First, let me start off by saying I don't typically like going to the dentist...Well no one really does ;) I moved to Austin in 2010 and never went to the dentist for a few years ( I know that is bad but I haven't had much luck finding good physicians here in Austin) So, one of my teeth had broken and I now NEEDED to find a dentist! I spoke to my co-worker about who her dentist was and she recommended StarLight Dental! I'm not going to lie, I was super nervous when I went in to get my broken tooth repaired. As soon as I met Dr. Cody and Dr. Kip my anxiety started to go down... they both are so incredibly welcoming and very nice. They were extremely understanding that I was nerved up and offered me sunglasses for that crazy bright light that you have to look in to when they lean you back, as well as, they offered me a blanket! I loved it! Very understanding when they started my Root Canal that I was nerved up and they explained everything they were doing so I knew what to expect. So incredibly professional, kind, understanding, patient, quick, empathetic, welcoming, pleasurable, great bed-side manner AND all three doctors remember things I have told them from previous visits and ask me about it on the next visit! TOO COOL! I don't feel like I can't ask them questions; they are so wonderful! I love all three Dentists: Dr. Bob, Dr. Kip and Dr. Cody--All are truly AMAZING at what they do! The Doctors/ Dentists aside, the Dental Hygienist, Nicole, is AWESOME as well! She has cleaned my teeth every time I have gone in for cleanings and let me say she is light to the touch (no pain) but VERY diligent and pays attention to detail. She has good tips on flossing and how to get your toothbrush to those hard to reach places! She is very kind and super nice. All of THAT ASIDE: You have got to see the office decorations! Dr. Bob decorated the entire office by himself, he has quite the knack for it and it shows! It looks like they hired a professional interior designer! There are Stars throughout the entire office in different nooks and crannies and each room with a dental chair has a different theme to it! They are all great, my favorite is the room that looks out on the bird feeders. I want to take them all to Michigan with me! My husband and I are moving to MI in a few months and I don't want to see anyone else for my teeth necessities! 100%

They shaved down one of my teeth causing an excess of food to get stuck between that and another tooth causing me pain and frequent infections. The tooth they rebuilt is literally chipping away constantly. The one I had before stayed in tact for 15 years while whatever they did lasted me 2 weeks before it started failing. To top it all off, I continuously get harassed about paying a bill that I already paid! I confirmed in person during my final visit that I was paid in full, yet they continue to bother me. Erica, my hygienist, educated me on my gum health, and noticed signs of wear on my teeth due to clenching; which I imagine I do when I'm sleeping. Erica took photos of each tooth, measured my gums, and validated that my oral hygiene practices at home are on par. During my examination, we saw signs of decay, and there was enough time in the schedule for me to start the process of placing a crown on my tooth. From the moment Dr. James numbed me to the moment my temporary crown was placed, I was treated with the utmost care. The team remembered my son, who visited not too long ago, and were as joyful and relatable as can be. They even offered me a cozy blanket during my procedure! I mean, who does that? Pecan Park Family Dentistry does! All in all, though it was my first time at their practice, I was made to feel like family. The person I spoke to, Miranda while very sweet seemed flustered at all my questions on the phone and rushed me off deferring me to get a call back. I get it, the office was likely busy but ...don't offer a call back that you can't follow through on! I emailed back and forth a couple times regarding the call back within the span of a week's time and, after being told they were about to call that Friday morning and then they never did, I just let it go. Not that important. It seems like the best deal in town but, I started to think that maybe you get what you pay for and, while I'm sure the one Dentist here is very experienced and they stay very busy, I'd be concerned about the quality of care considering how they handled me on the phone. The second person I booked with was more patient and we I actually got confirmation texts and emails unlike the first attempt with Miranda. She also helped me cancel with no question or issue. I just can't take a gamble on my teeth no matter how tempting the pricing might be. I just found Austin Dental Spa. I called on Wednesday, and Emily was able to get me in right away. She sent my forms via text. She verified my insurance, it was a go. Easy to find, plenty of parking. Emily greeted me with such warmth, and genuine kindness. I was promptly taken to my exam room. Within the next two hours I had X-rays, 3D scan, talked treatment plan, my old bridge removed, wisdom tooth extracted, permanent crown replaced, RX sent to my pharmacy, paid my deductible, and was on my way home.
