I was Dr. Graves patient for several years . At the beginning, she is very charming but also tries to charge you for any rework due to poor workmanship from her office. She tries to cover up by telling that you are getting an upgrade at no extra cost; however, she never admits any wrongdoing. CAUTION - READ BEFORE YOU GO: Dr. Graves seems to be a good doctor; however, their operations has a lot to be desired. Regardless of what they say, they are out-of-network dentist and expensive. They will mislead you about insurance coverage. For example, they told me that annual cleaning and check-up was covered by my insurance at 100% but I ended up having to pay a few hundred dollars. Similarly, what they said and charged for other work. When I asked them why I was getting a bill for payment, they tried to blame the insurance company saying that they had checked with the insurance but now the insurance will only pay so much. I checked with the insurance company and they had not received any call from Dr. Graves office to check for my coverage. When I told Dr. Graves' folks, they said something to the effect, "Well, we really didn't check but we know that they will cover...." In doctor-patient relationship, mutual trust is so essential. SUGGESTION: If you do decide to go to them: · Ask them to give you a printed estimate of charges and your share of it. · Double check with the insurance company. · DO NOT sign the form that states that you will be responsible for all payments beyond the estimates given to you. read more

She, as a Dentist is good. Her front office staff lacks in communication and then won't own up to their errors. Make sure you know that your insurance, no matter what they tell you, is OUT OF NETWORK. Be prepared to be billed for 200+ for a basic cleaning and that is AFTER your ins. pays. I believe she needs to provide more training in communication for her front office staff. Highly disappointed and totally misled. I have been a patient of Dr. Graves since she bought out this practice several years ago from Dr. Bolen, who had been my dentist for many, many years. I always knew I was getting great dental care from him, but I have found that Dr. Graves has taken it to a whole new level! It is true that all insurance plans are considered out-of-network with Dr. Graves' office, but they have always been upfront about that with me. They will file a claim with certain plans, however. When our family's insurance options changed a few years back, I elected to pay out-of-pocket rather than leave her practice. I love how she and her staff know me and care about me as an individual. This year, against my better judgment, I went ahead and got added to my husband's DMO plan. I found what I thought was an acceptable alternative through some (now questionable) reviews on Yelp. I visited another practice earlier this year for a routine cleaning, but after my experience there and seeing the vast difference in quality of care that she provides over others out there, I am back. After this other office tried to sell me a bogus treatment plan which was going to cost me more out-of-pocket than the annual cost of being on this crappy DMO, I knew there was something really wrong with this picture. I immediately called up Dr. Graves' office and told them what had happened. Dr. Graves was so gracious in providing me with a thorough second opinion. I have never before been so impressed by one's commitment to exceptional care, as her office takes great pride in delivering. The time she took to go over my dental history in-depth beforehand; her generosity in seeing me and doing her own x-rays at no charge, and her professionalism in the situation--she never said anything negative about the other doctor even though she could dispel the myths he had told me; and her down-to-earth honesty has won me over again. I will gladly pay out-of-pocket for Dr. Graves' exceptional care rather than pay even more for shoddy work "covered by my insurance" any day. A routine cleaning without x-rays and with no insurance runs about $160. I know because I had the work done this week. That is so worth it when you think about the quality of care you will receive, the warm and caring demeanor of Dr. Graves and all of her staff, the comfort of her office and the peace of mind knowing you have a truly AMAZING dentist taking care of you. Well, I don't have much good to say about my one and only visit to Dr. Graves. First off, I was under the impression that they were in network with my dental insurance, Humana. After a routine cleaning, I got a bill for over $100 (after insurance payment). Come to find out, after the fact, that they do accept Humana, but as an OUT of NETWORK provider. So, I ended up paying more for a simple routine cleaning, with insurance, than I would have at some other place if I simply paid out of pocket. I think this is very unfair, and the staff needs to be more up front and transparent that they are either IN NETWORK or OUT of NETWORK. A little shady, if you ask me.
