLEASE READ!!! My dear friend has attended this dental group for over 15 years. She is an older lady that suffers from a stroke. She simply asked for an invoice on her account. She was told they don't give out invoices. And they demanded her to pay a bill she had not even seen yet. Her speech is damaged from the stroke. So her nephew was assisting her at the DDS office. The lady at the dest was very very aggressive even followed them out the door and held out that she was going to call the police on her. The dentist came out and pulled his staff member back into the office and my friend and her nephew were able to leave. The dentist ended up giving her an invoice amd told.her the amount was wrong that the office staff had made a mistake and the charges would be changed. Be very very careful with this office. Dr. Shayan and his staff run a very efficient and caring practice. The Dr. himself is a no BS type of provider and gets things done. I just recently started going to him about 8 months ago while I was looking for a new provider. I was dragging my feet in finding one until I developed an infection that had moved into my sinuses. It was in my throat, my ear, my eye, and causing headaches. I honestly thought I had cancer and my next stop was to my primary care physician. He was able to identify the problem with a few X-rays and get rid of it in record time. I really appreciate the way they operate and have moved both of my teenagers over to them as well. I have a 15 and 17 yr old who are less than happy to go to the dentist. He made them both laugh and had them in and out with their cleanings in less than an hour. The girl who cleaned my teeth today was kind and gentle. I came in for a filling which I did not get because the dentist said that I might need a root canal which would be $1200 to $1400 with the crown according to my insurance. I called my insurance company and they said my copay should be under $400. Also, I think his main focus is on pulling teeth and implants not other patient care. I switched dentists. read more

Dr. Omid Shayan, DDS owns Cypress Dental Group at 9922 Walker Street, Suite C, Cypress, CA 90630. He conducted malpractices on my left front tooth implant. When the implanted tooth was in, it was touching my healthy teeth at the bottom. He said he was going to polish my teeth at the bottom but he trimmed off about 1/4 height of two of my healthy teeth at the bottom. I felt he was using some significant power grinding down my teeth at the bottom. Immediately I felt he was doing it wrong and trying to do it fast. It happened so quickly that when I finally reacted to stop him, I saw a prick sticking up about 1/4" high remaining at the edge of one of the two teeth that he trimmed off. I asked him why he cut my healthy teeth and cut so much. He said he told me before he did it. But that is not the case. I only heard he said he was going to polish them. In any case, he should not have used such excess force to trim off about 1/4 height of my healthy teeth so rapidly. It made me feel that he's run out of time and he needed to move to his next client quickly. He was busy serving multiple clients/patients concurrently. Normally, I saw 3 or 4 other patients in different rooms. He moves around each room. I am so sad because when I reach out my tongue to the inside of the bottom row of my front teeth, I can feel they are shorter of a normal size, much shorter than before. They are healthy teeth and do not deserve a cut like that at all. I feel: 1. it is unnecessary to cut healthy teeth. 2. He should at least discuss with me and get my permission before cutting such big pieces off my healthy teeth. 3. He should trim the new implant tooth to suit the surrounding teeth, instead. 4. . This an ethic issue. The dentist has limited time for each patient/client when practicing his business of serving multiple patients/clients concurrently. He does that by cutting short of the due processes and sacrificing my precious healthy teeth. read more

I am not one to gush easily about anything but I felt that I wanted to share my experience as it changed my life. The expertise and sheer attention to detail performed by Dr Shayan is absolutely remarkable. I have full mouth implants and have had my new teeth in for approximately 6 months now and could not be happier or more satisfied. After a few adjustments in the first few weeks, I cannot reiterate enough how incredible this process has been for me. I have my smile back and I can eat anything I want without issues. Dr. Shayan has been great following up on my deep cleaning. He can do regular dental work and implants, too! All in house. And the dental assistants have been very caring and friendly to me. I love that I would not have to wait for more than 5 to 10 minutes past my appointment every time! This is huge as many of my relatives going to other dentists have to spend at least a few hours or half day for a regular appointment!! And I remember seeing there was an air purifier in every treatment room and the lobby during the pandemic. I still see some now and don't know what happened to the others. Also, the hygienist, Diem, I hope I put her name correctly, has been amazing!! She is gentle, super friendly, highly skilled in her job! My regular cleaning with her was always smoothing. Went to this dentist office after having a horrible experience at another dentist office & this guy is just as much of a scammer. The cleaning was done well by the dental hygienist however my experience with the Doctor Shayan was not good. He walked in and immediately told me I needed a root canal by barely glancing over at my x ray images. He then proceeded to tell me if I wanted to fix it if not the tooth will just fall out. I was in shock because I've never had a root canal done and the prior dentist never mentioned I ever needed one. He then asked me if I had any questions & I asked him about how much would that process would be & he stated with your insurance about $1300-1600. That sounded absurd because my dental handbook clearly states a root canal is between $90-300. Keep in mind he talked to me for about 2 minutes & then moved on to do a procedure on a lady who was waiting in another room. Can't trust dental offices these days. They're money hungry. read more

I am going in tomorrow for my next round of implants. I have been seeing Dr Shayan for over 1 year. I initially found him via his coupon, and after "his" direct responses to my questions that I had asked by email that I had in regards to concerns that I read via his YELP reviews, I felt like I should have an initial consult with him. (Mainly one's insurance not paying or something.) At any rate, I am happy with his "bedside manner" and am opting to going back for more treatment. During the initial consult where fees were discussed, my fees/cost did not change, regardless if my insurance paid or not. My only gripe would be that his staff 'seems' to take up 90% of the total parking spaces, versus walking a few extra feet from the Empty next door CVS parking lot, as they run in from their lunch breaks from parking closer when those spots should be for Patients only. Otherwise, prepare to wait for longer periods to park, (10-15 more minutes), until someone leaves unless you care to "walk in" from the CVS parking lot. After reaching there they gave us few Visiting cards of other pediatric doctors as the lady at the counter said other pediatric doctors can see/handle kids better. The doctor seemed very busy. Visited Cypress Dental Group for a consultation with Dr. Shayan for a dental implant. Dr. Shayan evaluated the tooth, offered a treatment plan with a clear timeline and costs described. I decided at the initial visit to proceed with the treatment plan. Each phase of the process was explained in detail with no surprises. The office divided my cost into reasonable payments. Dr. Shayan ensured I was comfortable and pain free with each step. He is quick but checks in with me throughout to make sure I'm OK. Process took several months but went smoothly.
