Want to send a BIG shoutout to Hunter and Lindsay. I bought a helmet last week that was recommended by a few people on the forums. Hunter said I may not be happy with it per his expertise, but still got me fitted and finished the purchase. I did go home and try it out and was definitely not impressed. Not to say the helmet was bad, but for what I needed, it did not do the trick. I contacted Lindsay at the store and asked if I could exchange and upgrade. She told me sure! And made the process super simple. When I came in the store, both hunter and Lindsay jumped right on the task. One was getting my Cardo installed. The other was putting on the pin locks and talking me through maintenance. It feels like I was in and out within minutes; when I thought the whole process would be an hour. Every time I go in to this location, the team is spot on Tyler runs a good ship there and I am very impressed all the years I've been going there. But what I thought was going to be a stressful morning, turned out to be a breeze thanks to Hunter and Lindsay!!! Top notch service as always!!! read more

I'm thankful for this place and the employees. They are always helpful and they don't rush you or pressure you into anything. I'm very indecisive and they never show any frustration even though they may be! The place has good prices and the clearance rack has good deals! The employees are knowledgeable about their products. Went to the Raleigh location for the first time today and had a really unfortunate experience. One of the staff members not only hesitated to answer me with a simple "yes" when I asked him if I could ask a question, but also left me waiting for him to check on the inventory of an item and never cared about actually doing it. Despite the great job they do on their website, with informative product review videos and all, I left the store with no intentions to ever come back. I hope other customers have a different and better experience than I had. read more

This Cycle Gear review will contrast pleasantly with the review I just wrote about Ray Price Harley Davidson. The folks at Cycle Gear ride. A lot. You know they're riders when you drive over in the pouring rain and see various staffer's bikes parked outside. When the guy working the cash register chats with you about which tires are harder to install than others because the beads are manufactured just a hair smaller (and he knows this because he's splitting his time between the register and the tire machine in the back). Sure, Cycle Gear gets its fair share of squids who ride those absurd Hayabusas with the LONG chrome swing arm and the skull cap helmet - and frankly, if I was in the motorcycle parts business, I'd happily take their money too. But Cycle Gear also sells stuff that the rest of us riders need; quality attire, a decent selection of maintenance and repair parts, tires (with installation if you so choose), and other little goodies that make your ride a happy one. Get on their mailing list and enjoy the savings from their regular coupons and mailings and close-out sales. There's some killer bargains to be had for the patient. read more

I visited them in January 2022 looking for ventilated motorcycle boots. The sales clerk went the extra mile trying to find the right size for the style I wanted. Not all boot makers have the same sizing methodology and it involved trying on several pairs to find the right size. Brands like Alpine Star run a lot smaller than I thought. I really put their clerk through the paces, and he didn't put any pressure on me. I'm glad Cycle Gear is around as I would really have effed up if I tried to buy boots myself online as my normal size 10 would have been way off. read more

I'm curious if this is the same CG other reviewer's are speaking of. Or if said reviewer's haven't had the pleasure of visiting a nice CG. Simply put; this CG sucks. But, let me be clear in stating it isn't the staff, just the physical store. CG seems to be pushing their house brand, Bilt, which is pretty crappy stuff. Long gone are the days of A*, Dainese, Joe Rocket and other top brands. The selection of anything other than Bilt is paltry to say the least. The helmet selection is also dismal, again, TONS of Bilt crap, but hardly any Shoei or Arai. No AGV, Suomy, etc. Boot selection? Crap. A few offerings from A*, but no Sidi, Dainese or other top players. But, hey, they have a sweet selection of leather chaps to match the saddle bags on your Harley. All in all, if you're a serious sportbike rider, not some squid on a candy painted Busa, looking for legit gear, look elsewhere. Or maybe go to a CG that caters to your crowd, this one certainly does not. read more

Great store! Mainly I love the service. Last week I blew a tire tube, called up before heading down there to make sure they had one in stock. Salesperson on the phone found it right away, put it on hold, I showed up an hour later and was ready to go with my new tube to throw on the rim. Courteous? I was on my way into work Friday night and stopped in to pick up the aforementioned inner tube and a few other things. The salesperson at the register noticed I was wearing my fire department shirt (as I was heading into work). Without mentioning anything, he rang up a 10% discount for Fire/Police/EMS that I wasn't even aware existed. Courteous? I'd say so! Knowledgeable? "What kind of synthetic 2-stroke should I use on my Honda SA50?" Without even batting an eye, the salesperson pointed me to the right product, I say "right" because I looked up the brand later on a few forums and they said he nailed it! Great stock, good atmosphere, knowledgeable employees. Sure, you could probably beat some of the prices by buying online, but don't forget to figure in shipping. And some things in life are much better picked up off a shelf, and the way this place is stocked with so many items sure makes me want to go in rather than surf for a better deal. read more

I visited Cycle Gear for the first time today for a tire repair. I have to say, these guys have some of the best customer service I've experienced in some time. I was welcomed when I came in, they seemed eager to help and I found their merchandise reasonably priced while I was shopping around waiting for the tire repair. Compared to the dealers, especially the Harley guys who are absolutely horrendous, these guys rock. I'm glad I have a local go to shop for my bike needs. Btw, getting a new tire installed tomorrow from these guys (the other one needed replacing). They are taking care of all my problems so I'll be ready to ride! read more

This is a motorcycle GEAR store just to be clear. It's not actually a dealer ,but that's the closest I could pick from Yelp's categories. Great place, they got just about everything you need if you ride a motorcycle. From Maps specifically made for motorcycles(waterproof,tearproof, big print), tank bags, saddlebags, WALLS of helmets, emergency tire kits, they seriously got it all. If you got a bike in the Triangle area, you OWE it yourself to come here and check it out. This place is like motorcycle heaven. read more

I have shopped at this CycleGear once before. I actually purchased my first set of cycle apparel from here which I had the pleasure of crash testing back in '07. On this occasion I wasn't going in for something specific, but was just browsing with some friends. It can be a little overwhelming when you first enter with the vast selection of merchandise. As mentioned by another reviewer, it is true that they do carry the exclusive Cycle Gear brands, Bilt and Sedici, whose quality and value is very similar to the national brand ICON, but they also have mainstream brands like Alpinestars and Dainese. The staff was very pleasant and were riders like myself. They were willing just to hang out and talk bikes when no one else was in the store. They are also one of the few places that have the equipment to balance single sided swingarm wheels. Their tire selection was kind of weak and pricey but I have found that to be the case with all local brick and mortar shops. I find better tire deals online but I will have CG to mount and balance them for me. Cycle Gear is great for the person who would rather try on gear before they buy instead of running the risk of buying the wrong size online. Their prices are reasonable as well. read more

Went there yesterday, March 15, trying to find new helmets for the wife and I. Could not get much help. Seems two of the associates were locked in helping a pretty young lady find a helmet. I've always had a good experience here. Bought my first set of gear here, as well as a few emergency parts. I've mostly had the pleasure of dealing with Anthony, one of the sales associates. He really went above and beyond in getting me started with motorcycling. I got solid advice on gear, as well as buying proper tires, chain and sprockets. I think the best thing here is that the sales associates really know their stuff, and they engage on your level. They listen to what you already know, and build on that instead of always starting from ground level, which in my experience is fairly rare in retail. For the store overall, yeah you can save a little bit of money buying online, but the staff really sets this place above the rest, and you're guaranteed to get good, fitting gear. read more

I needed a front tire changed on my Yamaha R1 2011. I brought just the front wheel and the new tire only into the store for them to swap the old tire with the new one so I can save on dismounting and mounting ( I purchased the tire on a different store online). This is on a Sunday (most stores are closed on Sundays). They did the job in 1.5 hours and called me to pick it up. New valve stem and tire swap was 65 USD. read more
