A bit of a wait but I figured I'd still have it for the worst part of winter. Got a couple of texts and emails leading up to the delivery date. On the expected date of delivery by 1100 AM I figured I'd call for a specific time. They couldn't help me other than to say it wasn't coming that day. I begrudgingly rescheduled for 02/14/26, got the requisite texts and emails excitedly prepping me for the upcoming delivery date. Today at around 4 PM I received a call telling me that I would have to reschedule again due to shipping issues. I canceled my order at that point. They obviously don't need my business. Looked like a quality product but alas I will never know. I wish I could give less than one star.

So I switched to the app one at $25 a month and now no longer have access to the analytics on the bike. I have no idea what speed what resistance and how many miles I have gone. I have a non-peloton rowing machine and treadmill, and I am able to follow along with the analytics on those machine when I take rowing classes and tread classes using the same Peleton app. Peloton is doing their customers customers, a Significant disservice by not allowing access to the analytics on the bike when using their app and their bike shame on them. I recommend to everyone, don't buy a Peleton bike, buy a genetic, cheaper bike and you'll have more success with the Peleton app which is a great fitness app.

They have a great variety of classes and times. my favorites are Strength: Full Body and Yoga Sculpt. At Wellesley I've only gone to Kate, Carolina, & Cams classes but they've all been incredible instructors. Love the dark, color-changing studio, comfy mats, and well-stocked bathrooms. Front desk staff is always SO nice too! Highly recommend!!

PRE-CLASS: I booked via ClassPass and they automatically slot you into one of the four front-most bikes closest to the instructor. Thinking that the spots would be way too close to the speakers, I opted for something a little further away in the first row. Shout-out to the wonderful girl working the front desk on Saturday morning, who helped me set up my bike to the right seat and handlebar height and also got me a pair of shoes when the pair I brought (SPD-SL) turned out to not be compatible with the pedals. CLASS: Pretty standard cycling class, heavy on the choreography. It took me a good chunk of the class to be able to follow along and try to match the moves with the beat, but it's also totally fine to just pedal without the moves. (That said, if you're more accustomed to outdoor cycling with greater resistance, the super high cadences where you're essentially bouncing up and down in your seat is going to feel extremely silly.) A much bigger issue: the music is SO loud. Like painfully, blasting loud. Next time, I'm going to bring ear plugs. INSTRUCTOR: I liked the playlist and I thought Allie did a good job of mixing up the various cadences. Also seriously impressed by how much time she spent on the bike with us while shouting encouragement and cues - I was out of breath just following along. Lots of regulars. I was a newbie and not expecting her to go out of her way to say hi, especially when the class was crowded, but at one point she asked, a few minutes into class, if anyone was new and one person raised their hand and ... that was it. COMPETITIVE: Nope. The bikes don't even have the monitors showing RPM, time, or distance, so you can truly zone out. On the other hand, if you're into stats or tracking progress other than by feel, this was an obvious absence. FACILITIES: Lockers, with cubbies to put your shoes. I counted four showers with toiletries. However, the place on a weekend morning was an absolute zoo with multiple classes starting/ending at the same time. I imagine there would've been a line for a shower and opted for a stinky, sweaty car ride back home. PARKING: Lots of street options and, right behind the studio, the Waban Street parking lot, with dirt-cheap parking. Download the Passport app so you can pay w/o quarters. OVERALL: 9/10. Good for beginners and regulars alike. If you're at all self-conscious of the dance moves, the bikes in the back row are a good idea (but more importantly, no one is paying attention to anything except themselves so you might as well have fun).

It's a franchise and each location has its quirks. If you have never done reformer pilates - TAKE YOUR TIME. It can be intimidating. Once I got myself into the studio, it was an interesting experience from there. Expect everyone to be delicately lean and know what they are doing (to a fault) when it comes to pilates. Other skills... well, we all are different. As a latino, I felt odd. As a 12 year zumba instructor, a lot of the mechanics were second nature to me, albeit the instructor for the day tried a "little too hard. Kudos for keeping safety at the forefront. It's not cheap, so if you are looking for price, this isn't the place for you. Given the drive and off of Route 9 (MY NEMESIS), I have some considerations. But I'd like to at least try the 4 pack one on one training sessions to get into the groove and see if this is something I can commit to longer term. As with any other program - work your way into it, unless you are one of the young superfreaks of nature (me, 35 years ago!). Pilates can be a gentle and effective way to strengthen, tone and lengthen, improving posture, balance and overall functional fitness activities (aka life in general). I have mixed feelings but I wasn't totally put off (chime in here F45 Wakeforest, NC area...). It's a logistics thing. If you are mainstream, middle income - you'll find yourself a great place to take your fitness to a new challenged.

I attended an intro class, so the instructor essentially shows you all the basics of the reformer as well as some ground exercises. Tammy, my instructor, was condescending and rude. What?!? This location has a lot of members who takeover a weight machine and areas for 10 minutes removing the machine from other member's usage. The staff apparently allows this to happen without stopping the behavior. Jan2023: 4: I could recommend this location on this day. I believe this location could compete with the big brand name fitness facilities in the nearby area. I decided to try a new fitness center location since I was near where my family member lives and goes to the medical center. This one was the closest one within 3 mi of the medical appointment location. It was seemingly attached to another business at the front door and that business seems to be attached to another food business out front of the complex. The business is located within a small mall set off the main one lane highway adjacent to a major auto repair store. The front of the building is well marked but is clearly visible from the street. I did note that there was available handicap parking adjacent to the front of the entrance and convenient for entry into the facility. There are plenty of regular parking spots available in the immediate area. There were not enough workers at the front door. Some were fairly attentive and others were too distracted upon entry into the facility to the point of not even saying anything upon entering. The facility circles around to several workout areas for use. The heavyweights are not near the front door and the machine weights are off to the left after entering the facility. It is on one level with no stairs. The whole center area is dedicated to the treadmills, bicycles, and stair aerobics type machines. When I checked the men's locker room, I found that the area was clean. There were no broken lockers in the facility with the faces torn off, although several of the lock circles were broken. The shower areas and the dressing room areas were clean, operational, and available when I checked. All of the showers appear to be functional and clean. I checked the black card area and I saw no out of order signs on any of the equipment. There were several out of order signs on the other central equipment. Several of the machine weights need to be adjusted and calibrated accordingly. They had a worker out making adjustments and cleaning equipment when I was there in the facility. The hydro bed they have available is a flat type. There is a small cooler at the front door across from the entry desk.

I've recently been to a couple of heated yoga studios, and they were not as hot as this one...I'm guessing 92-94 degrees. Now, if I'm just a wimp, that's fine. Anyhow, the studio itself is a little hard to find (its entrance is really on Church St, the street behind Central), but it's spacious enough. I was underwhelmed by the enthusiasm of the girl checking me in; she didn't really welcome me and then asked if I needed anything without even telling me the general direction in which I'd find the studio, restrooms, etc. I did notice the sign advertising a cost of $1 to fill your water bottle with poland spring bubbler water, so I made my way to the bathroom and used the tap. Other fancy waters are on offer, and they rent mats, towels, and Yogitoes (which was cool). I attended Pilar's 90 minute power class, and she was good about talking us through class but spent a lot of time talking about the heat and how we should push through it....which only reminded me that my ass was sweating off and I was hopefully losing tons of water weight. We ran through a handful of sun salutations and some other standing poses and balances, and then focused on back bending and stretching- similar to the 'en vogue' power classes I've experienced at Prana Power. Not bad, but I wasn't able to focus as well as I usually can for some reason. Also noticed pilates stations(?) and a sauna on my way in. Based on my experience, I'd recommend getting here at least 10 minutes early to grab a good spot. Also worth noting we started about five minutes late, but came out about 15 minutes over...so you are definitely getting your full 90 minutes. Mehhhh.

This is a fairly small local place but is in clean decent shape. They do have up to date equipment and offer some good classes. The spin classes in the morning at 6 are full with a wait list. Although it is hard to get in the fact that it is full speaks for itself. I myself haven't taken a class and am thinking about it but augh 6 am to be on a bike. These folks really mean it! I come here mainly on weekends, when my home Y closes way the heck too early (4pm vs 7pm here)…read more I'd say that about 70-80% of their equipment is fine. Lots of free weights and strength machines. The highlight is the huge, high-ceilinged (30-40ft?) functional fitness space that features a turf area, a sled, kettlebells, plyo boxes, plyo smash balls, a do-it-all calisthenics multi-station that includes weighted pulleys, dip and pullup and monkey bars, a free hanging real boxing bag (nice angled uppercut bag that's just the right weight to make you "dance" to avoid the swing back, yet forgiving enough that you can punch it without gloves without risking a broken wrist or bruised knuckles), a pair of Assault bikes and treadmills, a Concept rower, some meh Schwinn stationary bikes (more on that later), and two full squat cages with plenty of plates and barbells. So, what about the other 20-30%, you ask? Well, their cardio machines range from so-so to unusably lousy. All the treadmills are Precor, which are a clear step down from the Life Fitness TMs most Ys have: smaller uglier fuzzy screens with spotty internet connection that can freeze up in the middle of a workout, noisier and less stable platform. The stationary bikes are a mix of Precor (typical mediocre gym bike with crap ergonomics where you feel like you're on a creaky toy bike pedaling against some barbaric pad not magnetic resistance) and Espresso (video-gaming type bike clearly designed to seduce ADD teenagers or lazy af adults) and the horrible Schwinn bikes (just as bad as most home exercise bikes, you can understand why people mostly use them as clothes hangers). Please please please can you guys get at least a few KEISER bikes? We know you can have decent taste in cardio machines because you kept your CONCEPT rowers instead of choosing some oversized gym-brand rowers which look impressive but have similarly lousy ergonomics. Oh and they have non-mechanical Assault brand treadmills which nobody uses because they are brutal on the knees, too narrow and unstable. I don't know who was in charge of choosing the cardio equipment, but that person needs to be put to work cleaning the bathrooms or something more appropriate! The other major gripe I have is their sauna --- it's spacious and new and pretty, but who in the hell decided to have only ONE row of seating? Completely idiotic, folks: did you not pass seventh grade Life Science, where they teach you that heat RISES, and that's why all real saunas have TWO levels of seating, with the 2nd one being a good 4-5 feet off the ground so that you get the full benefit of the heat in the room? Here you have to STAND on the damned low benches if you want to get a decent sweat in ... the sauna thermometer reads 170F but if you're sitting down you'd be lucky to get 140-150F, which is useless. (The sauna of the Melrose YMCA has the same idiotic mistake.) So, while I'm grateful that this Y offers me decent hours to work out on weekends making the long drive out there worthwhile, their cardio machines selection and sauna design really really need a rethink.
