Jabul was one of the most helpful people we encountered in Denver. The service he gave us was amazing. We were not sure if we were going to make it back in time before he closed so we could drop our bikes off but he told us he'd stay a bit later just to let us return them. He even gave us his mobile phone number so we could contact him. I would definitely come back to this place whenever I come back to Denver. The rates were not too bad. $65 for renting a mountain bike and $40 for renting a bike rack. I was really satisfied with my experience at this shop and I highly recommend it!! read more

Awesome place. Called before hand to see if they could help with a repair on my road bike. They said bring it in, should be a quick fix. Came in with the tension in my rear derailleur messed up from my move to Colorado. Nice shop with a good selection of bikes. I chose to test ride one and it was looked over by the mechanic before taking it out. The pedal fell off while I was out of the saddle and I nearly went face first into the street. When I came back into the shop I was told "don't worry about it." Anatomy of a Cycleton Tune. Get tune-up and forget to order part that was reason for said tune-up. Then order wrong part but say bike would be OK to ride. Ride bike and get stranded due to now broken part (free-wheel hub). Do get loaner wheel, but then have to pay for new part. It wasn't a lot but after dropping $300 on tune, new tubes and tires the right thing to do is to comp the $17 for the hub. And no call from the owner! Experience is dripping with Fail-Sauce! I can't comment on the sales, deals, pricing. I can't comment on the service. I can't do these things because Cycleton does not do tune ups on weekends. That's fine if you give that information out freely. Instead I foolishly bought a Groupon that had no limitations on days for servicing, I checked Cycleton's website that tells of no limitations on servicing days, but when i called to set up an appointment? "Nothing we can do for you, we didn't give that information and we wont honor the deal as written". How could this be avoided? Put the info on your webpage! i guess i'll have to go somewhere else. 1 star for not being upfront or accommodating, I'm not the only one that called in with that issue. read more

Everyone working there was very nice, and I did not feel like they were trying to sell me more than I needed. Great neighborhood shop in Stapleton. They do a great job of serving the wide ranging needs of the customer base. They have basic parts and service for a majority of the residents in the area, a good selection of kids bikes, but most importantly for me; they have all of the pro level road equipment that I need. I recently bought both a bike for my 5 year old as well as a new road bike for myself. They were thorough and helpful in both instances. I called to rent a road bike for a friend coming to visit from out of state. I specified a 56 and picked it up, unfortunately when I got it home my friend realized it was a 54. So back we went to the shop, this time we got the right size but when we started riding there were mechanical problems which my friend had to fix. The bike was a Specialized, good bike, but the shops attention to detail certainly leaves much to be desired. read more

I wanted to find a local bikeshop that was in the neighborhood at first to just service my bikes, get supplies, etc. I went on Yelp and searched the area. As is typical with Yelp reviews. there's always some people that leave negative reviews, so it's hard to judge what your experience might be like. I went in to look at a road bike, and found them very helpful, let me take out and ride several bikes. I went to a few other shops in the area to compare other brands, etc. When it came down to it, Cycleton was the most helpful, and had the bike that I liked the best. After buying the bike, they've made adjustments for me, fixed a flat I got out on a ride and hooked me up with accessories and put them on the bike. Great local shop! read more

Avoid their shop. Whoever they let true wheels is a complete idiot and I am aware of at least 3 wheels they have ruined. In my case, no offer to replace what they broke, not even an apology, just a clueless look. Their rates for other services are well beyond nearby shops. I would recommend Denver Bike which is just down the street as an alternative. As for bike purchases, I watched as they ripped off a neighbor selling him last years bike at a "discount" that amounted to them marking the bike up 300 dollars over retail and then "discounting" it those same 300 dollars. This is my neighborhood bike shop. Their bike selection is pretty good, but also has inflated price tags. The staff seems to turn over quite regularly. I've spent hundreds of dollars in repair and maintenance of bikes. They're very nice when you plunk down a card and pay whatever they charge you. When you ask too many questions, the service techs seem to get irritated, instead of teaching....this is not a pleasant customer experience. The reason for no stars comes from a recent experience. I was looking to buy the most expensive bike stand in the store. When I went to purchase it, the sales associate picked up the display model and wanted to sell it to me. I was concerned the warranty might be voided or began to run since the unit was actively being used in store and holding bikes, the sales associate began being curt. I asked them to just order me a new one in box from the manufacturer, who was in the same state. They said it would take 2 weeks and I would be charged a shipping charge. I told them I would happily just go to the manufacturer location and pick it up directly. They told me the manufacturer does not sell directly to customers. It was very uncomfortable, but I told them I was not comfortable buying the display model. They seemed irritated when I refused to buy the display model at full price, and I'd bet I was the subject of some follow-up comments. I went home, got on Amazon and bought the rack NEW directly from the manufacturer for cheaper than the store price. I also got free shipping and the rack arrives in 2 days. read more

This shop is only a few blocks from our house, so when it was time to buy a bike for our daughter a few years ago, we decided to give them a try. There are definitely cheaper options in town, especially if you aren't looking for a high end bike, but we wanted to support a neighborhood business if possible. They sold us on their trade-in program for kids bikes, and set us up with a decent used bike for our daughter. Probably spent a few dollars more than we would have at the bigger shops, but it saved us a drive and we like buying locally. Everything seemed great... ...until our daughter outgrew her bike and it was time to trade it in for a new one. Now the sales rep can't find our name in their system, and tells us he can't do a trade in without a record of our purchase. Not a big deal, as I'm pretty sure I have the receipt at home. But as we tell him our story (hoping to avoid a walk back home to dig up the receipt) he informs us that it wouldn't matter anyway, because if we purchased a used bike then it wouldn't be eligible for the trade in program. Only bikes purchased new would be eligible. Huh??? First of all, one of the deciding factors in us purchasing the bike was that they told us we could trade it in when she outgrew it. We knew this would be the first of several bikes as she got older, and liked the simplicity of going to our local bike shop. But regardless of the false information given to us at the time of purchase, how can you have a trade in program that doesn't accept bikes that were purchased used? Apparently, only people who purchase new bikes are eligible for the trade in program now. If you purchase a used bike from them, you'll have to sell it on your own. The final straw was the attitude that we received. It was obvious from the minute that we walked in that they had more important things to do (more expensive bikes and service to sell) than to deal with a kid's bike trade in, and when we explained that we had been told very explicitly that we could trade the bike in when our daughter outgrew it, the sales guy couldn't care less and gave us a condescending attitude as if we were stupid for believing the original sales pitch. I realize that the profit margins on a kids bike are pretty slim when compared to the $3K-$10K bikes that are out there, but as an outfit that is trying to be the neighborhood bike shop, it might be wise to remember that a large percentage of the neighborhood consists of kids, and those kids will eventually grow into bigger and more expensive bikes if they have a positive experience with the sport. On a side note, we immediately went to another shop in Denver to search for a new bike, and the experience, prices and customer service were exponentially better than the attitude we received at Cycleton. In fact, my wife and I decided that it was time for both of us to upgrade our own bikes as well! It's sad that a large, corporate retailer took better care of us than our local shop. After the experience that we had, I will not buy so much as a tube from Cycleton, even if it means having to ride or drive across town. What a shame. read more

There is a great selection of all ranges and types of Specialized bikes BUT not anyone there to care enough about the customer to help you properly. I have been here several times and tried to make this place be my main shop but it is awful. They care more about there cycling team and catering to their needs rather than customers. Absolutely no sense of who their audience is and as long as they can sell you the most expensive product they feel they have done their due diligence. I recommend Turin Bicycles LTD if you want Specialized if not any other bike shop in Denver has better folks to help you fit your needs. read more

He recommended a much smaller adjustment that helped my shifting tremendously. They won a customer by being honest and professional. read more

Love this place! A friend recommended Cycleton after getting fit for a new saddle and absolutely loved the results. I was having some fit issues after changing my saddle a few months prior and scheduled a full-on bike fit (first ever) and was super impressed. Great investment. I didn't feel pressured to buy anything unnecessary - some key recommendations were made about saddle style (which made sense why I was so uncomfortable on previous saddle), along with some much needed shoe inserts and a stem change, which has made a world of difference. I live in Michigan and needed a bike to ride in the Iron Horse Classic from Durango to Silverton. I found Cycleton through a online search and reserved a Specialized Tarmac Expert a few weeks before my Trip to Colorado. When I arrived the bike was clean, tuned and ready to roll. I went to cycleton in Stapleton today to fill my tires with the free air pump outside the store. I very help employee came out to ensure I knew how to operate the pump which I indicated I did. After declining help, I proceeded to over fill my tire and explode the tube. The same nice gentleman came back out to assist me and proceeded to replace my tube right then. Great shop, probably the best in the Denver area. I purchased four bikes from them in the past 12 months - two for me and one each for my son and daughter. Russell and the guys there are always friendly and knowledgeable. I just took my road bike in for what I thought would be a tune and they adjusted the cables and front and rear derailleur and sent me on my way within 15 minutes. gosh all of the reviews are so nice, glowing -- so mine is likely an outlier ! or "out liar" (in other words, pay no attention to this post) unfortunately, my experience while visiting with my 5 year daughter was not so special, very ho hum (following a 30 minute bike ride from s. park hill near colorado bloc). granted we were only there for 5 minutes, but that was only because there was really not much mojo to speak of going on there. We'll chalk it up to anomaly and will certainly give them another chance, but this first visit was a real dud. Nice looking shop and great location, yes, if a bit pricey at first glance (no I'm not a competing bike shop owner or customer :) All that said, m daughter did request a pack of Clif BLOKS. When we walked up to the counter, the manager and a staff member were deeply engrossed in a catalog or price book or something. Out of curiosity we waited quietly to see how long it might take for eye contact, perhaps a "be right with you" --- nada. Geez guys, better, gotta be better for my money, not to mention the little bit extra it appears we'd have to dispense in order to walk out with our product of choice.
