What I like about Cycle Gear is the variety of motorcycle gear in their stores which range from reasonable, pricey and everything in between. The sales staff are not pushy and allow you time to browse or even have a rest on the couches from the scorching Texas sun. If you do require assistance, mostly everyone rides and will give you their input on the product in question helping you with your specific needs and not a sale. The products sale themselves. The best thing I like about Cycle Gear is their assortment of protective gear so if you wanted to get a basic jacket you could beef it up with some D30 or Dainese CE level protection and feel safe and secure which in my opinion, translates to better confidence in your riding. If you have a chance to stop by do not forget they offer in-house sales on some amazing gear and tools. The only downside is with the current logistic state. I am still looking for a reflective visor for my helmet and when I search on line it will say that one of the locations have it in stock, but when I call the product was either sold or awaiting delivery. Super far drive was very disappointing. Got the s1000rr bmw 2020 m package, which comes with carbon fiber rims. Bought a new tire online for 200 bucks just to go there so they can change it for 25 dollars, that's the deal they offer! I get there and lady finds out that I have carbon fiber rim, calls someone comes back and tells me that they can't do it because the rim is way to expensive if they damage it.... Another female salesperson with tattoo sleeves was a bit angry that I was opening a box of a Bell Helmet, told me it was not a half helmet, started to repack the box and told me that the Bell was too expensive. I guess she sized me up as being unable to afford it. I walked away to take a deep breath, and I decided not to do business here. Maybe she had a bad day of reboxing helmets earlier. Worst cycle gear I've ever been to. We walk in and all the employees are standing at the front counter. No big deal at first but when we're trying to find the stuff we needed they were no help. The floor was trashed with gloves and hanging devices in one area. We tried not to step on any of the merchandise but it was the whole isle and gloves are one thing we were there for. No one greeted us not asked us if we needed help. I was looking at the helmets and noticed a nice shoei high on the shelf. I must have waited 5-8 mins for someone to help me. I eventually went to their back and got the ladder myself and got it down. We ended up putting our few things down and going somewhere else. Absolutely ridiculous. read more

I worked at retail for a few years and I must say there is no professionalism or etiquette anymore. I tried to return an item that didn't work when I brought it home. Sorry but the Go Pro didn't turn on.. What am I suppose to do? Get stuck with a useless item. Don't think so. Anyways, from the moment I walked in the two guys there gave me a look like it's not going to be a hassle free return as stated on your corporate retail site. The guy that processed my return totally exposed how the other Cycle Gear location screwed up when he ranged up the item. Kept asking questions as to why I didn't bring it back to the original location. Or, it's more work for him because he has to do a mega search for my receipt and profile because I didn't buy from his location. The whole return was a drag and I'll have to reconsider buying anything from Cycle Gear period! Don't need your "hassle-free" return. On the plus side... I got my money back. I'm going to have to split the review. My previous visits weren't altogether that bad. I heard that this particular location that these guys were a-holes, but I didn't really see it until today. Last week I went over and talked to Scott who walked me through helmets and we talked about Bluetooth tech. I ended up leaving because the helmets they had were bit too snug. In parting, they were cool, it wasn't a bad experience. Today however was a different case. I suppose they see many people, I had asked Scott if he remembered me. I swear, he looked right through me like he just got kicked in the nutz or something. I wanted to retry the helmet he showed me before, yeah, this was an imposition. I guess it was lunch time and that was the topic between him and the guys. Maybe he thought I was full of $#!+ but I need a helmet upgrade, he was just not help. I would have been willing to pony up more bread than I expected to spend, but Scott made me a true believer. Cycle gear in Greenspoint is not the place to go. I guess consistent customer service is not that important to people. read more

I don't usually do this stuff, but the people here helped me so much today. I was in dire need to fix my Harley because my truck was flooded by Hurricane Harvey. They went above and beyond helping me, they gave me Labor Day discounts early, and even stacked my military discount. They even waited for me to come back from liberty Tx to bring the front tire rim to change the tire. They dated 30 mins after to help me out. Now, I can at least have a mode of transportation to and from work. The world needs more people like theses guys here at cycle gear. read more

What a terrible customer service experience! I brought my Bilt bluetooth helmet in because one speaker stopped working. It was a gift, so I had no receipt. I did bring the tag with price and code on it, and the warranty card that comes with the helmet. I also had the box it came in, but I ride a motorcycle, (surprise!) so I could not fit that in my backpack. I assumed, since Bilt is an exclusive Cyclegear product, that I would have no problem getting my issue resolved. I was SO wrong. There was one guy ahead of me in line, so I got behind him and waited. An employee came to me and asked what I needed. He was very nice, just doing his job, no worries. I explained to him that my bluetooth helmet was not working. He asked if I had a receipt, I said no. He proceeded to explain that they could not help me because a receipt was necessary. I told him that this was a Bilt helmet. It could only be purchased from Cyclegear. This is where it gets good. He told me that they would throw the warrantied helmets in the dumpster and people would retrieve them and bring them in for warranty again. That is why you must always have a receipt. I looked at him for a second, but he was dead serious. I said, that is dumb. Why would I be required to have a receipt to make up for bad policy on your part? He stammered something unintelligible. I asked if he was the manager, he said no, and directed me to him. The "Manager"! ha! Scott, the manager, gave me a rude and condescending attitude from the moment we spoke. He never once smiled. Never once talked to me in a friendly way. He went through the same excuses that the first employee did. He argued with me for quite a while about how many companies he had worked for that required receipts for warranty items. He searched his stores database for my purchase, found nothing. I told him it was a gift, he said it made no difference. I told him that I actually liked the helmet, it was a minor problem with a bluetooth speaker, perhaps we could just fix that? He refused to even consider it. At this point he accused me of having a bad attitude. I asked, how so? I have not raised my voice, used foul language or been angry, despite being told that my purchase of a Bilt product was not being backed up by the company that manufactures and sells it. An employee that I had not spoken to leaned over from another register and mumbled something that I could not understand. I turned to him and asked what he had said. He was angry and could not look at me directly. He said that I had called them dumb for throwing helmets in the dumpster, and that is why I had an attitude. This blew my mind! Is it company policy to toss perfectly good helmets in the garbage? Would you be surprised when people take advantage of this and return them? That is DUMB. No two ways about it. Nothing personal about it, either. No need to get insulted. Next, Scott grabbed my helmet with an angry huff! He literally stomped over to the side counter, like an angry 8 year old, and slammed my helmet on top of some boxes. Without looking at me or saying a word, he went to the new helmets and began searching. He realized that he had no idea what size I wore, so after a few seconds, he angrily asked me. I told him it was a medium. He got a new helmet, unpackaged it and set it on the counter in front of me. I honestly have no idea what a person like that is doing managing a store. I was embarrased for him and utterly unprepared for such behavior. He handed me a form to fill out for the return, and Lo! and behold, there is a spot on the form to check if no receipt. It turns out that they DO allow for such an eventuality! Amazing. I asked him about that, and he told me that he had never said he WOULDN'T honor the warranty. I was shocked! I told him that he had just argued with me for ten minutes! His empoyee had told me that they could not help me, and given me the dumpster story! Scott looked me right in the eye and said, "He was being facetious. It is called sarcasm", his voice dripping with sarcasm. Now, I have had good experiences with Cyclegear. They are cheap, but decent. I do not expect perfection from an obviously lower end store. But this was ridiculous. I would have been perfectly happy with repairing my helmet. It was probably a $1.00 speaker! There is just no reason to act this way in that situation. Scott and his lackeys lost my business forever. read more

Kevin and Ghost were very friendly and helpful. The place could be a lot neater but I attribute some of that to shoppers just dropping things wherever and not too much room in back for excess stock. Brands are a bit limited, but they do have a nice selection of products so you can still be picky and choosy. (for those not so easy to please people. All in all they will happily be getting my return business and money. And they even got some of my Ladies money both today and probably again in the future. Overall this location is perfect for what I've needed including customer service. I've been here many times being my bf rides track and always needs something. But these times I went for myself. The first day I needed help with my battery an I wasn't sure what the problem was the worker checked it for me & helped me find a new battery along with a charger that was on sale for $30 original $80 it was a steal! I took both and they offered to charge it which took about an hour. But since they were about to close & I was going to ride the next morning I decided to do it myself. Everything worked out perfect! The next morning I decided to go back at 10 am for a new jacket simply because the service was so great and I really needed one. I had a new worker help me with no problem she was very helpful and we even talked about other things. The $400 I spent here in 2 days were well worth it! read more

We do wish they had more woman's items that weren't PINK. Just because I'm a woman doesn't mean I want to shout it out to everyone while I'm riding by wearing PINK all over me! But that's a corporate issue not an individual store one. Scott and his staff are very knowledgeable and all ride and own motorcycles themselves. This is a huge plus to me because you can't always find people that know and use the same products that you're looking for. They have a professional and personal understanding of what they are selling you, and make great recommendations based on this and your wants/needs. Have been to this place a few times over the last few months, and have spent quite a bit in there, until last week. I called to confirm they had some gloves I was looking for and spoke with Scott, the "Manager". I went in to the Greenspoint Store a short time after and began looking through their glove selection, that, by the way, looks like a grenade went off in the middle of them. NO order to them whatsoever......as many others here have noted......the store is in complete disarray. After some frustration, I went up and asked Scott where the particular gloves we had spoken about on the phone previously were located. He was sitting down behind the counter talking to another employee, so I hated to inconvenience him and force him to do his job, but I did anyway. He gestured that they were all on the second rack, or whatever, sort of pointing, and with an attitude said "All of the Alpinestar gloves are together", which they clearly are not, maybe if he'd walk out from behind the counter he might discover that, but that wasn't even my question. My question was specifically where are the exact type that we had discussed on the phone. That was all he said, then went back to talking with co-worker. I didn't waste much time before I walked out. On my way out, Scott said "You didn't find them...?". I informed him that that was the basis of my question previously, that he was not interested in helping out with. He then said "You don't have to get an attitude with me about it..." As if...! The only attitude was the STORE MANAGER, SCOTT, not wanting to help out a Customer who was prepared to drop $150 on a pair of gloves. My wife and I are business owners, and I can GUARANTEE you that we would not consider treating our great customers this way, and if we ever did, I would fully expect for them to never even give consideration to coming back into our establishments, as I will never come back to this terribly run store.
