Referred To Matt by Steve at Cypress Muffler for my daily 1983 volvo 240 GL manual. I had some immediate repairs that needed to be complete. 2 motor mounts and 1 trans mount. I also needed my speedo cable replaced along with new housing to stop a small leak where the cable goes into the transmission on the passenger side. Both odometer and speedometer did not work. Lastly, I had a small fuel line leak so I was unable to fill my gas tank past half way. If i did there would be obvious leaks that smelt and gave me horrible gas mileage. Matt is prompt and set me up with an appointment the following week. He told me the new speedo cable will fix the speedometer needle but may not fix the odometer reading if the odometer gear is bad. Turns out the speedometer works great and the odometer still doesnt due to a bad gear. I will save that service for another time. The car drives great with all 3 mounts replaced and the small leaks both from transmission and fuel lines are fixed. Matt delievered on his promise to complete work same day I dropped off my Volvo. His knowledge is extensive and his prices are fair. I already recommended my friend who is local and will continue recommending people to Matt. Thank you! read more

Matt does not disappoint. I have gone to another mechanic in Los Alamitos for a few years. My problem with this shop and they would keep my car for WEEKS.... not just one, but several!!! Other family members have been going to Matt for years and now I know why! I contacted Matt to look at my 1997 4Runner. I thought there was a leak. I set up an appointment with him. He said to bring the truck in later that week if it was convenient for me. Went into his shop and instantly, I felt warm and welcomed. No lines of others waiting. Although Matt has other mechanics that help, he actually looks and works on your car himself. I left my car there in the morning. I informed him of my concerns. He said he would take a look and check everything out. Any other mechanic or car repair shop probably would've taken me for granted with this "leak" concern and charge me a hefty sum to "repair." Matt? Did I neglect to tell you just how honest he is? It goes hand in hand with they type of guy he is, how much he values his workmanship and high work ethics. He calls me and says, "I checked you truck thoroughly and I can't seem to find the leak you were referring to. You were probably noticing the ac condensation which is absolutely normal. Upon checking your vehicle, I couldn't find a thing wrong. A few minor things like an oil change (because your oil appears dark), a new engine air filter and windshield wipers. Other than that, your car is in great condition and has a life of a car with 20,000 miles on it!" Anyone else could have hit a home run with this non existent issue and charge a ying-yang to "repair." Not Matt. He is a man of integrity and of God, so you know he runs a good honest business! Let me begin the review by saying, I one hundred percent agree with all the 5 ratings for Matt's Import and a little confused by the ones that are less than 5. May be they just got confused Matt's import with someone else. Anyways, my experience with Matt has nothing short of amazing. As the Yelp rating tool says when giving someone 5 stars "As good as it gets!". Matt's Imports is as good as it gets. I have been Matt's customer for around 6 yrs now. I was introduced to Matt by one of my colleague and I will always be thankful to him for that. In this age and time, its hard to find someone like Matt who is as honest and caring as any. He is great to work with. So far I have serviced my 5 cars with him, including 3 which were on lease but I didnt have the service coverage for them during my lease term. What can I say about Matt that hasn't already been said? I guess I'll just have to echo what everyone else has said that has wrote a review on Matt. And that's what I mean, its a review on Matt not Matt's Imports. Don't get me wrong, his shop is top notch. The work is always perfect, timely & guaranteed. But the star of the show is definitely Matt & his family. When I call his shop for repairs I have to catch myself when he answers the phone because on numerous occasions I've just said "Hi Matt, how you been? So I have *insert problem*" without ever identifying who I am. The reason for this is Matt makes you part of his family. You feel like you don't have to identify yourself because he will know who you are on voice alone. Of course that's impossible as this man has way too many clients to keep track of them all, let alone by voice over the phone. Matt is one of those guys that you don't find in the world much anymore. He's the type of guy to give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. The weird thing is I use to stress when I had car trouble, but now when it happens I see the glass half full by thinking "well at least I can catch up with Matt and see how everything is". I would give more stars if I could. The garage is in a plaza and may be hard to find due to the proximity of multiple competitor mechanics in the area. A bonus is that you can drop off your car off-hours through a mail slot. I chose this place because I have an 87' Volvo 240, and I wanted to find a trusted mechanic that specifically knows Volvos. Matt is definitely the guy. Explained the issues to me in a clear manner and was extremely responsive to my questions. Did not push any services on me whatsoever, which meant he was essentially losing money. I will definitely come back if there are any future problems.
