Most of us have had bad experiences with mechanics, especially if you don't know that much about cars, like me. However, this is not one of those places, I am happy to say. Namat is the most honest guy I've ever dealt with in terms of estimates and things of that nature, and they have a friendly staff there, too. A specific story I can tell is that I had my car break down on the way to Las Vegas a couple of years ago, just north of Fontana on the 15 freeway. I had the car towed to the nearest repair shop in Fontana; turns out a new clutch was needed. My car was a '99 Toyota Camry. Even not knowing much about cars, I figured, OK, this is a basic car, and I figured it would cost anywhere between $300-600 The place gave me an estimate of $1200! I was obviously upset but I was in an area that I didn't know and I wasn't quite sure what to do. So I called Namat. He confirmed with me that their price was outrageous, and I asked what his estimate would be, and he said just over $400 or so. What ended up happening is that a friend of mine found a place in Fontana nearby that got good Yelp reviews, and I ended up staying overnight in Fontana while they worked on my car the next morning. The total price was $415. The point I'm trying to make is that I was in a tough jam, couldn't have the car towed all the way back to Cypress from Fontana, and even though Namat knew that in this instance I wouldn't be bringing my car to him for business, he nonetheless wanted to give me the best information he could. And he wasn't just trying to usher me off the phone; we talked for a few minutes. He's an honest guy and they do good work at Cypress Auto, and I would recommend them to anybody. read more
