I have been coming here for over 5 years and was under the care of Dr. Iman, he was great! Since he left, I can't even process what just happened during my visit by the new dentist, I felt as though I was being scammed. I came in for a regular cleaning and based off looking at some Live Photos of my teeth, the dentist said I needed a deep cleaning for $600! No periodontal chart, no examining the xrays! (There was just some stains and some build up). He was asking me a ton of questions like he was trying to find a "gotcha" answer, and use that to justify a deep cleaning. "Do you smoke, do you drink, do you take supplements?" Yadi yadi ya. I have had a deep cleaning before and I was never asked these many questions (Like I was being interrogated). Previous dentist would just look at the xray and pockets to make an objective decisions. He was also acting like he was super concerned about my teeth and that this was devastating for me (I give the acting a 7/10, it was pretty decent). He then said he will see what he can do and drop some services during the deep cleaning and hook me for $160 for the deep cleaning. I walked out and talked to two different dentists/hygienist for a 2nd opinion and they said I definitely did not need a deep cleaning! The other dental office did a regular cleaning, removed the stains and build up and I was good to go. This place is so shady and unethical and needs to be reported to the BBB if you fell victim to one of their upsales. Please do not fall for their trap and seek second opinions. read more

First time client here back in 2021, it was different doctors then. I had my gums treated here and I had done a root canal and received a crown that was made in the office with some type of machine. I didn't have any issues after the procedure til this year. New dentist informed me I have a root canal again on that same tooth. Which was strange because it was only 4 years since that procedure. The crown didn't fit properly and was not sealed close to my gums. New dentist informed me 4 canals should've been cleaned not 3, as 1 was missed when new dentist went in to retreat. I suppose my hygiene took part but the crown should've been sealed properly too. read more

Listen to all the 1 star reviews and do not come here. My experience was a decayed molar that had existing structural damage from another dentist years ago. The offer of treatment was drilling the decay or root canal. Extraction was not an offer. I payed a lot of money for a prep of new crown and Dentist drilled as the treatment plan. The pain afterwards with migraines was excruciating! I kept calling the office and nothing was offered in terms of extraction. I also underwent multiple x-rays which I had to double up on anyways for the new dental office since the new Dental office gave it to me straight that this tooth could not be saved and if they did root canal it would only be temporary treatment and they would need remove a lot of gum behind it to do the treatment. Disappointed with the quality of care and lack of accountability. My husband is getting a permanent bridge here, and the experience has been incredibly frustrating due to shortcut treatments and poor management. Substandard Materials: Last week, his temporary bridge fell off. The assistant admitted the office was missing the necessary parts to make it correctly, but they placed it incomplete anyway. Weekend Emergency: Because it was structurally unsound, the temporary broke into pieces over the weekend, leaving his teeth exposed and in pain. The office's emergency line completely dismissed us. Medical Contradiction: Management claimed they couldn't make a proper temporary bridge because he was missing a tooth, so they just gave him two individual crowns. A bridge is literally designed to replace a missing tooth! Leaving that gap unlinked completely defeated the purpose of a spacer and caused the failure. No Accountability: Despite these clear mistakes, management and Dr. Magar refused to offer an apology or a courtesy discount on our remaining balance. The permanent bridge fits fine, but the customer service and total refusal to acknowledge a mistake means we cannot recommend this practice. read more

Highly recommend. This place is clean and friendly. I hate going to the dentist but the staff here are nice and patient. After X-rays, I always observe the tech wipe down the equipment/ computer. Cleanliness is important! During a routine cleaning one time, I forgot who it was, but she noticed I was anxious, clenching my hands. She recommended I took out my AirPods and put on music. I'd like to start out by saying that I have been going to Stanton smiles for over 3 years now, possibly going on 4 years. We used this place even though we lived in Long Beach because we loved the dentist that was there. He left over a year ago for Private practice and we decided to stay with the dental office. And I like the preface. Everything that I'm going to say with the actual dentist that worked on my tooth is pretty good. He's pretty caring. He seems to understand how to interact with his patients. On the other hand, some of the people working at the front desk in particular. I think there's one girl there don't really know her name show no compassion for patients who are having a dental emergency. Don't try to fit you in are not accommodating. Just a general overall lack of care. In my opinion, when a patient is under your care and something like a crown falls off after only being installed one day that constitutes an emergency because that's a constant pain the exposed nerve. Instead of trying to fit me in the girl I spoke with there was like oh oh you'll have to come in 3 days later. Mind you, I've already spent the weekend without my crown because it fell off on a Saturday. I don't know if this type of treatment is standard in other places. It certainly wasn't the norm at Stanton smiles dentistry baby. When I first got there they were on top of it. But now I don't know if it's over corporatization or what, but they lack any care or concern for their patients. It is for that reason when I am mid procedure that I am now looking for a new dentist because I refuse to pay and be treated with no concern at all. They have an easy online scheduling portal and I made a same day appt. Octavio then called me right away and moved the appointment up, to fit my schedule better. The office is brand new and clean. Jimmy took x-rays of me and right from the start, you could tell they were well oiled. He could make anyone seem at ease, and he was fast. Dr Ibrahim was energetic, gentle, and thorough. He came up with a plan for me that would catch me up and also scheduled an in house periodontal consult for me. I have had problems for years and he is the first dentist to suggest a periodontist. On to Lourd, who scaled and cleaned my teeth faster than anyone I've ever had before. I didn't even need numbing. She paused and checked many times to make sure that I was ok. I literally fell asleep in the chair a couple times. I had deep pockets and over a years worth of heavy plaque. So happy I found them. Octavio set up a plan for my next visit and was upfront on what was needed and what was not needed and the price was what I paid pre-covid days. When I finally went in, I was told I needed several additional procedures. While the recommendations may have been valid, the way it was presented felt a little unexpected and a bit pushy. Still, I trusted the doctor and booked a follow-up to move forward with the treatment. Since then, the office has canceled on me twice -- both times on short notice. For years I have been charged a co-pay somewhere between $65 - $80 for a simple teeth cleaning. After reviewing my dental benefits, it states I am 100% covered for two cleanings per year. I wrote them a letter asking why I am consistently charged a co-pay and to contact me prior to my next scheduled cleaning. Months went by. I went in to get my teeth examined. The dentist examined my teeth and told me that I need to get my wisdom teeth removed. They quoted me around 5K (without insurance) just to remove two, upper wisdom teeth. As I went to check-out, the Asian receptionist tried to schedule me for an appointment, without even asking me. I told her, "Can I get back to you because it's sure a lot of money?" She then responded, "Well, it's not that much money." After I showed another dentist their itemized estimate, the dentist told me that I didn't need some of things they recommended. This review is long overdue but I was a first time patient end of last year. Absolutely the worst experience ever. Although the staff were very attentive and nice, it's just a ploy to scam you. The aftermath of them trying to bill me for a simple teeth cleaning is appalling. All the other 1 star reviews on Yelp and Google are 100% accurate, and I'm certain the 5 star reviews were bought and fake. I decided to come here since I moved and I was able to walk there during my lunch break. I came as a walk in and noted that I needed a routine semiannual teeth cleaning and filling for my tooth since it broke. I waited for nearly an hour before I was able to meet a doctor since my insurance provider was new to me and them. After an hour, they said wow my insurance was amazing because they cover everything. Shortly after, I finally met with the doctor, she gave me a consultation. I told her I'm just here for my teeth cleaning & get my tooth filled. The doctor indicated I didn't need to fill my tooth (which is a lie because I can feel and see the hole) and proceeded to list a ton of things I may need to get done and I will likely need to come back for another consultation. At that moment, I didn't understand what was happening then she told me to go into another room to get my teeth x-rayed then cleaned. Fast forward, I am in another room and the doctor wanted to go over my x-ray results and said I need gum graft surgery and I will need to come back for another consultation. I said I would think about it. After that, the doctor leaves and then the gal at the front desk comes into the room. This whole experience felt very transactional like I was at a car dealership. Well, the gal said your health insurance is AMAZING countless times again, and said let's schedule your appointments now and also it's going to cost $180 for my teeth cleaning since this is a deep teeth cleaning (even though I did not ask for this) and they were unable to charge it on the my provider's debit card. At that time I was thinking maybe it's just my provider since it was my first time using it so I charged it on my personal card instead (thankfully, I was able to get a refund from my provider later since I submitted an itemized receipt). After my appointments were set up and paid, I had to go to a different room where a different doctor came into the room. She then proceeded to clean my teeth (took 5 minutes) but only cleaned the right side of my teeth. She said you'll have to come back in two weeks to get my left side cleaned because this is a deep teeth cleaning and it's protocol for them... this whole experience took approximately 3 hours. I went home in disbelief and after everything settled in, I realized I was getting scammed since they tried to add services/consultations before the year-end. Even more so when I saw the two doctors tried to bill my provider, which they tried to bill $1,221 for the consultation/scan and $1,050 for the deep teeth cleaning. I called my provider immediately to explain, which we both had a laugh and agreed this was the most bizarre experience since I only got half of my teeth cleaned and that x-rays should only cost $60. I ended up cancelling my appointments to get the left side of my teeth cleaned and consultation.. Well fortunately, I had a $2K budget and my provider adjusted the bill down from to $2,271 to $1,000 so I didn't have to pay anything out of pocket. Paid for an inlay few years ago, broke after a year. Unfortunately when I went back to get it fixed Dr.Iman had left the company and they would not honor the 5 year warranty i had for the service because the doctor had left the company. I ended up seeing Dr.Marcos Magar that day. Per Dr.Magar , " he was not going to fix Dr.Iman's work and if I wanted to get it fixed without having to pay again , I was able to find it at his new location in Long Beach". Zero star! Filing fraudulent bills/ insurance claims I came here for a root canal treatment. After agreeing on treatment plan and cost, I finished all payments on Feb 24, or so I thought. In July, they sent me a bill saying my account is overdue and I owned them. When taking a look at the amount billed to my insurance and me on their website, the numbers don't match the financial agreement that was given to me at all. No online statement was made available to me before July 01 so I couldn't even check if they double billed for my service. Extremely shady. After calling and talking for 1 month, despite all my effort to contact them on the "debt" that I was never made aware of, "my" debt was sent to a collection agency. Per my last call with them, they admit that the billing was wrong and agreed to waive it. But here I am, in September, still receiving bills from them. No clear answer was given. Mostly discrepancies between what was covered and not covered by the insurance and how my benefits weren't properly explained to me by the receptionist. Angie made it after I explained to her the situation. That's why I'm changing my review to 3 stars, Angie made it right by me, being a first time patient of theirs. She understood my frustration and took my side your miles may vary. Luckily for us it wasn't a huge bill. My cleaning experience was decent and the office is beautiful with the latest tech. The problem or issue that I have is that they recommended a night guard for my teeth I was told that my insurance coverage was good for that . Went in for a routine dental cleaning, left without one--Won't be your money cow! This was my first (and last) time at this dental office. I selected this office due to their high rating on Yelp but should have paid attention to the negative reviews. I was due for my semiannual dental cleaning which is covered by dental insurance plans. I got dental x-rays done at this office since I was a new patient. The dentist recommended a semi-deep cleaning with laser because my gums were a little bit red. This was his recommendation just by looking at the pictures (not x-rays) that the x-ray technician took with a wand. I am sure I had a puzzled look on my face, so the dentist gave me a mirror to hold and poked around my gums to show me what he was referring to. Please note that the dentist never performed a periodontal charting (exam where the dentist pokes your gums and says a series of numbers- not my first time at a dentist). The billing tech comes in and says my cost will be $260 out of pocket for the recommended cleaning. I explained that this year I reduced my dental insurance coverage (since I only expected to do my routine dental cleaning as advised by my previous dentist) and I would postpone that cleaning procedure until early next year once I upgrade my dental insurance. She tried scaring me saying, by next year you may need a deep cleaning which cost $400+. She leaves and another employee comes and tells me I am all done. (?!) I asked if I would get a regular cleaning done and says no because that would worsen things. I asked to speak to the dentist. The dentist comes in and says, I hear you have a high deductible insurance. Let me see what we can do. The billing tech comes back and says the best we can do $190 for the procedure. I declined and was dismissed without a cleaning. I will be taking mine and my family business to a more honest dentistry that does not see us with a money sign on our forehead. This office is scam! I came for a cleaning because my previous dentist retired six months ago. I was looking for one closer to my house. So saw their advertised came for a teeth cleaning maybe X-ray and exam. They did X-ray and exam and then told me that I had two cavities and need a deep cleaning! I'm like what? Dr. Iman and his entire staff are the best! I have been going here for over a year now and finally look forward to going to the dentist again. I originally went to Dr. Iman with pain and had previously been told I would need root canals but turns out it was actually pain from grinding and clenching. He fitted me for a mouth guard and the pain went away almost immediately! I loved going to the dentist as a child then after countless bad experiences at other dentists over the last few decades I not only was afraid of seeing the dentist (to the point of needing sedation) but also grew wary that any dental office could be trusted. However, Dr. Iman and his staff changed all of that for me. Dr. Iman has great bedside manner, he is honest and very knowledgeable. He takes his time and only recommends necessary treatment without trying to upsell or scam you like so many other dental offices these days. The hygienist and back office staff are very personable and do a great job from the x-rays, cleanings and fittings. The front office staff is friendly and goes over all of the paperwork and any charges. They respond quickly to my requests and it's always easy to get an appointment at a convenient time even after work. The office is clean with modern equipment. I watch the staff take the time to sanitize everything which is so important especially during the pandemic. I highly recommend Stanton Smiles. My husband now goes here and I'll be recommending Dr. Iman to the rest of my family! read more

I came here for teeth cleaning, a couple of days later my bridge felt loose, I went back in with the hopes they could re-cement it I left the office with an itemization of over $12000.00 the dentist that place my bridge is one of the best in OC he did it 5 years ago and I never had an issue till I went to this provider. I am a new patient here. I came in for a check up, cleaning and X-rays. Checking in on the iPad was smooth and easy. All of the staff members are welcoming and friendly. I've never had a more comfortable X-ray experience, I'm usually sensitive to holding it in my mouth but it wasn't your typical film X-rays and the process was quick. The place has new updated technology and is the cleanest dental office I have been to. I got a thorough explanation of my current dental health and it was nice to be informed and walked though everything (including showing me pictures to help me understand). Thanks to Emily, Alyssa, Tammy, Sharon and Dr. Taifour for a wonderful first experience at the office. I look forward to returning for next steps.
