Oh my gosh, If I could give these folks 100 Stars .... I would! I LOVE EVERYONE at Starlight…read moreDental! First, let me start off by saying I don't typically like going to the dentist...Well no one really does ;) I moved to Austin in 2010 and never went to the dentist for a few years ( I know that is bad but I haven't had much luck finding good physicians here in Austin) So, one of my teeth had broken and I now NEEDED to find a dentist! I spoke to my co-worker about who her dentist was and she recommended StarLight Dental! I'm not going to lie, I was super nervous when I went in to get my broken tooth repaired. As soon as I met Dr. Cody and Dr. Kip my anxiety started to go down... they both are so incredibly welcoming and very nice. They were extremely understanding that I was nerved up and offered me sunglasses for that crazy bright light that you have to look in to when they lean you back, as well as, they offered me a blanket! I loved it! Very understanding when they started my Root Canal that I was nerved up and they explained everything they were doing so I knew what to expect. So incredibly professional, kind, understanding, patient, quick, empathetic, welcoming, pleasurable, great bed-side manner AND all three doctors remember things I have told them from previous visits and ask me about it on the next visit! TOO COOL! I don't feel like I can't ask them questions; they are so wonderful! I love all three Dentists: Dr. Bob, Dr. Kip and Dr. Cody--All are truly AMAZING at what they do! The Doctors/ Dentists aside, the Dental Hygienist, Nicole, is AWESOME as well! She has cleaned my teeth every time I have gone in for cleanings and let me say she is light to the touch (no pain) but VERY diligent and pays attention to detail. She has good tips on flossing and how to get your toothbrush to those hard to reach places! She is very kind and super nice. All of THAT ASIDE: You have got to see the office decorations! Dr. Bob decorated the entire office by himself, he has quite the knack for it and it shows! It looks like they hired a professional interior designer! There are Stars throughout the entire office in different nooks and crannies and each room with a dental chair has a different theme to it! They are all great, my favorite is the room that looks out on the bird feeders. I want to take them all to Michigan with me! My husband and I are moving to MI in a few months and I don't want to see anyone else for my teeth necessities! 100%

I knew from a previous dentist that the tooth in question would one day need a root canal. Dr Davis confirmed this. At this point I thought I was going to be told to grab some pain meds and come back. Even though most of the office had left Dr Davis told me he wasn't going to let me leave in pain. I was very grateful for this. It's also worth mentioning that I'm not a good dental patient. I have a fear of being numb. Dr Davis came up with a solution where he just numbed the tooth and not my entire mouth. He was very easy to talk to and was very willing to accommodate me. Dr. Davis also used a rubber dam. This is the first time a dentist has used this on me. I will now request this every time I have work done as it prevents all materials from entering the rest of the mouth. I've swallowed dental chemicals in the past (easy to do when you're laying down and have your mouth propped open). I'm now offended that my previous dentists didn't care enough to use this device.

I had a couple of wisdom teeth removed with deep cleaning. To my surprise, what I thought was just the deep cleaning was both the cleaning and teeth removal! I couldn't believe it. I didn't feel a thing and he wasn't jerking and pulling like another dentist did years ago! Dr. Delius is amazing and his staff is brilliant. They are all educated and trained on each job function in operating a smooth front and back office, so you can ask any one of them a question and they will easily assist you. On your way out, you might want to stop into the bathroom as it's the nicest bathroom in town. Another 5-stars! My mother always said that you can tell a business by how they keep their bathroom. What a treat. I really enjoyed going to the dentist for the first time in my life (sort of). I just hope they will want to keep me as a client? Here's to you Dr. Delius and your qualified staff....thank you for taking such good care of me. Jennifer xxox

Erica, my hygienist, educated me on my gum health, and noticed signs of wear on my teeth due to clenching; which I imagine I do when I'm sleeping. Erica took photos of each tooth, measured my gums, and validated that my oral hygiene practices at home are on par. During my examination, we saw signs of decay, and there was enough time in the schedule for me to start the process of placing a crown on my tooth. From the moment Dr. James numbed me to the moment my temporary crown was placed, I was treated with the utmost care. The team remembered my son, who visited not too long ago, and were as joyful and relatable as can be. They even offered me a cozy blanket during my procedure! I mean, who does that? Pecan Park Family Dentistry does! All in all, though it was my first time at their practice, I was made to feel like family. Like I was being taken care of by my girlfriends, and I am beyond grateful to have crossed paths with them!

After more than 10 years with this practice, I'm incredibly disappointed to be writing this…read more I'm autistic, and like many neurodivergent people, I struggle with scheduling and making it to appointments. I want to be clear: I am already deeply aware of this, and I feel embarrassed and awful when it happens. Nothing feels worse than standing at the garage door with my keys in hand, frozen, shaking, overwhelmed, and filled with guilt. This isn't carelessness or laziness, it's something I actively work to manage. I also understand that missed appointments affect a business, and I am willing to accept financial penalties when appropriate. I appreciate that Pecan Park Dental has waived some missed appointment fees for me in the past. However, my most recent experience felt shaming and dismissive of my disability, and I left in tears. The morning of a scheduled appointment, I was called and told my insurance would not cover the visit because I had hit my maximum. I was told I would need to pay $540 out of pocket for a routine cleaning. I could not afford that and chose to reschedule for a future date when my insurance would cover it. At that time, I was told I would still be charged a $100 late cancellation fee, even though this cost was only communicated to me the morning of the appointment. When I returned months later for the rescheduled visit, I tried to explain that this situation resulted from an insurance and communication issue. Instead of working with me, I was repeatedly pressured in the waiting room to pay the $100 fee. I explained multiple times that I did not have the money that day. I was asked for credit card information over and over, in front of my daughter and other patients. It was humiliating. I ended up crying in the office while still being asked for payment. When I later tried to explain the situation, I was sent a chart of my missed appointments. It felt less like an attempt to understand and more like an effort to reinforce guilt. That approach isn't helpful, it adds to the shame and makes it even harder to access care. Experiences like this are exactly why many neurodivergent people avoid healthcare altogether. It becomes easier to avoid appointments than to face anxiety, shame, and financial penalties. I don't believe this is about bad intent, but it reflects a system that prioritizes policies and revenue over patient-centered care and basic compassion. After more than a decade as a loyal patient, and bringing multiple family members to this practice, I expected more understanding and professionalism. Because of this experience, I will be moving my care, along with my family's care, to a different provider. I hope this practice reflects on how it communicates with and supports patients, especially those with anxiety, autism, or other neurodivergent needs. No patient should be made to feel this way while seeking care

My initial consultation with Dr. Bob was informative and didn't feel at all like the usual dentist sales pitch. I could tell that Dr. Bob genuinely cared, even though he just met me. He took the time to explain to me exactly why my caps needed to be replaced, showing me x-rays and pictures of the area. I went back a few months after my initial consultation to have the work done (once my new insurance kicked in) and couldn't have been happier with my visit. The work took a few hours, but flew by mainly because of how nice he and his staff are. My dental assistant was Sara and she was friendly and talkative, even asking me several times if I was comfortable and wanted any water. Throughout the process, Dr. Bob explained exactly what he was doing every step of the way. It might sound silly, but I felt like I was being educated, rather than just sitting there bored. I would highly recommend Dr. Bob as he is by far the best dentist I have had in my 30+ years of dental work.

The results are noticeable and long-lasting, and the process was comfortable and professional from start to finish. Their sweet RDA, Sara, was incredibly helpful, patient, and thorough!! What really sets this office apart is how attentive and proactive they are. During my last cleaning with Jordan (who is an extraordinary hygienist, btw,) I mentioned that I had recently learned I have sleep apnea and that a C-PAP machine wasn't a good fit for me.
