If you need something off their shelves, you may consider it. For services such as installing tires, you should go to a place where your patronage is valued. The major issue with these brand stores, is that the personnel are just employees. They have no incentive or accountability, other than being nice. I ordered tires from Cycle Gear website, to be delivered to the store. On February 12th, I went to the store, to dropped my wheels. I paid for the installation in advance. I was told the wheels will be ready on February 17th, today at 12:00. As you guessed it, the wheels had still the old tires installed. The employee I spoke to was sorry, but at the end of the day, I drove there two times, removed my tires from my motorcycle for nothing. There is simply no process or system in place. No organization. The employee that brought the wheels back to me had no clue. At least they reimbursed me right away. Bottom line, if you need service, go to a store where the owners are going to want you back. Not Cycle Gear. The funny part is they attempted to have me take a membership, so I could get discounts!!! I would rather get quality and commitment, rather than promises!!! Kyra greeted us with a scowl then rudely pointed to the rear of the store to take our tire for repair. She was equally rude at the cash register. They lost a customer. Cycle Gear! Vet your employees hire people that are personable. The tire guy Daniel was the opposite. More than helpful. I purchased a Cardo packtalk pro and I installed it in my helmet rode with it twice and was not able to hear over the wind noise. They said when I brought it to them for suggestions and to review my settings, that there was nothing they could do and the only solution would be to buy a better helmet and to buy another mount kit for it, and move it. I told them that I liked my helmet and it fit me well and I didn't want to buy another helmet and they said they really didn't have any other options. Then I asked to return it and they said no and pointed me to their return policy saying that once it's opened they can't take it back. I will not be purchasing from them again. I'd have better support from an eBay seller. How was I supposed to know it wouldn't work without installing it and trying it first? read more

It's time to gear up for a new cycle... thankfully I don't mean elections (puke), I mean one of the best big box bike stores you'll find anywhere, and I'm including all the ones in Europe. My father is a bike shop guy, going way back, not anymore, he's retired, and that was in England, but I used to work in them as a kid and I know how it goes. How it goes is that most big bix stores are awful. This is anything but. This is a pretty amazing chain that I know from California, and having one here in Texas is great because it's probably a lot cheaper than most other cycle options, and it's also huge and they have everything and they're very friendly, so pretty much across the board it's a place that I would highly recommend you come for your bicycle needs. I usually try to come here when I need something, and although I prefer slightly smaller local stores, this one is definitely the best bang for your buck so to speak across the board. I purchased a helmet from the Katy store. After doing some research I decided I wanted a different helmet. I brought the helmet back into the store the next day and they would not return the helmet. They stated I had used the helmet and that it smelled like I road with it. I did not. They would not even pull up the receipt to see I had purchased it just the other day. The helmet is in the same condition they sold it to me which is apparently not a condition they should have sold it to me I'm. NEVER coming back. If you could see the smile on my face when I entered the store especially when I found Dainese and D30 armor protection CE Level 2 (do you know how hard it is to locate these items in stock?) The sales personnel will only ask you a couple of times if you need assistance to provide you with a hassle free shopping experience, but when you do need someone they are right at your side. I was looking for a modular lid and was assisted by Lonnie. I generally knew what product I wanted, but decided to try a few helmets out. There was no pressure in trying to upsale on a higher priced helmet. He was thorough and ensured I was fitted with the right helmet for my head shape and riding style. Now for your communications need, you might be overwhelmed on the different features of this product over that product, why is this one bigger than the rest, etcetera, etcetera... EVERYONE NEEDS ARE DIFFERENT! In my humble opinion, overall SENA products has been around for a while now but came late to the game on Mesh communications networks and this is where CARDO products surpass them with sound quality, noise isolation, voice recognition, dual digital inputs, Google Assistant (Voice) and Siri. This store is absolutely stunning and i love all their displays from the wavy helmet walls, gas tank clock wall, deconstructed dangling dirt bike above the cashier, etc. The floor was spacious with lots of inventory. Last Friday I brought in a wheel to have a tire mounted. Travis, the store manager inspected it and did not point out anything wrong with my wheel, BECAUSE THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH IT, I did not see anything wrong with it. I even told Travis how careful I am about where and how I ride and that I always look my wheels over because a previous bike I had, the wheels were damaged from a pothole. So I get my wheel back and when I get to the car as I am loading it in I see a bend at the edge of the rim. I walk back in and pointed this out to Travis and Travis told me: "You must have ran over a pothole". I am calling the corporate office and registering a formal complaint. Fat lot of good that will do as I am sure they really don't care. I already see another rather unsavory remark about Travis in these reviews so I think we are seeing a pattern here. I purchased some Dainese leather pants before I took delivery of my wheel. The pants were promptly returned the next day and I doubt I will be doing business with Cycle Gear again at all. Bottom line I brought in a wheel that was in like new condition what I got back from Cycle Gear was this, see attached photo. All Travis has to do at this point is modify the paperwork to show that he did indicate that there was something wrong to me about the wheel, very easy to do after the fact. read more

Terrible experience at Cycle Gear Katy! Yesterday afternoon I purchased a 300+ dollar helmet and as soon as I took it out on the first ride a screw that holds the visor in place fell off. Not what I would expect from a Sedici helmet but I didn't mind because I've spent thousands of dollars with this business and felt like they would stand behind their product. Boy was I wrong! I came into the store and was greeted by a very nice lady. She apologized and told me that she would try to find me a replacement screw or will swap out the helmet. Browsed through the store and when I came back she said that she could not find a replacement screw and that she would swap out the helmet. All is great until her manager TRAVIS heard the conversation and abruptly jumped in saying that if I lost the screw that was on me and for her not to move forward with the exchange. She tried to explain the situation by saying that it was a defect but he cut her off by saying "F*** what I said, you do whatever you want" The poor girl was so intimidated by him and I had to jump in. I could not believe the abusive language that he was using towards a fellow employee. I asked him to act like a professional and not to speak to her like that. He ignored me and mumbled, that he was not giving me another helmet because of my negligence and that he would only remove the screw out of a new helmet and give it to me. I guess another customer is going to get the shaft when they purchase the helmet missing the screw but whatever. I have spent lots of money and referred tens of new customers to this location. Needless to say, that will not be happening from now on. It makes perfect sense why there are always new people working at that location with someone like TRAVIS as a leader I would not want to work there either. read more
